  1. Creating QR code for UK text message using 11 numbers (‭07875701049‬), but get error message. 'No useable data found' on iPhone camera

    Hmm very limited characters to describe the bug!? I just want to report the bug, or find out if I just need to include certain UK or International telephone codes, i.e. I have used the standard 11 numbers for a UK mobile/cell phone, but have also tried adding country and area codes... but still get the same result. Why is it only giving me an option to send this message with a, 'Post idea' button?? I just want to report a bug!

  2. Nach Update fehlt die Möglichkeit ein Bild im Text zu verankern

    Seit dem Update auf InDesign 17.3. fehlt all meinen Bildrahmen das kleine grüne Kästchen das man zur Verankerung von Grafiken in Texten verwenden konnte. Auch das Einfügen eines verankerten Bilder per rechten Mausklick funktioniert nicht mehr. Vor zwei Tagen war die Funktion noch wie gewohnt vorhanden. Gibt es evtl. einen ShortCut, um diese Funktion wieder zu aktivieren oder die Möglichkeit die Software darauf hin zurück zusetzen, dass die gewohnte Funktion wieder vorhanden ist?

    Leider kann ich außerdem in diesem Webformular mit dem unten stehenden Button weder PNG-Dateien noch JPG-Dateien uploaden, um ihnen ein Bild von meinem Problem zu zeigen :-(…

  4. Display settings affect Epub output

    I just spent a couple of hours trying to figure out why one of my images (placed Illustrator file) was pixelating in EPub output. The same image is placed in 6 places, and only in three of those instances was the output incorrect. Image is identically placed in all six instances (size and scaling), the link is valid (not missing), and all export settings were correct. As a last resort troubleshooting this, I realized that in the three locations that were pixelated, the display setting for those three was set to Typical rather than High Quality. I set them to…

  5. footnote

    body text is overlapping with my footnote. I have to readjust the text box very slightly to reset or something to make sure it doesnt overlap and go to the next page. I am dealing with hundreds of foots and having to check each pages for this issue is taking considerable amount of my time. Kindly fix thank you.

  6. Document.metadataPreferences and linkXMP entries only return first delimited value

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create new Indesign document
    2. Choose File menu > File Info
    3. In the Author field, enter "Jack; Jill" (excluding quotes)
    4. Click OK
    5. Run script "alert(app.activeDocument.metadataPreferences.author);"

    Result:
    "Jack"

    Expected result:
    Either "Jack; Jill" or ["Jack","Jill"]

  7. Switching between Cross Reference "Link To" types causes Crash

    Edition Windows 10 Enterprise
    Version 20H2
    Installed on ‎4/‎26/‎2022
    OS build 19042.1706
    Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0
    Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1185G7 @ 3.00GHz
    Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)

    1. New Hyperlink Destination: saved a Text Anchor (paragraph includes a graphic so I don't want to use the Cross Reference > Link To Paragraph option in this instance.)
    2. Cross-References palette hamburger
    3. Insert Cross-Reference...
    4. Change Link To from Paragraph to Text Anchor and it crashes. (I want to use Cross Reference instead of Hyperlink so it will include dynamic page number.)

  8. Parent page issues Indesign 2022

    Facing page document using 4 parent pages. All pages become left pages when converting to single pages. This has never happened in over 20 years of working in Indesign.

  9. Turning on [Remove Blank Lines For Empty Fields] in Data Merge causes anomalies in the preview display

    InDesign 2022 v17.3

    Procedure
    1. Download and extract DataMerge-sample.zip.
    2. Open DataMerge-sample-Id2022.indd in InDesign v17.3.
    3. Make sure Remove Blank Lines For Empty Fields in the Content Placement Options in Data Merge panel is ON.
    4. Click Preview at the bottom of the Data Merge panel, or choose Preview from the Data Merge panel menu.
    5. Click on the navigation buttons in the preview to cycle through the data in the record.

    Expected Results
    Only the content changes. Each line retains its formatting.

    Actual Results
    If the content changes, the formatting of some lines will also change.

  10. Edit page format: Change Landscape/Height Format

    Changing landscape/portrait format via Pages > Edit Page Format does not change the orientation. Direct input of values does not either, only if the values are not equal to the original format.

  11. pages panel scrollbar and accents in spanish

    Hi. indesign 17.3 has been giving a lot of problems lately. The page panel has no sidebar to scroll down and up. There are pages that go blank and I have to restart the program to get the information back. If I type text, the Spanish accents "'" appear in triplicate. Could you please solve these problems?

  12. Style mapping no longer seems to work between Word and InDesign

    Previously I was able to import Word (v16.62) documents into InDesign and map its Paragraph Styles to my INDD template's Paragraph Styles.

    In the latest version of InDesign (17.2.1), this does not seem to work, and the Paragraph Styles only come in in a single style.

    I have gone back and tested this using old files, which previously worked, but they now do not work: the Style Mapping doesn't seem to register at all.

  13. Form elements are not exported correctly into PDF and fail Acrobat accessibility checker

    When I try to produce an accessible PDF form from InDesign, all of the form elements fail Acrobat accessibility checker. In my case, I have checkboxes and text fields.

    For example when looking into a check box element in Acrobat, the text label gets a <Section> and a child <P> tag and the actual form element a separate <form> tag (including the OBJR). How can this be?

    Hallo,

    leider habe ich im Indesign CC, aktuelle Version auf Win10 - 64 Bit, immer wieder das Problem dass Indesign beim Neustart bzw. Start einer bestehenden Indesign-Datei keinen Arbeitsbereich lädt.
    Wie kann eine Einstellung treffen dass der Arbeitsbereich (z.B. Erweitert) automatisch mit jedem Start von Indesign oder Öffnen einer bestehenden Indesign Datei geladen wird.

  15. Swatches panel scrolls when selecting a swatch with wacom tablet

    InDesign 2022 v17.3

    Whenever I select a swatch using the pen on my Wacom Intuous the swatches panel scrolls randomly, sometimes scrolling so far that the selected swatch is no longer visible. This issue happens about 95% of the time while using the Wacom.

    Using the mouse or touch function on the wacom does not have this issue. This issue also doesn't affect any other panels within InDesign.

  16. Table Of Contents Page Number Before Entry and Alphabetical Listing

    I'm on InDesign 17.3 on an Intel iMac Pro (2017) running macOS 12.4 (Monterey), though I have the same problem on my new M1 MacBook Pro (same OS). No matter what I do, no matter what preferences I reset or cache I clear, I can't generate a table of contents with the page numbers before the listing, or generate a table of contents in alphabetical order instead of page order.   17. screen reproduction of color is spazzing out

    I'm trying to get InDesign to display colors correctly. I have synced all my settings with our printer, deleted a cache file (Users⁩ ▸ ⁨username ▸ ⁨Library⁩ ▸ ⁨Preferences⁩ ▸ ⁨Adobe⁩ ▸ ⁨Color ▸ ⁨ACEConfigCache2.lst) that was causing a problem, updated the program, restarted the computer—all the usual suspects. (Deleting the cache file worked for about one second—it repopulated the instant I re-opened InDesign each time).

    Now what's happening is that the appearance of color isn't stable. It changes between two looks, seemingly at random, as I click on things. I've attached screenshots of the two different ways that it…

  19. SmartStream crash

    We are experiencing an issue where InDesign v21 will crash while we are using HP SmartStream Designer. This occurs when we start creating an imposed job, and will fail at different times with our templates. We notice this occurs predominately with the 6x9 postcard template.

    This happens often enough to where we are hesitant to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign, as we are not having this issue with v19. We have tried remaking the template file, which did not fix the issue. Is this a known bug? What steps would be best for us to try next?

  20. appliedLanguage property of text-related objects returns language from application, not document

    When I do configuration for a language in a document, such as setting doubleQuotes, this language can be found in the document object's list of languages and has a different id than the language with the same name in the application object's list.

    But when I access text inside the document – regardless what I inspect, paragraph, words, character, textStyleRange – I expect to get the language properties as set in the document, but instead I get those as set in the app.

    I believe this to be a software bug.
