Bug Buttons and forms
Indesign 2020 - MacOs 10.13.6
in order to make an interactive PDF, I first created my bookmarks and then my buttons.
Yesterday I programmed them all with the "hit target" function to go to the desired page. Everything worked.
Today, I reopen the document and half of my buttons got deprogrammed, they are all with my 1st bookmark on the list.
I was still on the CS6 a week ago and it all worked perfectly!
In order to deliver my client in EMERGENCY, I have to save in idml and bring out my old Mac with CS6 to finalize it.…1 vote -
Importing Word Footnotes
Windows 7, Indesign CC 2020 (version 15.0.2)
While placing Word file, footnotes and endnotes not appearing in Indesign while using copy & paste these are showing.
Pl check and fix it.

Book file issue
Using ID 17.0.01 x64 on Windows 11, when closing all files, but not the .indb file, the files disappear and and screen reverts to the opening screen. Under Window, the book file appears and when clicking on it, the book file shows up in the upper left hand corner of the screen. Not where I put it at the top of the right panel. Plus, it shows the last file closed wasn't saved in the book.

exporting a book to PDF (dialogue box
When exporting a book to PDF from Indesign CC2019 on Mac OSX Mojave, the export pdf dialogue box ("Generating PDF") displays (showing progress / page count) but it can't be hidden (or covered over) by switching to another app or browser window like it used to. Eg if it was z layers in CSS, it is always sitting on top and getting in the way of multi-tasking whilst exporting the book file.

2024 Windows version option to hide home screen is gone
ID 2024 Windows the option "Show Home Screen When No Documents Are Open" is gone. Still present in macOS version. Just gone in Windows. Please fix.

locked into program
While working in InDesign, I have to right click anywhere in the window to be able to access anything else on my computer. It's like it doesn't want me working in any other program except InDesign so it's trapping me. This has been a problem since pretty much the first day I started using creative cloud. There are 6 other people in my office that have never had this problem and we all use the same version of InDesign.

Drop shadow on typed word. Edit the word, the shadow won't change. Have to turn shadow off then back on again.

selection story
I have a couple of documents with the same type of tables on several pages. I mark 2 of 3 columns and want to change all letters and numbers in that one to x. So I use the search/find to do this and I mark "Selection" to just change the selected ones. Works fine. So I move to the next page with the Search/Find Windows still open. Then I mark the new 2 columns and want to change them as well. But now the "Selection" have changed to Story".

InDesign Review Feature
My coworker and I are both suddenly facing major problems with the review functionality with Adobe InDesign 16.1 (Windows). This has only been occurring for about 10 days. When the review function actually works instead of an error or just loading nonstop (only works 30% of the time now), the links often don't work in the end for other viewers to review and show up as an error. Story that spans several pages not adding to InCopy Assignment.
When I create an InCopy file the bulk of the document does not add to the assignment. When I right click on the story there is no InCopy option in the drop down. If I go to the assignments panel I cannot add the story to the assignment.
Just updated to InDesign cc 2018. (13.0.1) Running El Capitan.

Adobe Digital Editions bug in Windows
Fixed-format epubs created by InDesign (17.2.1) show correctly in Adobe Digital Editions (14.5) on Mac (OS 12.3) but incorrectly in Adobe Digital Editions (14.5) on Windows (10). I have attached screenshots that show the difference. I was unable to upload the original files.

InDesign Effects applied directly to Text do not update when the text is changed
Some effects that are applied directly to the text do not update when the text is changed. If the same effect is assigned to the text frame (object), this error does not occur. Switching to GPU Preview or GPU Acceleration on the Mac or turning off the same option has no effect on the error.
Windows 10 mit InDesign Version 16.2.1 x64, only a time delay is noticeable.

Page/Spread Duplicate and Place doesn't work after last update update
When duplicating pages (or spreads) using Option (on Mac) and dragging inside "Pages" window, it no longer allows you to drag this duplicate anywhere in the page order list, but all the way at the end. This is extremely inefficient now and a lot more work to re-organize pages again after the duplicate is made. This is frustrating since this was a feature before and now it's gone. Please, bring it back.

I am opening InDesign from the start menu but it crashes each time. it will open ok from CC.

We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

CC2021 Windows file with bullets not compatible with Mac
I opened a client's file in ID CC2021. She had a bulleted list but the bullets were squares with a question mark in the. [?]. I opened the file on a Mac and she created it on Windows. I opened the file in windows the the bullets looked fine •

freezing in Indesign version 16.2.1
Hi all
I was working on a very important file yesterday morning using Indesign version 16.2.1 on PC window 10 and was linking images to the file when my indesign just froze. I've been having issues since where it takes for ever if at all to open any indesign file. At one stage it didn't recover my file so a message came up to ask if I wanted to recovery it....what ever option I chose I was left with Indesign unable to still function properly. All InDesign 15.0x EXTREMELY SLOW
All InDesign 15.0x is EXTREMELY SLOW, almost unusable.
I had to go back to version 14.03 to be able to work. This is on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, v1909. It takes minutes to paste a picture.
