1. Error in InDesign

   There is since several (!) updates an error in InDesign which is really stupid!

   If you split the document into two windows (with the button on the right bottom) you should be able having two contents of a document. This worked for years without any problem. Bust since several version this function makes only nonsense!
   We produce a lot of user guides in several languages (usually 3-4, sometimes up to 12 languages). For checking them we open as described the split screen. on the left side we use the main language (for ex. German), on the right side we have for example French (see screen shot 17.16.07. png).
   And now the problem: if I copy for example a warning symbol from the German version (= left side) to the French version (= right) the left side of the screen "jumps" as well to the same page in French (= same content as on the right side; see screen shot 17.16.27. png). This is an idiotically error which makes no sense. It happens as well in the other direction.
   As I said before: it worked for years perfect but for about one year not anymore.
   PLEASE CORRECT THIS ERROR ASAP. It cost me hours and hours to change the sides all time :((

2. Save dialog filename box width

   For the love of mercy, PLEASE make the Save/Save As title dialog box widen with the window! I almost never have enough room to see the full filename, which means it takes additional clicks/keypresses to see the end.

4. Does Boot Camp Work on the M1 Macs?

   Sadly, the short answer is no. It’s probably not what fans of the M1 chip want to hear but because Apple switched away from the Intel models to Apple silicon and decided to kill the Boot Camp assistant, the old way of running Windows on Macs is not possible.

   There is a bit of method to perceived madness here. To take on Intel and create their own chip, Apple decided to go with the ARM chip instead of the Intel-created x86 architecture. It has been a while since Apple introduced ARM chips to power their phone and tablet range so it makes sense to introduce the ARM range for their personal computers too. Going down this route, the end user will benefit from Apps that run on iPhone, iPad, and Mac too while the Apple engineers work on developing chips they’ve been working with previously.

   So, for now there is no Boot Camp to help run Windows on the Mac. Will there ever be? It’s never easy to say for sure, but it doesn’t seem likely. But there are a couple of possible solutions that may see the daylight.

   Also, To Secure your macOS from virus and trojans, use always a mac optimization software. I recommend to use Mac optimizer.

5. Add a warning in dynamic spell Control when writing two or more spaces between words

   Add a warning in dynamic spelling control when writing two or more spaces between words like most document softwares have like Windows Word .

   This wish I have asked for some years ago but with no result.

   I use InDesign mostly to write booktext directly in the books which I prefere to be able to combine text with pictures (in my last book there were more than 700 links tp pictures in 352 pages)..
   When you change a text you have written it is very easy to add an extra space which the automattic text placement often makes it very difficult to discover.

6. Ability to scroll pages even in the export pdf menu.

   In previous versions was possible to scroll in pages tab even when the PDF export dialog window was open, that was great to scroll in content and select all pages I needed to preview printed.

   Not sure, if it wasn't just bug before but I am missing it now.

7. search

   Make the search bar visible when users press CMD+F (or windows alternative).

   At the moment, when you click to search text on a document that's shared for review, it seems like the search bar doesn't appear. But in reality it's hidden behind the comments panel. You have to close the comments/preview panels to see it.

   This causes a lot of "there's no search bar" comments from users, and we have to specifically tell them now when we share for review "it's hidden. Close this panel".

   The search function should always be visible when someone presses CMD+F.

8. Bring back the old "New Document" window

   When clicking "New Document", the old UI was fast, simple, and just worked. I could switch between web or print, or select A3, US business card, Letter, whatever preset, in one click each, and set to work.

   Now I have to go from "Recent" to "Print", then expand presets with "Show all presets", then scroll very precisely down to the correct preset - all because you've decided to flood the bloody thing with your templates. If I ever wanted to make some bland, generic stuff from user-friendly "templates" for whatever reason, I'd open Word.

   Sorry to see you facing issues with the new “New Document” dialog.

   In InDesign there is still an option to revert to the older dialog by going to Preferences > General > Use Legacy New Document dialog.

   This should make the older New Document dialog come up from then onwards.

9. Restore adjustment arrows in Transform window for X/Y and W/H values

   When InDesign updated to the 2024 version, I lost the ability to use the Essentials Classic layout with the Properties bar at the top instead of the right, and in the Transform window, either as part of the Properties bar or on its own, lost the up and down adjustment arrows with seemingly no way to bring them back. I prefer being able to make tiny adjustments by sixteenth increments rather than at random or just eyeballing it and this change is absolutely driving me insane. I've rolled back to the previous version for now, but I know you all won't let that stand for long. Please restore the option to have incremental adjustment arrows and a top bar for Properties.

10. wrap the first line of text around an anchored object

    Please please give me the option to wrap the first line of text around an anchored object. It could even just be a checkbox in the Anchored Object options window. I run into this problem all the time and the band-aid fixes of manually adjusting the indent or trying to put the image at the bottom of the previous line of text take so much unnecessary time.

11. Overhaul Bullets and Numbering and add features to make it useful.

    Right now the bullets and numbering features are so limited and feel like an afterthought. Here is what I need in order of importance:

    1. The ability to format bullets/numbers so they ignore extra line spaces.

    2. The ability to align the bullets to the center. When one bullet's verbiage is longer than one line of text the bullet stays on the first line, what I need is for the bullet to be centered with all of the lines of text in that bullet, so if you had a bullet that was three lines long, the bullet would be centered to the middle; or if two lines long, the bullet would be centered in between the two lines.

    3. Give Bullets and Numbering its own window panel. Otherwise I have to hunt it down, google it, etc. Opening paragraph window and then clicking the hamburger icon is not intuitive.

    4. More customization of the bullet symbol. Allow me to easily customize color, size, and spacing from the bullets and numbering panel. Also include more stock shapes and options to choose from that aren't just derived from a font. Allow me to import my own custom shape to use a bullet.

12. Please add automated color bar, separation color information - Print PDF export

    Hi! I am missing a choice in PDF export. In the print industry is needed to add colour information for the customer, what colours is the artwork made from - esp. when we use solid colours. Customers need this for the approval process so we have to add this colour-bar manually. In the PDF (composite PDF) window there are Marks and Bleed choices, but there is missing a choice to choose a colour information automatically generated from the document colours - separations. The colour information can be graphical (squares with separation names) or text based (separation name in that colour). P.S. posted for Illustrator too.

13. When creating hypertext links, please add the ability to configure the link to open in a new browser window.

    Many of the PDFs I create are opened and viewed via Web browser. It's annoying to the user -- and takes them away from our content -- when they click on a link and the link opens in the same browser tab.

14. Show/hide buttons

    We are working on interactive brochures with indesign but it is really difficult. If you have a page with a high number of buttons it is almost impossible deal with them because the window ("show/hide buttons") to control them is too small, you can't resize it and you can't change the position of the elements inside it...

    Could you please solve this problem?

15. highlight filename by replacing link

    when i replace a link, it appears a finder/explorer window of current folder of the current link, but the file IS NOT HIGHLIGHTED! why? it's the most terrible bug! i can remember it worked well until cs5.5 or 4.0!

    when i need to replace the link, i need to find it in the folder at the first sight.

16. Differentiate Native Styles vs Styles that came in with copy/pasted text

    I would like for there to be some type of differentiation between Styles in documents when copy/pasting or bringing in new styles. Old styles get mixed up with new ones, some have the same names (body copy for example) so it's hard to tell which ones are from pasted copy and which are the ones I'm currently using in my document.

    Open to any format as long as the Styles from the original document are all in one grouping and any styles from Copy/Pasted text are in another distinct grouping. This could be done by folders, or color-coding, splitting the tool window, etc

    There might be one or more of the following reasons behind the occurrence of QuickBooks Error 15241:

    1. The File Copy Service (FCS) in QuickBooks Desktop is turned off. This service is critical for the QB application's and payroll service's functions.
    2. The downloaded file was tampered with in some way.
    3. Alternatively, if the QuickBooks installation was not completed correctly.
    4. If the windows registry files were corrupted as a result of installing QuickBooks, the identical problem would appear.
    5. One such explanation could be a Trojan assault.
    6. In the event that some QuickBooks-related vital files are accidentally erased

19. A search and replace that is a series of search and replaces

    Often users need to run a series of search and replaces on a document. Why not create an S&R that runs a series of S&Rs in a user-defined order. It'd be great for cleaning up text. Also, allow users to decide if each S&R is run as "replace all" or with the user deciding each replace.

    In addition, allow S&Rs to be run automatically when text documents (typically from Word) are placed. Choosing that would be one option in the Place window.

20. OS Specific Features Lacking

    I can respect that you want to keep the CC base code clean of OS specific features, but I HATE subscriptions and I HATE the fact that you make the apps feel like 2nd class citizens on Mac. Two examples:

    1) Full screen windows.
    2) Full Dark Mode support.

    I won't go into details as I am sure that any developer / engineer working on these products on a Mac knows exactly what I am speaking of. There was a time when I truly loved Adobe products and thought it was a fair company. Today with subscriptions and attitude, I'm looking for ways to leave them behind. I no longer recommend Adobe to anyone getting started in graphic arts. Adobe is EVIL.
