1. Give an indicator of page's section when creating hyperlink.

   When there are multiple page section in the document and each of them has a page number restart again from one, e.g.
   Section 1: Page 1 to Page 10
   Section 2: Page 1 to Page 25...
   and have to create hyperlink, all these page numbers repeat. To find the correct page it is necessary to scroll and check carefully which page with number 3 for example you need to hyperlink (page 3 from Section 1 or page 3 from Section 7...). My proposal is to create short index (maybe the first letters of senction's name) beside the page number in the drop-down menu, so the user could easily identify to which page is creating the hyperlink. Selecting the Section from a drop-down menu before choosing the page number would also work.

2. TOC Page number BEFORE and align number RIGHT automatically

   InDesign has offered the ability to put the page number before the text entry in a generated table of contents for quite some time. However, if you have more than 10 pages, pages 1-9 don't align right (as they should - or if more than 100 pages, 1-99). It would be great if you could have that done automatically without adding a tab stop in the paragraph style and manually adding a tab before each page number.

3. Bring master page "to front"

   I wanted to know if there's a way to use the auto page number feature on top of images. I'm creating a children's book that has images on all the pages. I want to number the pages, but since it sits on the master page, it's always behind the images. Is there a way to bring master page items to the front without breaking the link to their auto-ness?

4. Find/Change Panel -> Dockable ?

   I'm struggling with screen estate here (laptop, no other screen) and was wondering about the Find/Change window.

   It's floating on top of everything, like a modal window, but you still can interact with everything underneath.

   So it is basically acting like a panel.

   What I am missing here is an icon + the option to dock it and hide and show when needed.

   It is quite a large panel so it very often hides things (results, context) under it.

   What about 3 things :
   1. "make it a (real) panel", don't change design quick and dirty, but already solves the result display visibility issue.
   2. make it fit the thinner panel size by putting all the find/replace buttons at the bottom
   3. make it thinner and put all the find/replace buttons at the top, so we focus on search + text mainly and the buttons don't move from less/more options.

5. [Feature request] Please add "Page Flip" to presentation mode

   Please add a "Page Flip" feature to the presentation mode in Adobe indesign. Something like this: https://pageflip-books.com/#meetpageflip/page/4-5 ...

   Adding the ability to turn/flip pages in a multipage document, it will enhance the user experience. When clients are seated next to the designer, it will also improve customer satisfaction.

6. Prioritize Adobe Photoshop in “Edit With” context menu

   Currently, InDesign relies exclusively on the operating system’s default application associations when generating the Right-click → Edit With menu for linked images. As a result, users often see irrelevant applications such as Microsoft Edge, Word, or generic photo viewers, while Adobe Photoshop (the natural and professional tool for image editing) does not appear by default.

   This workflow inconsistency is counterintuitive for professional users:

   InDesign is part of the Adobe Creative Cloud ecosystem.

   Photoshop is the industry-standard editor for images.

   Most users expect seamless integration between InDesign and Photoshop, without having to manually browse for Photoshop each time.

   Suggested improvement:
   InDesign should detect the presence of Adobe Photoshop on the system and always prioritize it at the top of the “Edit With” menu for supported image formats (JPG, PNG, TIFF, PSD, etc.). This would align with user expectations and the logic of Adobe’s integrated workflow.

   This change would save time, reduce confusion, and strengthen the cross-app consistency that Creative Cloud users rely on.

7. Image Object page break

   Make a page break for an image object become a separate page/xhtml doc in epub export. Not just something in the code, but an actual page, so that that if I say page break before image or after or both, it separates the image onto it's own xhtml doc and truly breaks it. Just like the split page export option in a para style, this would be helpful for objects to be treated the same way.

9. Publish Online should include a print option + spreads with Two-Up Continuous (Cover Page)

   Published Online files should include a print option that sizes a page to a printable option. Currently if I upload our publication (a coupon book) to Publish Online and we try to print the page shown on the screen it crops most of the page regardless of the browser used. You can shrink your window and sort of get the desired result, but we don't think most of our readers will know how to do this. Also it would be nice to be able to select a page range of what to print. I know you can include a pdf to download, but pdfs are not secure and can be manipulated by someone with a little knowledge of pdf editing. We don't want the public to be able to change what we publish, potentially causing fraud with our advertisers.

   Inclusion of a Publish Online option like what pdf export has of spreads with Two-Up Continuous (Cover Page) would be a nice feature too.

   Publish online is nice, but I think it has some ways to go still. We may resort to paying for 3rd party services like Issuu, flowpaper, or similar companies to get the result we are wanting.

11. UI setting grayed out/can't use at necessary screen resolution

    I use a very large TV monitor, so I can see all my work, and as such, the screen res is higher, but your UI scaling feature is grayed out, and info says it's because of my screen res, so does not allow those settings. It's the only software I own that does not enlarge UI along with everything else. Do you not think that if we need a larger screen, we don't also need a larger interface??? We are not all squinting at laptops when we design books. As such, I can't make out the panel and menu options/ text. My eyes aren't what they used to be, and it causes lots of eyestrain and headaches (literally) and is the reason I stopped using ID years ago. I came back hoping that in 2023, they'd have fixed this, but NO. I pay for the use of Adobe products, and I expect them to be usable, and this is not the case with ID.

12. Enable the user to select specific pages, spreads or page ranges to share for review

    I would like to be able to create a link (to share for review) for specific pages or page ranges, so I can send a stakeholder the work applicable to them and not sharing my whole document with them.

13. Export from Pages Panel

    The Pages panel — with pages selected — has a "print spreads/print pages" option in the contextual menu.

    An option to export the selected spreads/pages to PDF would be useful, especially if it could be done seamlessly, without need for the Export Adobe PDF dialog.

    Alternatively, the CMD-E shortcut with pages/spreads selected in the pages panel should bring up the Export Adobe PDF dialog with the selected page range already entered.

    This would be especially useful when exporting contiguous pages!

    Mac: Selection or Direct Selection Tool -> Command + Shift + Click

    To prevent any print resulting sources of error.

15. Tabbing Order when creating a new document

    When tabbing on NEW DOCUMENT, the tab order goes from Width - Units - Height. It should go from Width - Height - Units. Illustrator does this correctly, Indesign has them in different (and distracting) order. Consistent between apps would be helpful!

    It would be very helpful (especially when designing stationary items as calendars, organisers, et) to be possible to create the auto current page number marker with ordinal numbers like 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th...

17. More intuitive Page move UI

    Pages palette:
    In a non facing pages document, when moving a page, the indicator line for the destination is shown beside a page. I would expect it above/beneath a page.

19. Clear/erase "recent file" list.

    Untill the new open/splah dialog, the recent file list wasn't a problem.
    It was hidden into the File menù, and was almost impossible to see it.

    Now with the new open / splash screen everyone is able to watch the document you opened previously.
    In some occasion this is not that nice, especially if you work for someone and some of them competitors...

    It could be useful to introduce an "erase recent document" at the end of the list in the File->Recent file menu.
    As many other softwares has.

20. Add a built in HTML5 Page Curl Effect please

    At the moment Indesign still only offers the SWF option to create a page curl effect and with Flash player soon to be no longer supported, and currently it only works intermittently now, it would be very useful to have a built in html5 version. At the moment the only option is to purchase an expensive plugin from In5 to do something I think Indesign should have?
