1. Random De-selection

   I've found this to be an issue ever since I first started using indesign 3 years ago. Sometimes when shift selecting objects, other random objects that you have already selected will unselect themselves. For example, I am selecting 4 random objects on my spread, I select 1, then 2, then 3, then 4, and object 2 unselects itself when I selected object 4

2. Opening file in Adobe InDesign CC 2018 prevents same file from opening in InCopy CC 2018

   InCopy CC 2018 users get kicked out of file if file is opened in InDesign CC 2018. InCopy CC 2018 cannot open files create in InDesign CC 2018. See attachment.

5. Can not start InDesign CC 2018

   I can not start the InDesign CC 2018 after the update from CC 2017. The program did not start. Nothing happened. Need I some special rights, now? What could be the reason?

   Hello All,

   We have fixed a number of crashes with InDesign’s latest Nov’17 update.
   Please download the latest InDesign version (InDesign CC 13.0.1) for the fix.

7. Weird display bug in bookmark panel

   1. Latest Indesign on Windows 10 (1709)
   2. Open document, open bookmark panel
   3. Show all bookmarks correctly
   4. Bookmarks are randomly cut in the middle of letters
   5. Screenshot attached.

   Info: the INDD file was made in ID CS6 and now opened in ID CC, then saved. TOC and bookmarks have been recreated after this, but the problem remains. The weird thing is, this suddenly happened today. I've been using CC since 11-30-17 and before today it was OK.

    Actual result: non consecutive numbers for foot notes

11. file name variable shows extension when placed in another document

    This is specific use that may not apply to most users, but it did work in previous versions. In Indesign 13.0.1, create a file that uses the file name text variable and then place this document into another document. The text variable should show the name of the file minus the file extension, and it shows correctly in the first file. But when you place the ID file into another file, the extension shows. This worked in previous versions of ID and caught me by surprise when it didn't work in the latest version, forcing me to use the additional step of exporting the first file as a PDF and replacing the linked document with that. This may seem minor, but I do quite a few of these and the extra step is time consuming.

12. InDesign 2018 and High Sierra cannot export correct looking pdf

    pdf will export but it exports a previously saved file. I even tried saving as a new doc and still it exports to the older art.

    Please provide the following information:
    1. What version of InDesign CC (2018) are you using? Is it 13.0 or 13.0.1? You can verify this in the About box.
    2. What do you mean by “it still exports to the older art”? Do the linked files used older linked graphics or the file itself is exporting to an older version of the file?
    3. Is it specific to a particular file or is happening constantly with all the files?

    Also, please share the file with which you are seeing the issue, as a package with all links and fonts, at anasgupt@adobe.com

13. For some reason my design in indesign is not fully visible when i am working on it, even when i select fast display or high quality display

    it is so annoying to be working on my design and not to be able to see all of my work on my screen as so much of it is blank, and is only visible when i export it as a jpeg. THis is so unprofessional and inconsistent when trying to design that i can clearly see all of my work as i edit and improve it. Can you please investigate and improve the software so my work is visible as i continue to edit. Also have the screen is in grey and the other half in white like a triangle, why is this?

    This looks like an issue with corrupt application preferences file.
    Please see if clearing out the application preferences by following the steps mentioned here : (https://forums.adobe.com/message/2404821#2404821) makes the issue go away.

15. Errorcode 2 too now.. (in Addition to Errorcode 4).. Database // Writing Rights...

    After having troubles with errorcode 4 since CC17 and High Sierra, now Errorcode 2 enters the stage :(.

    First Symptoms: If you are working on a document and you have to re-save it under different names, e.g. you are working with a kind of template and have to import assets and save the INDD files... you always stay in the folder of the file after using "save as" ... but in this case the Indesign points to something like "documents" or another default folder after clicking "save as".

    After that i am not able to save the files or load others, because of Error 2 (I don't have the right to save at this (any) location..) or data is wrong.

    Choose File/Print
    Select Paper Size: Defined by Driver
    Click the Setup button
    Click the Preferences button in the Print window
    Change the paper size using your print driver
    Click OK
    Click Print in the Print window

    Now the print area will be mis-aligned, and centering will not work correctly

    Workaround:
    Open the driver interface again, then close it. Paper settings will be correct.

    Tested on drivers:
    Canon ipf 8400, Canon MX922, Adobe PDF

20. InDesign CC 2018 crashes when copying a text box

    I just downloaded ID CC 2018 and every time I copy and paste a text box, whether inside the same document or a different one, the entire program crashes.
