  1. Data Merge - Images

    Upon upgrading from CC2017 to CC2018, I am unable to data merge images. Opened previous files and the link PDF (image of QR Code) will not display.

    I've re-installed 2017 and problem is solved.

  2. Workspace disappearing and not being able to get it back

    Sometimes all my right-handed Tools, that I carefully assembled in a workspace i like, disappear, like pages, Colors etc. Although being able to click them in den Window-Menu, nothing appears. The only way to get them back is to change to another workspace and re-create my own workspace piece by piece, which then might last a few weeks before not being able to use them again.

    Any ideas what goes wrong here?
    What should i check?

  3. English (UK) dictionary apparently not working

    Why, when I have set things to PROPER English rather than American English, is the spellchecker still working in Mericanese?

    The attached will show British spellings being highlighted as wrong, yet PROPER English selected in preferences.

    You can select the text frame and change the language in the Control panel
    or you can select a specific portion of text, say a word, in a frame and change the language for that in the Control panel.

    If you want to change the application’s default language, in a no document state, edit the [Basic Paragraph] style in the Paragraph Styles panel (in Advanced Character Formats) category.

  4. Clip to Frame paragraph shading

    InDesign 13.0 x64 Windows

    Create a paragraph style with paragraph shading, width set to column. Set positive left and right offsets. Enable "Clip to Frame".

    Expected result: Shading does not extend beyond frame.
    Actual result: Shading offset is clipped on left frame margin, but clipping is not honored on right frame margin.

    Hi,
    Thanks for reporting the issue.
    However, the issue is not reproducible by me. Please can you send a small video along with the sample document at amaarora@adobe.com

    This will help us identify the cause and fix it.

    We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains fixes for some key issues. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.

    • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.
    • Is the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, can you please share the document(s)/asset(s) with us? Please package the entire document(To package the document, Go to File → Package)

  7. Scrolling too slow

    Adobe needs to improve scrolling speed. When using the slider, InDesign can't keep up with it.

  8. [InCopy] is very slow with some projects, even on a very fast Computer

    We often see a pretty significant drop in performance in InCopy for no apparent reason. This seems to occur on random Projects. As far as i could test there was no correlation with the number of InCopy Files or the complexity of the layout.

  9. overlay panel

    Adobe InDesign CC 2017, Mac

    I want to do an autoplay slideshow with the overlays panel, but the panel overlaps itself, so it's not possible to click anywhere.

  10. HTML ads produced in InDesign are exporting distorted and wrong.

    HTML ads produced in InDesign are exporting wrong. Fonts distorting, bevel and drop shadow not showing up. Several other elements look wrong.

  11. Indesig destroys its files

    InDesign CC for Teams 2018 (13.0.1) ExtendScript (Javascript) with AdobeStock

    Steps

    scenario: slow, instable internet connection or internet connection failure

    Indesign loses cloud linking to library assets
    InDesign freezes
    InDesign crashes
    Active Indesign file can no longer be opened on this computer despite restarting Windows + InDesign

    If the library is shared with other team members, they will not be able to open the file

    Only team members who are not working with this library can open the file

    If this team member now deletes the links to the assets, the other team members can reopen the file.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

  12. [ID-4261359] Path ≠ line if you have a round arrow with an arrowhead as part of the path

    If you have a "round" arrow with the arrowhead as part of the path, the path (in my screenshot: blue) is no longer the same as the shown line of the arrow (black).
    This effect does not occur if the arrowhead is added to the path.

  13. Master-double-page with bleed makes mistake in assigning a single page

    1. InDesign 2017.1
    2. DIN A5 document with double-page and 3 mm bleed. On master-double-page A is no background and on master-double-page B is a full-faced background on the left page and a full-faced background on the right page. If I assign the right page of master-page B, the left page-background will also displayed on the left page (assigned with master page A, where is no background!!!). This just happens if the background of the master-page is set to the bleed (on top-left and bottom). The backgrounds are exact positioned and are not on the opposite page. See screenshots!

  15. When opening two documents as tabbed one window group, ID does not auto-fit the resulting taller window onto full screen

    Make adding the additional document tab fit the resulting tabbed window into the same space the old one without tabs occupied.

  16. Tagged artifacts are not propery exported to PDF

    1. CC 2017.1
    2. Create an InDesign Document with correct tagging, articles, etc. Spend hours because there is no simple way doing this without expensive plugins. Our small monthly payment is used to include more important functions like Stock-Photos. Export PDF, correct some minor errors and check it with PAC. You´ll get many Content errors, because artifacts are not properly tagged. Try to solve it in Acrobat with the tags/order/...-panel. Spend more hours with vanishing objects and many other amusing bugs. Find the Preflight-Tool to tag all objects at once.
    3. Correct tagging while generating the PDF.
    4. Lost my mind ... Please overhaul…

  17. InDesign 12.1.0.56 Mac crashes when launching files from Box.com

    Cannot click on file on Box.com or without crashing InDesign. DO not have problem on other computers with older versions of InDesign.

  18. 2018 Indesign CC Libraries panel turns black after expanding it out

    After installing the newest version of Indesign on my Mac Pro I've noticed an issue with the CC Libraries panel turning black when I expand the panel outwards.

  20. Problem with Ctrl+A

    When you select a file with more than 500 pages with the command Ctrl + A, (to export RTF) Indesign hangs for many minutes. It did not happen in previous versions. Problem detected in Win10 64bit, the last 2 versions of Indesign.
