xml
Version : Indesign CC 2018
Steps to reproduce the issues :
- create a XML file with a InDesign table and two cells (see attached file)
- in first cell add a image
- in second cell add a text
- in a InDesign document, place the structure root tag in a textframe
- import XML file in structure
- BUG : the style in the first cell is missing (because there is a image)
- if you doesn't place the root tag in a textframe before importing the file, the XML file is loaded correctly1 vote -

I lost all Save, Save As, Undo functionality (everything is grayed out). To save my work, I have to export as an IDML .
Lost all Save, Save As, Undo functionality while working.
To save my work, the only thing to do is to export as an IDML file. Force quitting to recover the file doesn't work. This has been happening to me since InDesign 5.5. I am currently using InDesign CC 2018. There are no particular steps, it happens at random. I can have several files open and it only happens to one file, or sometimes it's more than one file. It happens whether I'm working off of my Desktop or on our server.129 votesAs part of the investigation into the cause of this issue, we personally reached out to many of you over email. We have so far heard from only some of you.
Of the responses we have received, the conclusion we’ve come to is:
This issue was intermittent, happened once during the course of work but somehow got resolved and has not happened again. This issue can’t be reproduced now.Over a period of time, this thread has not thrown any fresh clues on why this issue seems to occur randomly for some and then seems to resolve itself. So we’re closing this thread.
However, even though we’re closing this thread, if you again run into this issue any time on a consistent basis, please report it here on UserVoice (in a new thread) with supporting assets like:
A) a test file,
B) detailed steps to replicate the issue

Using tabs with right-aligned text causes crash - CC2017
When I build a paragraph with tabs and right-aligned text, making any edits to the paragraph at all causes InDesign CC2017 to crash. My co-worker experiences the same problem.
1 voteTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

Clip to Frame paragraph shading
InDesign 13.0 x64 Windows
Create a paragraph style with paragraph shading, width set to column. Set positive left and right offsets. Enable "Clip to Frame".
Expected result: Shading does not extend beyond frame.
Actual result: Shading offset is clipped on left frame margin, but clipping is not honored on right frame margin.4 votesHi,
Thanks for reporting the issue.
However, the issue is not reproducible by me. Please can you send a small video along with the sample document at amaarora@adobe.comThis will help us identify the cause and fix it.

Changing font in Character Panel frequently causes a crash in Indesign CC 2018
Since 2018 version, changing a font in the character panel frequently crashes the application, but not 100% of the time. Font worked fine in older version and sometimes works fine in 2018, but the same issue has happened a good few times in the last week or so.

Auto-size text boxes with rounded corners expands randomly.
Version 2018, 13.0
Set a text box to auto size height and width (with no line breaks)
Make the corners rounded
As you can see in the attached jpgs of before and after, sometimes the box expands in width and sometimes in height, but randomly, not wrapping around the text correctly.14 votesHi,
Can you please mail me a sample document to reproduce the issue? I am unable to reproduce the bug.
Is the issue only specific to 13.0? What is the reference point for the autosize?-Aman

high cpu usage indesign
I am periodically experiencing high CPU usage with InDesign 13.0 x64 on Windows 10. The CPU remains high even while not actively using InDesign and doesn't stop until I quit and relaunch the application. This issue only started happening within the past few weeks, probably after the most recent update.
I'm attaching a screenshot from the Task Manager showing 50% CPU consumption. Please note that my laptop is quad-core. That means InDesign is fully consuming 2 CPUs (4 threads) continuously.

Keyboard Shortcut Doesn't Work
When assigning alternate shortcut keys to Edit/Copy (CTRL+INSERT) and Edit/Cut (SHIFT+DELETE), these keys don't function as expected. These keys were assigned in Default, Text, and Table contexts. CTRL+INSERT does nothing and SHIFT+DELETE removes text but does not put it in clipboard. This last one can cause data loss; I have do UNDO the removed text and then cut it using CTRL+X instead.

cc library
InDesign 2018 as soon as its opened the CC Library panel pops up and starts flickering. If you try to do anything in ID it relocates the pointer to the library every few seconds. If you switch to a different program or browser other than ID it takes you back to ID within seconds to the library.
I've tried closing the panel but it just opens up again. I've restarted my machine a few times. Its always the same. It makes it pretty much unusable.

Every time there's a new update I lose all my saved templates.
If I'm missing something I'd like to know. Otherwise, I'm tired of having to recreate these templates every time there's an update.

Unable to perform basic features such as changing of text Font, Styles, Sizes in CC's scriptUI.
Alslo image in button way OFF alignment. This result in uglier customized UIs than it's older versions.
As the world population is getting older, the ability to have bigger font size and style is really needed.24 votesThanks for reporting the issue.

Spell checker in InDesign CC2018 (13.0) has lost its mind
InDesign spell check is randomly not recognising everyday words and when I acknowledge it by clicking Ignore All or Skip, it stops again on the very next word to report an Uncapitalised Sentence. This is happening whether I have the Dictionary set to Proximity or Hunspell.
I cannot find a pattern other than that, but I have now experienced it on ten different InDesign documents. It is very annoying, but I am also left to wonder whether it is actually missing other words that might actually need correction?? PLEASE HELP.
