1. saving documents on a mac pro OS 11.6.1 using the latest Indesign version, the save or export box flashes onscreen then vanishes

   Using Indesign 2021, V 16.4 on a mac pro with OS Big Sur, 11.6, when I try to export to PDF or save a document, the save box flashes, flickers onscreen then vanishes before I can save. After many many attempts sometimes I'm able to save or export. Frustrating, and for the cost, Indesign should not be doing this.

2. Using a variable font and exporting to PDF results in corrupted outlines in text

   When using a variable font in InDesign v17.0.1 and exporting to PDF, the resulting file contains text with corrupted outlines. '.notdef' boxes get inserted into some glyphs as can be seen in the attached PDF.

   This error also occurs in Illustrator.

   When exporting to PDF using a non-Adobe application, no errors are seen.

   Errors occur only when using variable version of the font an not the static versions.

   Additional information and test fonts have been sent in an email to Josh Hadley.

3. Ajouter une fonctionnalité "État d'objet" pour les objets non imprimable en pdf intéractif

   Est-il possible d'ajouter une fonctionnalité sur indesign permettant de rendre un objet (exemple : lignes noirs sur un formulaire interactif) non imprimable lors de l'impression de ce document. Donc attribuer à cet objet un "état à l'impression" dans un sens comme dans l'autre.

   Une fonctionnalité qui permettrait à une entreprise de remplir son document interactif de type formulaire et si elle souhaite l'imprimer sur son copieur, que celui-ci sorte proprement sans les petits lignes. Ou à l'inverse que les lignes ne s'affichent pas en pdf intéractif mais à l'impression s'imprime pour permettre de compléter le document à la main.

4. Save-as – file name not default text field for saving files – 17.0.1

   In previous versions, save-as brought up a dialogue where I could start typing or changing the file name right away. Now, I either need to actually click on the file name or press tab three times to get there.

   As someone who uses keyboard commands for speed and efficiency, this is annoying. The older version was faster and better. If you could fix this, I'd appreciate it.

   On the plus side, you've finally allowed us to use Command-N for a new folder and Command-O to open a file on start-up – which are system-wide Mac standard commands that were somehow dropped many versions ago. Better late than never.

6. Random missing text which does not affect the PDF output

   Greetings,
   Please compare the two screenshots that I've posted. One is a shot from InDesign, and the other is a screenshot from the PDF output of the same text. As you can see there are some missing lines in when I look at the text in InDesign.
   Some notes:
   1) It always happens with list items (bullet lists, numbered lists)
   2) The random missing text parts changes as I change the magnification (zoom) level
   3) It happens on all my documents
   4) I haven’t changed anything recently. No InDesign updates, etc.
   5) The font used is Minion Pro and supplied by Creative Cloud
   6) When the problematic list is a large one, it takes significant processing power to scroll or zoom over it and InDesign becomes unresponsive.

7. Workspace disappears when reverting back from Presentation Mode

9. Dreamweaver and Indesign allocating all available memory

   I have an M1 iMac (8gb ram and 256 SSD) no matter how small or big the project I'm working on is, after about 10mins it takes over 90% of all available memory! Although I have adjusted to saving and quitting after every 10mins, I would love for this not to be an issue in the first place.

   Details: I open the application to work on school projects. Some projects as small as 1 spread and only text (no images) and some over 10 pages with many images. The bigger projects cap out memory around the same time as the smaller ones. I turn down display graphics and even try using CPU preview instead of GPU, this does nothing to the performance. Indesign works great with no buffers and is incredibly smooth up until the very moment the macOS brings up the dialogue screen that asks me to force quit applications to avoid computer damage.

11. Child masters don't update

    I have child masters that are based on a parent master. When I update margins etc on the parent, the child masters are not inheriting those settings as they do in InDesign 2021. The only resolution appears to be changing 'based on' to something else, and then going back and changing 'based on' to its original parent.

12. Share for review - Filters don't work for those who commented

    When I filter by a reviewer, I only get the edits that were posted first by that person. If they commented on someone else's edit, the filter will not pull those up.

13. InDesign 17.0.1 exporting to Acrobat Pro DC 2021.007.20099 and opening in Full Screen mode on Monterey 12.0.1 page transitions not working.

    The options are still there in InDesign and Acrobat to have page transitions but they no longer function. Is this a Mac issue as, apparently, Windows users don't have this issue

15. Highlight filename in save window

    Just upgraded to the M1 Mac version 17.0.1, and the file name is not highlighted by the default.

    Please fix. AND ONLY THE FILE NAME. NOT THE EXTENSION.

16. InDesign not displaying actual (print) size

    InDesign 2021 does not actually show you the printed size of the document.

    There are two potential (and faulty) options to achieve this currently:

    1. Set the zoom level to 100%: On various forums I've read that this should let you view the document at actual print size. A document that physically takes up 10x10cm on your screen, should print at 10x10cm.

    In effect, that doesn't happen and the 100% renders my document at a way larger size than what it's actual size. (I'm literally holding up a ruler against my screen, and a 10cm wide page is about 20cm wide on the screen).

    1. Go to view>view actual size: This one comes closer - the document (and thus objects in it) are rendered about 1.3 smaller than the real-actual dimensions they'll be printed at (as opposed to 2 times bigger in the previous method).

    Again, this doesn't actually work and I'm wondering what it's intended to do.

    My suggested solution:

    I'm using a 4k, 15.6" Dell monitor, and photoshop did this also. It even has a "printed size" in addition to "actual size", which also didn't render things in their correct size.

    I understood that photoshop assumes all screens are at 72dpi, and that causes the incorrect rendering. After "telling" photoshop my actual monitor dpi, which is 283 - it began rendering things correctly when choosing "view print size".

    I when to edit>preferences>units&increments, and tried setting the "points/inch" setting. It was at 72 at default, and I thought that setting it to 283 would solve the problem.

    When I tried doing so, a popup came up and said "the value must be between 60 and 80". So this obviously doesn't work. I'm wondering why this would be the case, as screens today have dpi's of way over 72 and 80.
    Maybe allowing entering higher dpi's will solve this problem?

    Anyway, if anyone knows a solution/idea on how to display print size, I'd love to hear it.

17. Pages palette not populating

    imac 10.11.6 (El Capitan) Using 2nd admin, InD files from 1st admin not populating Pages palette. Page icons appear but are blank.
    100pp magazine with many images prepped for offset printing.
    However 1st admin InD files with only text pages open fine in 2nd admin.

18. Intel iRIS XE graphic graphic bugs using dual monitors

    Sometime its glitch graphic appear, i had to zoom in and out to sort it out, and i didnt screenshot this time (it was big one) but sometime it does appear similar like this screenhot.

    Spec: Lenovo i7 1165G, 16GB ram, 512GB NVME, IRIS XE Graphic, one laptop screen and one 24" 1080P

    Does anyone experience with glitch graphic?

20. Type vanishes once edited in text boxes

    Following update of OS to Monterey 12.0.1 and using InDesign 2022 17.0.1, opening files that had been previously created, when editing text within text boxes, as soon as I click elsewhere then the text within the box vanishes - as thought there's not enough room for it, when there is.
    Sometimes clicking back on it causes it to reappear, sometimes the box just won't return as a visible element.
