1. EPUB export converts nonbreaking hyphens to regular hyphens

   EPUB export converts non-breaking hyphens to regular hyphens. This behavior should be corrected immediately and export a non-breaking hyphen in an InDesign document to a "& # 8209 ;" HTML glyph.

   This glyph, when inserted into an EPUB XHTML content file via manual editing, is respected by most EPUB readers including Thorium. There is thus no standards-based reason to convert these on export.

2. paragraph window not working properly

   No numbers are showing in the paragraph window. I can manually adjust (sometimes) with the arrows but I have no idea what the numbers are. The numbers which are showing are poking out of their boxes. The justification buttons also sometimes don't work.

   I've shut down, restarted, reinstalled etc. I used an older version of InDesign for a while because it's almost impossible to work with. Woke up today and the old version has gone and the new version had installed itself but still has these bugs.

   I'm using Indesign 17.3 on MacOS Monterey 12.4.

3. Indesign 17.2 does not support Tibetan fonts "Microsoft Himalaya"

   The fonts work normally before updating. After updated to the latest version, the fonts cannot be opened in Indesign.

5. Can't Click/Drag Large Area of Main Title Bar

   This was introduced in 17.0 and I was hoping it would be fixed by 17.3 but it hasn't been addressed.

   Large areas of the title bar can't be clicked on/interacted with so one can't drag/move the main program window.

   I'd say about 50% of the title bar is like this.

6. False icon

   Indesign Version 17.2.1
   If I save my file as an Indesign file (INDD), the icon on my desktop shows Photoshop and not Indesign. As a result I can't open the file via double-click because then Photoshop opens and says "Der Vorgang konnte nicht ausgeführt werden, weil dieses Dokument nicht vom richtigen Typ ist". So I have to open it via right click, open with Indesign. That's a little bit annoying.

7. Arabic Support Was Suddenly Removed

   My default install language is English with Arabic support. InDesign was working normally until I changed a preference setting (disabled Hindi Digits) in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. It was the only change I recently made to any Adobe-related app. I had to reinstall the app to fix the issue.

8. InDesign should apply variating substitutions from rclt

   Variable fonts may contain location-dependent substitutions, but the rvrn feature runs too early for many real-world substitutions. The solution in font-making land has been to use the rclt or rlig features instead, but at least the former is not supported by InDesign. This is a major headache for e.g. Arabic.

9. Bug: When mapping styles to tags and overriding all parent page items text boxes resize on M1 macbook pro

   This bug only happens on my M1 Max MacBook pro. I have InDesign (17.2.1) fully updated to the latest version and my MacBook is also fully updated to the latest version. I have had this issue on previous versions since having the M1 mac. This also happens when overriding all parent page items.

   When I map styles to tags it resizes some of the text boxes. I have an iMac pro that I have tested this on and it doesn't happen. I have also had other people open it on various apple computers and it isn't an issue.

   I have also noticed it when opening some InDesign files that were created in the same InDesign version just on non-M1 chip computers. There is no consistency with these, so I can't give specifics.

10. inaccurate view

    Latest version of InDesign does not show an accurate view. At 100% view or ACTUAL SIZE, it is significantly larger. I was on with Adobe tech services for about an hour as he tried to find a fix. He noticed that the problem does not happen with older versions of InDesign, only the latest version (17.2.1)

    The issue does not exist in Illustrator or Photoshop.

12. Khmer Line-Breaking Regression Bug

    While much has been fixed, the current version of InDesign 2022 still line-breaks Khmer words/punctuation incorrectly (this used to work in InDesign 5.5 but has been broken since CS 6).

    Here are some sample words/puncuation that break incorrectly (many are names):
    យេស៊ូវ
    អ៊‌ីស្រាអែល
    គ្រីស្ទ
    «...ទោះ
    ជាម្ចាស់
    អាន់ទីយ៉ូក
    ៗ (this should stay with the previous word not break on to its own line)
    អា​កំណា
    គ្រី‌ស្ទបរិស័ទ
    បន្សុស
    ខគម្ពីរ
    បូគោ
    ... (should stay together and stay with previous word like in English)
    បូគោ
    ឰយុកោ

    Easiest way to fix this is don't break a line unless there is a zero-width space (U+200B) or a real space.

13. "O" button popup is blocking use of small text box anchorpoint.

    This problem happens when attempting to resize small rectangle text boxes (smaller than .9") with the bottom/center anchorpoint. When clicking directly on the anchorpoint, instead of being able to drag it up or down to resize, a small pop-up box appears by the "O" symbol that has a check box for "All Small Caps." this disallows me to resize. I'm not clicking the "O." I'm clicking directly on the bottom/center anchorpoint.

    This problem affects my workflow every time I use Indesign. I have to instead use the top anchorpoint and reposition. Please reconfigure where the "O" button appears on a text box because it gets in the way of the bottom/center anchorpoint on so many text boxes.

    Using the latest InDesign 2022 (17.2.1) for Mac (The Middle Eastern version--the one that shows English and Hebrew), both on an M1 Mac mini and a late 2015 iMac running Big Sur.

    Import a docx Microsoft Word file into an InDesign file (tried with blank new document as well as one of our templates) with the import settings set to bring in all styles.

    The file is imported but the import has stripped all styles from the document.

    Resave the docx file as a doc file.

    Import new file into ID, which results in all styles being visible as is expected.
    It is my understanding that a restart may also help, but is required each time.

    I can submit a file as needed.

17. An error icon for Background Tasks Circle progress element.

    Try to include one Caution or Exclamation Icon near to the circle progress bar to understand it is not progressing but stuck with error.

    Otherwise users get confused with that the process is going on, and wasting too much time. Presently it is shown only on the Background Task window.

18. jpeg export different RGB numbers

    I drew a blue box in indesign. colour #001f54
    Exported jpeg, the blue box is now #192451

    The file is set to RGB. No matter the profile or colour setting picked it exports as the wrong blue.

    I'm on 17.2.1

    I tried using 16.0
    And no matter what profile I get a different blue (#002055)

20. scroll bar disappears

    My scroll bars are CONSTANTLY disappearing when working in InDesign and using key commands to zoom in and out. This is SO annoying, and I am always having to reset my workspace. Literally fix your buggy software or I'm leaving. This is ridiculous.
