Parent Text Frame Offset when Autoflowing Text
When autoflowing text, the parent page text frame is being offset on every new page that's automatically added.
In the attached screenshot, the top page was manually added and text autoflowed into it from the previous page. The parent text frame is positioned as per the top page.
InDesign versions 17 to 19 (2022 to 2024).
Expect parent page text frame to be in the position it is in on the parent page.
Actual result: text frame is offset and has to be repositioned on every page manually.1 vote -
disappearing text paragraph style
I am using InDesign 17.4 under macOS 12.6 on an iMac Retina 5K, 27", 2017 with a 3.4 GHz i5, 32GB RAM, and a Radeon Pro 570.
When I attempt to create a new paragraph style with an active text selection and check 'Apply Style to Selection', any change I make to the new paragraph style, including simply naming the style, renders the text invisible.
The expected result, of course, would be to have visible text.
The actual result is invisible text.
Relaunching ID, restarting the computer, and rebuilding the preferences file all had no effect. The only workaround I…

Erreur d'importation excel
Bonjour,
Les tableaux Excel ne sont plus importés correctement depuis la version 2020. Les valeurs non numériques caculées sont remplacées par -1.
Ce la fonctionne sur la version 2019.merci d'apporter un correctif de toute urgence ou nous apporter une solution.

Locked Files in InDesign 16 (CC2021) + MacOS 10.14 (Mojave) + special Character Filenames on SMB Share
When opening Files with special characters (german umlauts like äöü) on a SMB Network Share with MacOS 10.14 + InDesign 16 (sometimes on 2nd try) I get a "Document can't be opened, permission problem or already opened" (translated by me).
When downgrading to InDesign 15 or Upgrading to a newer OSX the problem is gone. But I am bound to that Versions because of hardwarecompatibility, so it would be nice to have a fix for that.
I can see, that InDesign 15 on Mojave and InDesign 16 on newer MacOS Versions is creating a lockfile, but InDesign 16 + Mojave…

Importing Excel unformatted table text-based formulas import as "-1"
Indesign 17.4
steps to reproduce:
a) In Microsoft Excel (for Mac version 16.63.1), in cell A1 add "Some text"
b) in cell B1 add formula "=A1"
c) save excel document .xlsx
d) Import into indesign as Unformatted Tableexpected result: table cell A2 contents should be "Some text", same as A1
Actual result: table cell A2 contents is "-1"

BUG/FEATURE: No SEARCH feature for indd.adobe.com documents!
Details: I'm viewing a wine list for the restaurant Cafe Juanita in Kirkland, WA (URL below). Your indd.adobe.com viewer does NOT have a search feature. Which would be super useful on this 28 page wine list! Format replacements are not counted (0 replacement(s) done when formats are changed)
Searching for double line breaks and changing the indentation to 0. It says 0 replacement(s) done, but the condition is in fact found, and the "first indent" is indeed set to 0. See attached screen shots.
Is this behaviour deliberate, since no text contents is changed, only formatting?1 vote -
Can't click through InDesign to desktop or other app + InDesign list panels tilt
When I click on panel boxes to adjust values like font size, transparency, color tone etc, InDesign list panels (swatches, fonts etc) tilt and list elements slip away from mouse selection like they were magnetic.
Can't exit from InDesign window (mouse click to desktop or other apps doesn't work). Functionality can be restored only by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Canc and then Esc.InDesign version: 16.4.2 (and earlier versions)

Indesign 2022 menus not working - renders the software ABSOLUTELY UNUSABLE!!!
Adobe Indesign 17.3 (also happened in 17.4).
MacBook Pro (M1 2021). macOS Monterey v12.4Dropdown menus don't work. If you click, nothing happens, if you double-click the menu appears but, no sub-menus are available. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried 17.3 and 17.4, quit, restarted - all to no avail.
Indesign is unsuable with this bug, this requires Adobe's full attention!!!

Error converting when linking Excel data with a formula returning a blank cell (i.e. "")
InDesign Version: 17.4 x64
When importing data from an Excel document, an error message is received on InDesign whenever the data includes a formula which returns a blank cell (i.e. using IF formula and returning "").
Expected result: All data from range is imported, regardless of whether cells are blank or not.
Actual result: Error message reading: "Cannot convert document. An unknown error occurred during the conversion."
Unable to upload jpeg or GIF (not supported, apparently)!

Indesign published document - not listed on the 'publish online dashboard'
Yesterday I published a presentation and shared it with the client - this morning I went to view analytics for the published document in my online dashboard but it's not listed there. The published document I shared is still working but I have no way to see the analytics for the document. I've tried clearing browser history, signing out of indesign and refreshing browser many times but no change. I can see the other documents that I published yesterday that I don't need the analytics for.
Any suggestions or solutions please? Is this a known bug?

InDesign crashes after making changes to the document after exporting to pdf
InDesign exports to PDF fine. But after looking the pdf over, I usually want to make changes. Making any more than about five changes to an InDesign document after exporting it to PDF will make InDesign crash, regardless of what those changes are. It's happening on every single document since the latest update.

Alttext missing when image is covering spine
When you have a spread with an image that is partially covering both pages, the image gets split into two images when making the PDF. Even when adding alttext to the image, this alttext gets Applied only to the first/left half of the image. The part on the right page has no alttext and is not an artefact. This way you will allways end up with a rejected PDF in terms of Accessibility.

Publish online: Video sound overlaps on multiple pages
I regularly need to upload presentations using Publish Online in Indesign. When you start viewing pages, video sound overlaps and plays despite that page not being selected. I have found that once the pages have finished "loading" in the browser, and you start the presentation again, this no longer happens. However, this doesn't help if you have a client wanting to view the link for the first time, and the sound is overlapping.
I have tried different browsers, and the problem is the same in each one.

missing menu
Having some issues with my menus in Indesign 17.3 / MacOS 12.5.1
A few of them have been showing up blank and I haven't been able to find a fix, and working off the top menu bar in the meantime is very tedious. Any suggestions welcome.1 vote -

large file freezes indesign 2022
newly installed indesign 2022, while opening a small file opens correctly, but while trying to open a large file freezes with no response. happened on to laptops, works great on a stationary. HELP

Problem with going back and forth between Mac created files and PC created files
Updated to InDesign 17.4 and now can not work between Mac files and PC files created in this version. I keep getting the beach ball spinning. And images are shown with bands of color and I have to relink all images.

Fenster nach Ruhezustand verschoben und kleiner
Hallo,
ich arbeite seit 2 Monaten mit Mac Studio und 2x Displaystudio 27 Zoll.
Ich habe das rechte Display-Hauptfenster (1. ) festgelegt. Ich arbeite wie immer Adobe Programme Indesign Photoshop Co., deren Benutzeroberfläche bzw. Fenstern immer offen sind auch z. B. Internet Browser Safari auf linke Fenster platziert. Gesamtes System aktiviert nach 10 Minuten in Ruhezustand bzw. Bildschirmschoner, wenn ich mit dem Mac Studio nichts mache bzw. nicht arbeite.
wenn die Display Studios /Mac Studio aus dem Ruhezustand aufgeweckt wird, sind die Fenster verschoben.
Die Adobe Indesign, Illustrator oder Photoshop-Fenster z.B. das normalerweise am linken Bildschirm die volle Höhe einnimmt…

links problems
Problem on the new INDESIGN 17.4 update with links panel, all my links are OK and files are in the Link folder but cannot export to PDF due to not accessible URL !
I've to manually update every files of every In design project !
