1. Margins outside page bounds

   In the new New Document setup dialog it is possible to set margins larger than the page dimensions which results in Margins outside the page area. This does not happen with the legacy dialog.

2. [ID-4261362] When using real endnotes in InDesign and exporting as a tagged PDF, the tag tree isn't created correctly.

   When you use real endnotes in InDesign and export as a tagged PDF, the resulting tag tree is not generated properly.
   This behavior can be reproduced for at least for InDesign 16, 17, 18.

   Result now:

   ----<Link>
   ------OBJR
   --ALL CONTENT

   Minium correct result:
   <Note>
   --<P>
   ----<Link>
   ------OBJR
   ------Endnote number
   ----Endnote content

   In addition: The placement attribute for <Note> should be "Block".

   This can only be fixed with a lot of work in the PDF.

3. M1 Mac Graphic Problems Continue

   As others have mentioned InDesign graphic performance on M1 Macs is unacceptable. This was marked as "fixed" but it continues with macOS Ventura 13.0.1 and InDesign 18. For example, the screen does not always redraw when scrolling or jumping to a different page until you move your pointer. Switching to a different program and then back to InDesign also fixes the problem for a while. It doesn't matter whether GPU Performance is on or off. This is the most fundamental functionality. Please figure it out and fix it once and for all.

5. Disappearing caption text

   When adding text to an existing caption in Adobe InDesign 2023, the entire caption disappears. To solve, I can widen the caption box, which our client's formatting specs do not allow, or adjust the text frame options to ignore text wrap, which distorts the horizontal scale of the text. How can I add text to captions without having to change my caption text box's layout?

6. Adobe PDR printer settings option missing

   Hello dear Adobe team,
   my problem is as following: When printing Booklet in my custom settings I am missing Adobe PDF printer option. I cant even install Adobe printer from control panel as suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/add-pdf-printer-manually.html because there is no Adobe PDF option in "Use existing port" option. Could you please help me with this? I am also adding a few screenshots of the problem.

7. Display issue

   Lines and slightly shifted objects. When I scroll up and down theses lines disappear and reappear elsewhere (=> screenshots 2 and 2B). Since the update to CC 2023, these display errors only appear in Indesign, not in other programs.

8. Pdf comments - Sticky notes freeze file

   INDD 18.0 PDF comments has something chronically slow going on with the sticky notes. We have done some testing here and also confirmed by other in the forums https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/pdf-comments-sticky-notes-makes-document-extremly-slow/m-p/13368359#M503963

   If you delete the sticky notes the file will work as expected. But if you have 1 sticky note on a page, any editing on that page is painfully slow!

   WORKAROUND - action sticky notes outside of INDD then delete them and import the file. Not ideal but manageable until Adobe can fix this one.

9. dialog boxes does not appear at all

   There are missing crucial dialog boxes in InDesign 2023 on Mac, like colour or align. Only restart helps.

10. Texts automatically in registration mark colour

    since installing version 17.3 or maybe earlier, every time you make a new text field the colour of the text is automatically in registration marks colour. Why is that? It used to be automatically black. I already checked the portrayal of black, it is set to be correct.
    I wish you would change it back to be automatically black, this is causing problems in printing especially if you're not careful enough when checking your document.

    Sorry my Interface is in german i hope you can still follow the recording.

11. Bloc de texte

    Ma version de InDesign : 18.0 x64

    Ce n'est pas une idée mais je rencontre un bogue. La question est : comment régler ce bogue ?
    Voici la situation :
    1) je crée un bloc de texte. Je peux taper un texte à l'intérieur.
    2) J'appuie sur la touche ESC pour sélectionner le bloc
    3) Le bloc crée alors automatiquement un retrait du texte à l'intérieur. Ce retrait, je l'avais créé auparavant mais il semble qu'il se soit bloqué et que maintenant, tout nouveau bloc de texte se crée avec ce retrait de texte.
    4) J'ouvre Objet/Option de bloc de texte / Général. Je constate effectivement que les "marges à l'intérieur du bloc" sont fixées à 2. Je les remets à zéro.
    5) Je vérifie que le "dimensionnement automatique" est désactivé.
    6) Mon bloc est maintenant OK. Mais, quoi que je fasse, tout nouveau bloc créé se présentera de nouveau avec des marges à l'intérieur du bloc réglées à 2 au lieu de zéro. J'ai fermé InDesign pour le ré-ouvrir : cela ne change rien !

12. PDF comments not accurate

    ID 18.0 on Mac OS 12.6
    Imported PDF comments such as replaced text, inserted text and strikethroughs are misplaced. They appear to move 1-2 characters before the place they show on Acrobat.

    Steps to reproduce the issues
    Setting the active document’s metadataPreferences.author with multiple authors, separated by comma or semicolon in a string via extendscript:

    Expected result
    The authors should be placed into the "Author" metadata field, separated by comma or semicolon.

    Actual result
    The authors are placed into the "Author" metadata field, but all set within double quotes, so they appear to be one author, not multiple authors.

14. List Forms not working properly when exporting to interactive PDF in non latin lagunages.

    I work for a translating company, the list forms items do not export as they should be when building an interactive PDF. Latin using languages are ok, but when doing forms with non latin fonts, I get the forms, full of dots instead of proper characters. I changed the font to ARIAL Unicode MS, which displays great everywhere else, except the list forms. Other Adobe fonts, wont work either. It impossible to know if the World ready Adobe composer is activated inside the form. The rest of the document is IN Adobe World Ready composer.
    Only the first item is visible correctly when exported: In this case ਇੱਕ ਚੁਣੋ (Choose one). Please Help!

15. Absurd translation of the word "spread" in Czech UI

    Please correct the absurd translation of the “spread” on the Effects window. In this context, you cannot translate it as “dvojstránky” (= two pages) but rather “rozšíření” – in InDesign CS6 the translation is correct.

    Please note that in some languages one word can have multiple meanings. For example, in Czech we have one word for month and moon. The words are not interchangeable, you can’t say “the moon of July” in English. But this is exactly how you translate the aformentioned expression!

    It is the same with the word spread in English, it has multiple meanings and cannot be translated with one Czech word.

    I recommend you find another app for automatic translation into Czech, the terminology of new features (fortunately there are not many of them in the last 10 years) are sometimes absolutely pathetic.

16. Embedding video and publishing online

    I tried to embed four small videos (first at HD and then at SD) but the online publishing kept coming up with a error #16 message, when I tried to do this. After trial and error, I only managed to upload three videos into the Annual Report I had put together - not ideal at all.

    This would imply that there IS a limitation in terms of file size when publishing online. The overall size of the InDesign file was 23,560 KB.

    The three videos at SD were: 73,907 KB, 156,488 KB, 48,701 KB. The additional SD video that I wanted to include but couldn't was 492,402 KB.

    This is such a shame as the ability to embed video using the online publishing option is such a game changer.

17. Links palette issue

    Hi there;

    I'm encountering a bug with the "Links" palette. Specifically, for a long list of links, the "Link info" panel doesn't preview properly, but rather overlaps the main list of links. Similarly, if a link alphabetically appears towards the bottom of the list, it isn't possible to select it from the Links palette.

    Hoping this can be fixed with the next INDD update?!

18. Hanging drop cap has wrong indents in 2023 v18

    In v18 (2023), when a paragraph has both a drop cap and a hanging indent (negative first line indent), the indent gets messed up on subsequent lines.

    This came from a bug report by Lut Van Nooten on the InDesign Secrets LinkedIn group:

    The solution is to disable the new Composition Preference: "Honor Text Indents in addition to Text Wrap"

    However, in this case, this is clearly a bug because there is no text wrap!

19. Review Panel

    I'm really enjoying the "Share for Review" feature in InDesign, but I am experiencing some annoying bugs in the Review panel.

    Each time I click on an edit/comment in the Review panel, the program zooms out to fit the whole page in view. Every single time, I have to zoom back in to where I was before so I can get a closer view of what I'm doing.

    Also, the Filter settings keep adjusting without my input. For example, if I apply a proposed edit (like deleting part of a sentence) before marking it as resolved, that comment/edit moves down to an "unmapped comments" section within the panel and it moves my place down to the very bottom of the panel. Each time this happens, I have to reset the filter parameters then scroll back to where I was originally.

    I'd really like to see these issues resolved.
