Ability to create a master text file that updates everywhere the content is used, much like DocsFlow or WordsFlow, but better.
I am constantly making catalogs and the proofing process is arduous because we always have to read through text to check for spelling errors, grammar mistakes, etc. If there was a way to create one Master text file (whether it’s an InDesign, Word, Excel doc, etc) and link it to any document, have one or more people edit it, have it update across the board and not override any local changes would be fantastic. Keep text box attributes when creating outlines.
When creating outlines for text, InDesign should separate out the text box and turn that into an object with the same parameters that were initially set. So, if I have white text in a black box with a yellow stroke, the black box with yellow stroke should remain in the layout when selecting "Create Outlines". Right now the box disappears.

Use layout name and custom text for export separate PDFs
Would love to see the ability to type custom text in the suffix for export separate PDF. Also, would like to see the ability to add the layout name from the flyout menu, currently it's only "incremental numbers," "page number" and "page size."

Text form field with several columns
In the case of a text form field, text areas that extend over several columns are automatically recognised and can also be continued in the form.
Good for the following use case: If templates are created where the text is displayed in columns, it would be good if the form fields could also be linked together. So that the maximum number of characters is automatically distributed over the specified number of columns.

Text Styles in Properties Panel - Show Overrides, Clear Overrides
The properties panel in the October 2018 version of InDesign is a great feature, however the implementation of Styles in the Text Insertion mode provides no feedback on whether or not overrides exist in the selected text, nor does it provide a means to clear any overrides. This provides a significant stumbling block for new users, who may end up redefining styles and applying more overrides to their text trying to fix display issues, not realising that the problem is overrides.

Export HTML keep set names for text anchors
When exporting to HTML, the process removes all text anchor naming from InDesign and renames them chronologically (e,g. _idTextAnchor002). This is very frustrating when you want to keep nice, logical names for user navigation, or set an anchor to be referenced externally. Currently, make new anchors links in the document changes other anchors links (i.e. if you place an anchor link between the 1st and 2nd link, that link takes on the id and name for the 2nd link, and all other links get pushed so 2nd becomes 3rd, 3rd becomes 4th). Add space before text on the first line in a text box
For each new chapter in a book, we like to add space before the chapter title, but need to either modify the size of the text box (dragging the top down), or we need to add a paragraph break to act as a work-around to create space before the first line of text.
It'd be great if InDesign had a feature to allow added space before the first line.

When I outlined text today before sending to the printer, extra spaces were introduced into the text. this isn't supposed to happen!

Accessibility feature requests
First, thank you for your recent new/improved features, including endnotes, improved word wrap, and better object tags in exported pdfs.
As a designer, the following requests are not just desirable, they are necessary in order to make my documents fully meet government 508 requirements:

Arched Text similar to Illustrators Envelope.
I would love to see your team make an envelope “arching text” type of option similar to how Illustrator does it, especially if it could maintain its text editing capabilities. This would be very helpful because there are times when I am doing a Banner or Plaque or some other type of layout and the client requests arched text for the individuals names, and this can sometimes number in the range of 50-75 names. Automatic generation of business card qr-code by text content of business card/text boxes
It is very tedious to copy-paste text into the text boxes for qr-code generation. Especially for business cards.

Make Hyperlink Accessibility Alt Text Scriptable
You can create hyperlinks using an InDesign script, but you can't set the hyperlink's alt text. So I can create hundreds of hyperlinks in minutes with a script, but I still have to edit each one manually to set the alt text, and that takes hours.

Paste Text Only from Other InDesign Documents
We regularly copy and paste from other InDesign documents. It is really frustrating that every time we do this the incoming swatches and styles are also pasted into the document, resulting in extensive lists of swatches and styles with similar names. Much like the "Preferences - Clipboard Handling - When Pasting Text and Tables from Other Applications - Text Only" option, it would be incredibly useful to offer this feature for "Other InDesign Documents" as well.

Placeholder text in a cell or in the entire table
I would like to have the option of placing substitution text in a cell of a table or in a complete table.
If I select a cell I fill this one or if I select the complete table I am able to fill the different cells.

Change hypenation-language for all text frames at the same time
I would like to select all text frames on one page and change the (hypenation-)language for all of them at the same time. This would save a lot of time when working with seveal languages in the same document.
I know, that I can add new paragraph styles with the corresponding language setting. But that takes way too much time. In our documents, each language has its own layer.1 vote -
Conditional Text Pallet
Please add the "Show and Print" option next to the "eye" in the "Conditional Text" palette in the form of check-boxes, so that everyone can choose which condition should be printed and which only displayed. Now you can only do this in bulk for all defined conditions.
This will be very useful in the arrangements between the editorial office and the dtp.

Change colour of text dependent on immediate background colour
Some of my jobs involve text being placed on a background image or company logo. Often,, this background has wildly contrasting colours/shades and the text immediately in front of it becomes invisible. I then change the colour of that text from, say, black to white, to render it visible again.
Unfortunately, if there are then any amendments to the text, the white text now lies over a light background and becomes invisible. Currently, I just go over the text with a beady eye and make the amendments accordingly.

Liquid text fields for forms
Allow for text fields to expand (liquid) within middle of a sentence/paragraph. And be able to retain copy placeholder for forms when exporting to interactive PDFs
