CC'15-'17 All hyperlinks missing/removed after round trip with InCopy editors
I am a designer and build corporate white papers anywhere from 35-100+ pages in length. We use the layout InCopy workflow with one assignment and all stories exported under that. After I import and design/format all content including hyperlinks, I then save for the editors for use in InCopy. They then do their work, and save for me, standard. Upon opening, all the hyperlinks are missing with a "red flag" denoting the ref. is missing . Oddly enough, for the past two documents we made, you could still export to PDF with the links functioning, this despite all the missing…

Buttons and Forms
I am using InDesign CC (13.0) on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6 using a MacBook Pro13 in, mid-2012.
When The Buttons and Forms panel is docked with the other panels, it will usually refuse to expand. There does not seem to be a set pattern to it, but it seems more likely to expand correctly when working with TextFields than when working with Radio Buttons, Check Boxes, or Combo Boxes. I have seen it work correctly when working with a Text Field, then when I select a Radio Button, the Buttons and Forms panel will momentarily populate with the…

[ID-4216061]Incorrect re-linking of image files with rotation metadata
This bug occurs in all versions of InDesign.
InDesign reflects the EXIF orientation in the transform panel when an image file is placed. However, under the following conditions, the result of relinking will be incorrect.
- The image file is rotated 90 degrees with EXIF orientation.
- In the transform panel, the vertical and horizontal percentage values are different.
Image files taken with an iPhone often retain the EXIF orientation rotation. If such a file is placed in indd by the client and the vertical and horizontal percentage values are different, there will be a problem that will cause drastic changes…

No Hyphenation in CC 2019 (ver. 14)
Hi there – it seems that the CC 2019 (v. 14) can't Hyphenate. I use – without luck – the checkbox in the Control Panel. Have I missed a secret Button?

Windows 10 / InDesign 19.5 x64 - Text Frame and Zoom Window Problems
When attempting to use the Text Tool to creat a text frame by using the click / drag / release method either nothing happens (99% of the time), the text frame is invisble (I confirmed a text frame was created by viewing 'Undo Create Text Frame'), the release of the mouse pointer occurs on its own.
Expected result: create a text frame in a single movement: left click the mouse on a location, drag while the mouse button is held down, release the button to create a text frame
Actual result: 99% of the time nothing
When using the click…

Import XLSX spreadsheet to an InDesign table: the "-1" problem
InDesign CS4 - CC2017
Generate an Excel spreadsheet that contains at least one cell with the value "-1". Save as XLSX. Import/place (cmd-d) this file as "unformatted table".
the cells with the value "-1" should still have this value.
the cells are empty. All other values seem to show up correctly.
Additional information: Working regularly on Annual Reports with 100+ tables, our choice is to import as „unformatted table“ and to do all formatting in InDesign. After changes in Excel, all we have to do is updating the linked tables via the link panel. Table contents change, formatting stays.…

Exported interactive PDF does not honour reading order.
1 – InDesign 2020 15.0
2 – Have standard copy with headings and body copy with PDF export tags applied (H1, H2, P etc). Add images between sections of text. Drag elements into the Articles panel in the correct reading order and tick 'Use for Reading Order in Tagged PDF.
3 – Images should be in the right order
4 – Images are not in the right order. All figures are in a <Art> tag. This was not an issue in InDesign 2019.
5 – Order should be first block of text, image (1) and then second block of text…11 votesFix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign 2020 – that is, InDesign 15.0.1

typekit fonts missing but return when InDesign is restarted twice
InDesign CC 13.1 x64
This bug happens every time I open an InDesign file that has a typekit font (any typekit font)
The typekit font will show as active in my Creative Cloud assets panel. The expected result would be for the file to open with the fonts synced.
Actual result: InDesign tells me that the fonts are not synced. The only way to fix it is to close and open the entire program twice.
The third time the file is opened in the program, InDesign will show that the fonts are synced.

I'm running Win 10 Pro version 17763.165 and had iTunes open and had just started Adobe InDesign version 14.0.1 X64 and then launched win file explorer and that came up but then the explorer window kept flickering. It did it so much I couldn't close the window. Now I have settings open and the about window in InDesign froze and doesn't close. But some of this my be a design flaw in the Adobe program. Only way to close was by Task manager. Report also sent to MS support to let them know as this may be a beta…

I right click multible text blocks in InDesign to export them to InCopy and then save.
After saving I inmediately get and new window asking to save the links again with a different name. I have to cancel the second save dialog window.

Placing an ICML file in an InDesign file ignores multiple artboards in AI files if they are embedded
If you have an AI file with multiple artboards which is an embedded anchored object in a text frame it will always revert back to the first artboard when you place the ICML in InDesign.
- Create a new InDesign file.
- Create an AI file with two artboards and one simple object in each.
- Create a text frame in InDesign.
- Place the AI file in the text frame and choose the second artboard.
- Embed the AI file.
- Export the text frame as an ICML file.
- Place the ICML file into the document (not check in/check out).

File name editor in book tool
It would be incredibly useful if you could use the book editor panel to be able to rename the underlying file. For instance, just before I finalise a textbook, I would like to be able to put chapters numbers in as a prefix to each file.
At the moment, I have to remove "all" the files from the book. Or rename the files after closing InDesign. Then I patch up the book by using the resultant errors to remind me of which file goes in which sequence in the book. This process is very time consuming and unnecessary, considering the…
