Split & Span Text Box functionality inside Table Cells
Split & Span Text Box functionality inside Table Cells, so you can create multiple text columns within an individual cell

I have also found this to be a requirement of mine. I'll have to pop in some text boxes over the table :(

This would have been so extremely time-saving for me. Seems kinda like a bug that the span/split column paragraph setting doesn't work if the text happens to be inside a cell.

I was trying to figure out how to do this, I had no idea it wasn't an option! I just thought I was being dumb. Adobe should implement this. It can't be that hard to do surely. Microsoft Excel offer merge cells. If Microsoft can do it, then pull your socks up Adobe.

I am searching how to make a cell into 2 columns. Seeing this made me sad :( I bet it would an easy addition.

It's absolutely ridiculous that this still hasn't been implemented in CC 2019. Why would you disregard a function that is so obviously necessary to tables?

Ugh, this has been here since 2017? This is absolutely something that should be a function. If a paragraph style is applied to text, it should follow the style no matter where the text goes. The workaround of adding columns, changing all of the rules around them, merge columns or cells, then break apart the copy is far less than ideal and adds another level for errors to occur!

Split text + being able to split cell accros pages would be perfect!

I find it very strange that a paragraph style with 2 columns does not work in a table cell.

Oh and allow users to select multiple tables and edit the font properties - if no styles created. As we can do with text boxes. Would save hours!

absolutely. Plus allow tables to snap better to guides. C'on Adobe do more than update to subscribers with minimal if no real user progression!

Absolutely.
Right now one can format text with e.g. a split to 2 columns, but it has no visible effect on text in a table cell. If you'd copy the same text to a regular text frame the formatting of a split column can be seen.
