1. InDesign buffers every 5 seconds

   I am on a new MacBook Pro; every other adobe program runs fine, including After Effects. There shroud be no reason why drawing my second text box InDesign makes it borderline crash. Im working off my internal hard drive and it is happening with every InDesign file. I have the display performance set to fast and I have no other programs opened.

   To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

   We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

   We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

3. Font menu on the Control bar - using the keyboard to replace missing fonts fails

   If you attempt to use the keyboard to amend the missing [square bracketed] font in a given instance, by typing the name, using the cursor keys to select and then pressing enter to confirm, it reverts back to the missing font; rather than the normal behaviour (when a font isn't missing) of designating the font/weight chosen.

4. JavaScript appliedMaster override causes textFrame to move on X axis

   When overriding via JavaScript, the same elements (textFrames) move 0.75" to the right on the x axis!

   This does not happen when overriding master elements on a page manually - everything works as expected i.e. the textFrames don't move.

   I'm using InDesign 14.0.2 x64 on Windows 10.

5. Footnotes are displayed in the middle of the page !!!!

   Everything is in the attached video. Please solve this bug. It happens when dealing with a multicolumned numbered list. The footnote appears then in the middle of the page mixed with the text above !

6. Latest InDesign closes all open projects when closing one.

   InDesign v 14.0.3
   Open multiple files, ie editing two projects
   Make changes to one and not the other
   Quit the one with NO changes
   InDesign quits all files including the one that has changes without saving it first

7. lexmark printer not printing all elements

   We use Lexmark Laser Printer model CS820
   Windows 10 OS

   We use our indesign file as a template to print custom certificates.
   We change the name on the certificate for each customer.
   The printer will not print all elements of a design: i.e. the images and text are missing.

   And

   Files will often not print immediately but will 'sit' in the printer memory for up to several minutes before printing.

   For a print business this is not acceptable. Please advise with working solutions.

   We have a Lexmark CS827 and this works fine.

8. Spell check for Mandarin Chinese

   I would like InDesign and other products to recognize that I am typing in Chinese. A spell check would also be helpful. Currently, it assumes English UK, no matter what I type. (I'm actually using English USA and sometimes Chinese for clients.)

9. Cannot use restrain option or opt/command/shift to make duplicates?

   Something I have been frustrated with since CS 2019 was introduced is starting to really annoy me now. I have not been able to find how to fix the problems but basically ....
   If I draw a rule using the Line tool using 'shift' to restrain the rule to horizontal or vertical does not work, it just floats about at any angle you can think of - I just want to draw a perfect horizontal rule without having to go and edit the position markers!
   Then there's the restrain option to enlarge or reduce shapes/images etc - it no longer works!
   The most useful option of being able to select any object/text block etc and then use 'opt/command/shift to duplicate inline now just moves the object or text block rather than making a duplicate!

   Using CS InDesign 2019 on Mojave 10.14.6

   The solution to the problem was sorted out thanks to the Adobe Support Agent 'Darakhshan' via chat.
   Seems the problem has been keyboard shortcuts that we're not functioning due to my Anti Virus software - all I had to do was disable Secure Keyboard entries (Webroot SecureAnywhere) and BINGO! Everything is now working perfectly!

10. Only loading icon

    Today (10.10.2019) I tried continuing my work in Adobe InDesign (newest CC version), and it refuses to work at all. Upon opening application there is only loading icon. Restarting system, and reinstalling application wouldnt work

11. Find/Replace on a page

    Find can be restricted to Document / All documents and stories.
    How about a restriction to the current page, or a page range?
    And maybe to the visible part of the document, or 'nearby' the current work area?

    In large documents the range of search can be confusing and a cause of errors.

    Another use of this is to quicly find a word or phrase when editing / reviewing.

12. Ellipses not found by Find/Replace

    Version of Adobe InDesign
    14.0.2 x64

    Steps to reproduce the issues
    1. Placed a Word document. Reformatted etc - lots of work done.
    2. Tried to Find/Replace all ellipses to ensure they have a Thin Space before and after. InDesign Find/Replace finds no ellipses (but I am looking at them, having already replaced three periods with ellipses throughout the document).
    3. Tested in a new document - problem does not occur there. But it does if I paste the text from the previous document in.
    4. Tried exporting to IDML and re-opening to remove any corruption. This made no difference.
    5. Tried Find/replace with [None] as Character Style - miraculously ID now finds the ellipses.

    Expected result
    ID finds ellipses when searching for them!

    Actual result
    ID can't find them unless Character Style [None] is also searched for (in Format).

    Test file, screenshot, video or GIF capturing the issue (optional)
    2x screenshots available - N.B. the first one shows both an ellipsis and one which is just three dots ...

13. InDesign White object exports as RGB in PDF/X 2008 PDF

    Not sure if this is a bug or intended but I don't think I have had this before as I have saved this file in the past for printing.

    InDesign Vers. 14.0.3

    White vector object (outlined text in InDesign not Linked/Placed) is changed to an RGB object when exported as a PDF from InDesign using PDF/X 2008 No Conversion Lab Ink Manager Values for Pantones are Lab for Spots & Convert all Pantones to CMYK.

    Tried a test using the Save for Print default setting and it came out fine, as well as testing the Output Color Conversion set to Convert to Destination (Swop) preserve numbers which also did not produce the object as RGD. I tested using the paper colour as well as setting it as CMYK 0000 for the colour.

    My colour settings are set to N/A general purpose.

    If this was a placed object that was RGB white I could understand it not converting to CMYK if I didn't have convert to destination turned on but it is an InDesign Object that is coloured in InDesign using CMYK white.

    Am I missing something?

    InDesign documents are almost unavailable (almost every process).

    Problem: Text Frame Options> Balance Colums> Check

    Workaround: Uncheck

15. Extendscript hangs CC2019 (14.0.2) on macOS

    Code below works fine on Windows and CC 2018 on Mac. But CC 2019 Mac it hangs the app once clicking the OK button in window 2. I've tried three different Macs including Mojave and High Sierra. All the same result. Pretty sure it's not just me. This bug has broken a number of my scripts that present a secondary window for saving settings.

16. Spanning columns sometimes makes my text move to the next page

    I'm trying to span some text and every time I do that text jumps to the next page. I have the keep options to anywhere so it's not a style sheet issue. This seems to be a new bug related to CC2019. Since I am using footnotes and it's going to be accessible I can't fake it and add another text box.

17. Can't Place images after upgrading to Mac Catalina

    Just upgraded my MacBook Pro to Catalina and suddenly I'm unable to place images. When I select Place from the File menu, click on the file I want, the Open command is grayed out. The only way I can get images onto the page is by dragging them from Bridge. I'm running ID 14.0.3, the latest version.

18. InDesign does not load printer settings initially

    When opening the print window, InDesign will not use the settings set in the printer driver. But if you switch to a different printer in the drop down list and then back to the first printer again, the correct settings will be loaded.
    Using latest version 14.0.3.
    Printing works fine in other Adobe-softwares and MS Office.

19. Add attributes of currently selected text or object to the "Find/Replace" dialog

    Here's an idea. It would be cool if the attributes of whatever you currently have selected, be it text or an object, could be quickly added to the Find/Replace dialog as your "search" terms. That way you don't have to go through and find all the attributes you want to search for, you could just select something that already has those attributes applied and then search. For instance, if you selected text that was bold italic, red, and 12 pt of a certain font and paragraph style, then those attributes could be loaded in the search box instead of having to input each of those to find all text that has those same attributes.

20. Resized vectors not displaying properly in high quality display mode on drag

    14.0.2 x64 on Windows 10

    Steps:
    1. High Quality display mode (default settings)
    2. Place any EPS vector file.
    3. Attempt to resize it while holding ctrl-shift to maintain ratios.

    Expected result:
    The vector file, resized.

    Actual result:
    Grey box. I have to zoom in or out to get the screen to "refresh" and show the correct image.

    Similar issue happens with placed AI file. Very simple, clearly. Just a triangle. Made in the latest version of Illustrator.

    The Youtube button is an EPS.

    Related: If I use the option "Greek Vector Graphics on Drag" it performs correctly, only now I'm viewing a low res image momentarily where on a Mac I was not. It's a "fix" but it's not an acceptable solution to a feature that should work.
