this is critical now especially when creating interactive documents where a url is required for each data block. Importing 100’s of entries in seconds is fine but it is then pointless when you have to manually add each url to 100’s of links….

Now everything is Online, I can have the artist add the images to Shopify and I can use those images uploaded in Shopify to the Catalog being built for the wholesalers.

This is MyDataMerge, an external application for managing data merge in InDesign made by 3 guys. They added so many features to the datamerge including hyperlinks in a few years. Why can't you?

Hi all! I was having the same issue and just found a solution :)

Include your hyperlinks in your InDesign document text as you would for interactive PDF. When running your merge, instead of choosing "Export to PDF," which only gives you print PDF options, thus losing the hyperlink, choose "Create Merged Document." This will merge everything into a new InDesign doc, creating all of your variable pages, with the links intact. At that point, you may export as interactive PDF. Woot!!

2000+ datamerged documents that have to be manually updated to activate the url inserted via data merge. Is this the way to produce professional output Adobe?

The year will be 2022 and you still haven't come up with a solution how we will add a hyperlink to an object or text using data merge :(

Adding my voice to this being a useful intergration! Generating a product listing PDF that I want to include URL to that product online.

Yes! In Data Merge would like to be able to assign data from one field to be the hyperlink for a block of text from another field.
