1. InDesign crashes on launch with Faulty module "PMRuntime" unless launched as Administrator or Creative Cloud Application

   Issue: InDesign CC will not open from the Start Menu unless "Run as administrator" is selected. This is not an option for standard users.

   It will open OK from the Creative Cloud Desktop App.

   Event viewer log is generated showing the following:
   Faulting application name: InDesign.exe, version 13.1.0.76
   Faulting module name: PMRuntime.dll, version 5.0.0.191

   Windows OS: Windows 10, version 1803 (Build 17134.165)

   There appears to be an issue with security permissions or a compatibility issue with the latest Windows 10 build.

   Thank you for patience while we were investigating into the root cause of the issue.
   During our investigation we identified that the issue manifests due to Symentec DLP antivirus software.

   Please find below steps to whitelist the application:
   1. From the Enforce console select System > Agents >Application Monitoring.
   2. Select the application to white list. If it is not listed, click on “add application” and provide at least one of the required application binaries.(Refer to Symentec DLP_Console.png for reference)
   Note: DLP attempts to validate every field populated. We recommend using as few as fields as needed. If the whitelist seems to fail, try changing which required field is populated or removing one of the other fields.
   3. Uncheck all of the detection channels under the “Application Monitoring Configuration.”
   4. Click on save and verify the application in the list of monitoring activities is unchecked.

2. Abstürze nach Wechsel von CS6 zu CC

   Ich arbeite an einem Buch mit vielen Abschnitten, einzelne davon wurden in CS6 bearbeitet und dann brauchte ich CC für die weitere Arbeit. Da in den Voreinstellungen für CC das Wörterbuch "Duden" und "Duden tolerant" empfohlen wird, stellte ich dies entsprechend ein. Unter CS6 war nur "Hunspell" oder "Proximity" möglich. Ich wollte aber weiter dasselbe "Benutzerwörterbuch" verwenden, da ich viele Fachwörter und Eigennamen etc. verwende, die nicht im Duden sind. Nach diesem Wechsel stürzte InDesign CC beim Öffnen von CS6 Dokumenten ab. Ich versuchte es mit System- und NVRAM-Resets. Ohne Erfolg. Es funktionierte nur, indem ich vor jedem Öffnen von InDesign die *.idlk-Dateien löschte, und erst ein neues CC- vor einem CS6-Dokument öffne. Nach vielen weiteren, zeitraubenden Versuchen gelang eine "absturzfreie" Arbeit über 20 Abschnitte eines Buches. Man konnte oft geänderte Dokumente (alle mit gleichen Voreinstellungen Wörterbuch) öffnen, aber es folgte nach einiger Arbeit, wie beim Einsetzten oder Überarbeiten von Text, wiederum Abstürze, die nur mit Neustart des iMac und Löschen von *.idlk-Dateien zu beheben waren. Zeitraubend, ärgerlich und wenig "user friendly"!!

4. lag selecting text

   InDesign 14.0.1

   1. Switch to InDesign from another program
   2. Select either Selection Tool or Direct Select tool
   3. Double click on the text to place a cursor among the text
   4. Double click again to select a word

   Expected result: quick action from step to step

   Actual result: a few seconds of lag

5. Lag in InDesign 14.0.1 when doing ANYTHING.

   Lag in InDesign 14.0.1 when doing ANYTHING. Every time I click my mouse, make a move, do a single thing there is a 20-40 second LAG. This is beyond annoying. I am on a very tight deadline just like 99% of your other users. YOU NEED TO FIGURE THIS OUT ADOBE!!!!! And don't you dare tell me it's been figured out. I'm starting a new post per your request on March 26, 2019. FIX THIS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

6. BUG Keypress doesn´t respond

   With updating to 13.1 March 2018 Update: When you type to a text frame you have to do it twice before the character appears in the frame. I have this problem on two Windows 10 machines...

   Hello All,

   Thank you for your support all this while. The issue is now fixed in the latest update of InDesign.
   Please upgrade to the new InDesign 14.0 from your Creative Cloud Application.

   If you are unable to see the update yet, click on the menu (three dots) on the top right corner of Creative cloud app and click on “Check for App Updates”.

7. more than one file opens

   When I open a file from the thumbnail preview image screen, another file always opens with it. This is very confusing if I work on multiple files that look similar in layout. If I open a file the old way from the File pull down menu, this issue never occurs. Having the thumbnail image preview screen of files is handy, but counter-productive if this bug continues to exist. And it has existed for several months.

8. Choose image among several

   In CC2019 Indesign, when importing several pictures at once and trying to place them in prepared frames, the right arrow to select next image doesn't work properly (slow reaction and only shows next picture while placing cursor on next frame or displaying an image but loading an other one in the frame). Worked well in CC2018. Is this a bug and if yes, how to fix it?

9. Highlighting text in a table does not highlight the corresponding text in the story editor

   CC2020

   When I highlight text in a table, I would expect the same text to appear highlighted in the story editor. Instead, the story editor jumps to the beginning of the document.

    As per our discussion, the issue is not with the thumbnail on the links panel, but rather the one on the place dialog.

    This thumbnail is governed by the OS and Windows OS does not generate the psd thumbnail and just shows the psd file icon as the thumbnail.

11. Indesign 14.0.3 crashes on export to PDF when printer's marks checked

    Indesign crashes on export to pdf, but only when printer’s marks are checked.

    I have removed prefs and cache from the library
    I have removed the app entirely and reinstalled 14.0.3

    Indesign crashes regardless the contents in the document, even empty documents crash like any other.

    I’m running iOS 10.14.6 on a macbookpro mid 2014

12. Tabs

    Adobe Indesign CC2019 (Latest). MacOS 10.14.5. Mac Pro 6,1.
    Tabs do not work. Applying tabs to text does not work. Adjusting tabs does not work. Resetting tabs the trying to set them again does not work.

13. Find/Change | Object | Selection | Won't change colour if in a group

    Hi. I think I might have found a bug.

    Find/Change | Object | Selection | Won't change colour if in a group.
    (It works if 'Search' is set to Document.)

    Shows a test. I want to change the Yellow to Red.

    Shows the top group colour not changing if 'Search | Section' is chosen

    3.png
    Shows both colours changing to Red if 'Search | Document' is chosen

    Can this be fixed please, or an option to Change Items in a group f it was a 'Feature'.

14. Exporting tagged file for 508 pdf the lists are exporting out as paragraphs not <Lb> or <LBL> since updating to ID 2020

15. assignments not showing or saving with file type .icma or including the whole path in the file name

    With the implementation of ID 2020 my team and I have run into a problem saving .icma files. (We are currently using PC's and I have not experimented with a mac yet.) I have found 2 things that happen based on what you do prior to changing the assignment location.
    We have opened our files (all ID 2019 versions), all of which already have stories and assignments attached to them. After making our changes, and before saving the file I go to "Change Assignment location" and the file name is extremely long as it includes the complete path, along with the name of the file.
    The second issue is changing the location after you save the file. Clicking on the "change file location" will only show a portion of the file name with a period at the end but not include the file type (icma). I did do a save without adding the file extension but windows shows it as an unknown file type.

16. Spell Check Defaulting to Check Document. Needs to Default to Current Story

    Spell Check in Indesign is defaulting to checking the entire document. I need it to check the story. Or, at the very least, allow me the option of telling it to default to checking the current story.

17. Cannot open file while InDesign is opened

    399/5000
    I can't open the file while InDesign is open, returning the following message: "Unable to open document
    "3849 ..." You may not have privileges or the document may be open. To allow multiuser access close the file and lock it ... Finder. File> Get Info. But if I quit InDesign and try to open the file, it opens normally ... Does anyone have any ideas?

18. Glyph substitution not working with certain Oriya and Bengali glyphs

    The following words in cannot be reproduced in InDesign. It seems the glyph substitution is not working in about 1% of cases.

    র‍্যানিবিজুমাব — Bengali
    ମହତ୍ଵପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ — Oriya
    ସ୍ଵେଚ୍ଛାକୃତ — Oriya
    କିମ୍ଵା — Oriya

    It looks fine above, in any text editor, or in any Microsoft app, but does NOT look right in any Adobe app I tested, such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop CC 2019 and 2020 of each.
    I am applying the World-Ready Composers.
    I have tried copy+pasting the text from Word and also tried the Place command in InDesign.
    I've tested in both the English North America and English Arabic versions.
    I've tried multiple fonts, as well. No change.
    See attached for examples. Word doc shows as it should be. InDesign shows it wrong. I highlighted the glyphs that are wrong in InDesign as pink.
