1. change date (Ändringsdatum) in window when open och import a picture is missing

   MacOS Sonoma
   In Finder you can choose to sort with the choice Change date, but when you work in InDesign and open or want to import a picture you can‘t sort the list after Change date (Ändringsdatum) anymore.
   I wan‘t the choice to use change date to come back.

2. Scripts

   When I updated to InDesign 2021 (V 16.0), all my custom scripts and their associated keyboard shortcuts were gone.

   I had to go into my Applications/Adobe InDesign 2020/Scripts/Scripts Panel folder and copy them over into that same folder in the InDesign 2021 folder.

   Not sure if it's happening across the board, but thought I'd point out my experience.

3. "comp_core_log" folder is created

   1. Adobe InDesign 16.2.1.102
   2. When the component information dialog is displayed for the first time after launching InDesign.
   3. Just the component information dialog is displayed.
   4. An empty folder named "compcorelog" is created on the desktop.

   This may not be a bug, but deleting an empty folder every time I check the document history is a bit annoying.

4. Indesign incredibly slow or crashes with more than one document open

   InDesign (15.0.2) becomes almost unusable with more than (1) document open. Trying to copy text or images from one document to the next or just work in one of the documents while the other is open results in minutes-long wait times (or complete crash) to even select a text box, type a character, etc.

   Steps to reproduce:
   Open INDD doc (either on network or desktop)
   Open second INDD doc
   Attempt to edit text in either doc or copy over text from one document to the next

   Set-up info:
   InDesign 15.0.2
   Windows 10 Enterprise // 10.0.17763

   Trouble-shooting included:
   - Turned off all plug-ins
   - Turned off all preferences related to instant rendering of image, type, previews
   - Turned off pre-flight
   -Turned off type previews, variable characters, etc
   -Display is set to typical (although, it happens in FAST as well)

   Happening across regional team of 20+ users all working on the same Windows version and similar computers (Lenovo)

   As confirmed by a customer over the thread that the issue is fixed in InDesign 2020(v15.1.2.226).

   We recommend you upgrade to either InDesign 2020(v15.1.2.226) or to the latest InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77) for the fix.

   If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

5. User Interface - Middle & Light Gray - Selections in Layers - Not Visible

6. zoom with touchpad windows

   I would like you to make it possible to zoom with the fingers on the touchpad in Windows. It works in illustrator, but not in Indesign, at a PC, in Windows (only on Mac). Could you make this possible? It gives so much better control over the working process

   With all of the bugs that the library has right now, can we get an obvious refresh for the window, specifically for when the window crashes or when new assets are added elsewhere to the active library.

8. Indesign 13.1 x64 (PC), Cell styles, Ignore option not working

   I can't get the "Ignore" option to work when setting up cell styles, I've had it working on previous versions, but now it won't stay (it needs to show in the rule type and colour setting selector panel but when I select "Ignore" nothing shows in the panel - it needs to display the "Ignore" setting). An example of when you might use it is if you've set up a table with various cell styles, eg header row, thin underlines, thick underlines and a table end rule and then want to apply a tint panel to all, or some of one or more columns without changing any of the rules applied using other cell styles (Annual Reports are documents where you would like this to work)
   It's a very handy feature that doesn't seem to work any more.

9. "Edit Page Size" drop down list; each entry duplicated

   When using the "Edit Page Size" button/drop down on the Pages panel, the list of page sizes has begin showing duplicate entries, and I'm not sure why. It seems to have started out of nowhere.
   To select an item in the list, you can see in the screenshot that each entry is doubled, and sometimes the "top" item is the correct one to click, other times it is the "bottom" item. In each pairing, one of them does nothing when selected.
   I've attached an image to show what I mean.

10. Tab indent of RTL Numbered List does not line up

    See two screenshots attached, both are using the exact same settings, (Default, just changed to Hebrew numbering)
    in InDesign 2019 (14.0.3) Everything is nicely aligned, vs in InDesign 2020 (15.0) it's jagged, and I'm not able to align it in any way (Tabs, Indenting, etc.).
    I'm using InDesign 2020 תומך עיברית, on Windows 10

    Fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign 2020 – that is, InDesign 15.0.1

    In the Creative Cloud Desktop application, click on the Updates section on the left. You should be able to see the Update available for InDesign. Please update your InDesign application to this version to try out the fix.

11. story editor

    Using Indesign 17.2 on x64 PC. Brand-new machine with fresh install.

    To reproduce the issue open the story editor then close it.

    Expected result: The story editor closes and I can resume working in the main document window immediately.

    Actual result: When I close the story editor, the window disappears but all the tools on the toolbar, except the text tool, remain greyed out and I can't do anything in the main document for around 30 seconds.

12. Cannot recognize/package .ai files from .indd files linked to another .indd file

    When linking to another .indd file, and then creating a package, the package will include .psd, .jpg and .png files from the linked .indd file. However, it appears that .ai files are not recognized in the main file's link panel and are not packaged. The other non-.ai links to the sub-file's assets are included in the main file's links panel as well.

13. Serious GREP style bug: ampersands

    Hi, InDesign team.

    I've run into a serious bug with GREP styles. Any GREP expression containing an ampersand character that is entered as a GREP style in a paragraph style will suddenly acquire additional ampersands whenever I scroll through the list of GREP styles.

    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

    Create a simple GREP style as part of a paragraph style.
    The entire GREP expression should consist of the single character &. (Though this also happens when the & is part of longer expressions.)
    Make enough other GREP styles that you need to scroll in the window to see them all.
    Close the paragraph style window and reopen it.
    Scroll through the list of GREP styles.
    When you scroll, you will see that "&" has become "&&."

    I believe I have gotten around the bug by using the Unicode value for an ampersand, but this is not ideal. I need to be able to trust that the GREP style implementation is solid.

14. [ID-4245419]Auto-Sizing of text frames results in abnormally long widths

    InDesign 2023 v18.1 (Probably occurs in all versions after CS6)

    There is a terrible bug in Auto-Sizing for text frames that causes the width to become unusually long.

    Simple and reliable reproduction procedure

    1. Create a new document
    2. Set all units to points in Preferences
    3. Create a new text frame
    4. Set paragraph style to “Basic Paragraph” and clear overrides
    5. Set Auto-Sizing
       -->Change to “Height and Width” --> Click the upper left corner -->Turn on “No Line Breaks”
    6. Insert Spacing to 1 pt
    7. Corner Options to 1 pt and Round
    8. Enter “0 [Line Break]” repeatedly (about 20 times) in the text frame

    Workaround

    Set Columns
    -->Change to “Flexible Width”
    -->Set Maximum to a very large value (like 1000 pt)

15. scroll arrows missing

    Here is a new bug in InDesign 2022
    This bug didn't exist in InDesign 2019
    Here isi it :
    In OBJECT menu > Object's layers options :
    The small window doesn't have scroll arrows anymore. They are very usefull to scroll the list screen per screen.
    Now, ther is only a vertical scroll cursor and it isn't precise at all : impossible to use with a list of 40, 50 layers.

    The window should be resizable too please.

16. Hyphenation zone settings override discretionary hyphen exclusivity

    Summary

    Conflict between discretionary hyphen behavior and "After First / Before Last" hyphenation zone settings, where InDesign ignores discretionary hyphens that fall within the prohibited hyphenation zone.

    When a word contains a discretionary hyphen that falls within the "After First X Letters" or "Before Last X Letters" prohibited zone, InDesign should:
    1. Respect the discretionary hyphen's exclusivity (only break where discretionary hyphen appears)
    2. Refuse to break the word at all since the only allowed break point falls within the prohibited zone
    3. Not apply automatic hyphenation anywhere else in the word

    Actual Behavior

    InDesign ignores the discretionary hyphen when it falls within the prohibited hyphenation zone and applies automatic hyphenation rules instead, breaking the word at algorithmically-determined positions that fall outside the prohibited zone.

17. Object effects not scaling when using numeric adjustment

    When I scale an object using the actual size of the object, say I have a rectangle 40x40mm with a stroke size of 4 point, and I increase the size to say 80x80mm the stroke still stays at 4 points. This also applies to effects that I have given the object, like a drop shadow. All the effects are not scaled if I scale the object numerically. No matter which panel I use and of course the transformation panel is marked to scale strokes and effects. The effects do scale if I scale it by percentage like they should.
    The problem is, if I have some sort of artwork with any kind of outline and want to set the exact hight of that artwork or object, the stroke size used to be adjusted accordingly, but now just stays as it was set at the beginning.

18. color theme menu is off the screen and I can't resize it or see bottom of menu

    when i open the color them window, the bottom of the menu pops up off screen. I can't see the bottom of the color theme menu and I'm unable to resize it.

    You can small ‘up-down’ arrows next to the panel name to switch between the sizes of the panel.
    Please see if this resolves the issue.

19. Indesign CC 13.0.1

    Indesign CC 13.0.1 crashes after trying to open/hit hyperlinks panel. I'm running mac 0S High Sierra 10.13.3

    I tried to re-download CC 12 and it unfortunately won't open on this newest OS version.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

20. Cannot Pan/Scroll with WACOM pen in Open/Save/Place file dialogue windows.

    Cannot Pan/Scroll with Wacom pen in Open/Save/Place type file dialogue windows in mmany if not all of Adobe apps (where every other non-Adobe app I know of does, Apple and other 3rd parties), obviously this pertains to when you've mapped a Wacom pen button to pan/scroll to use in that manner (Wacom settings screen attached).

    What should happen is being able to interact similar to touch omnidirectional swiping which includes vertical mouse-like scrolling when pressing the button and making contact with the pen, as would be expected and Wacom designed it to do.

    What instead happens: Adobe apps interpret this as a Quick Look request on click of whatever file is targeted by cursor at the time. This defers from every system norm elsewhere on macOS, 1st and 3rd party. Never witnessed this in a non-Adobe app. Adobe apps are essentially ignoring the pan/scroll input from Wacom pens, but strangely only in those types of windows, which are standard and common macOS type views otherwise and not unique to Adobe, so the behavior expected is pretty well established.

    Note: This is not unique to InDesign. This is an Adobe Suite - wide issue. Photoshop, Illustrator reflect same unexpected behavior, and I would assume others if it's a shared thing across the CC suite of apps. That said, in all other app interactivity other than in these window types, the pan/scroll input is respected and behavior is consistent with expectation.
