Regarding New InDesign PDF Editing Feature
Hi,
I hope this message finds you well.
We recently became aware of a new feature currently in beta within Adobe InDesign, which allows users to open and edit PDF files directly in InDesign. While we understand this can be a powerful enhancement for many workflows, we would like to raise a concern from the perspective of an enterprise customer.
We frequently shares open PDFs with clients and external partners for review and approval purposes. The ability to convert these PDFs into fully editable InDesign files—even in its current limited beta stage—presents a significant risk to the security…

Open pages of a pdf file in a single InDesign file
I always face this problem where I need to open a single page of a pdf. file to do amendment. It’s difficulty when my client doesn’t have the working file (indd). I hope adobe is allowing me to open all pages of a pdf. file in a single InDesign.

Add Options to remove bleeds and cropmarks while Import PDF comments
Sometimes I get PDF files with corrections to be applied to the next printing addition.
Usually publishers apply such corrections to the production PDF, with format cropmarks .
InDesign can import the PDF without bleeds and crop marks (as you turn on the import options), But.... unfortunately PDF Comments, there is no such option that you can opt out of crop marks and bleeds, etc.1 vote -
Missing Native macOS PDF/Email Workflow Support
As a macOS user, I’m frustrated by how the Adobe suite bypasses one of the platform’s most useful features: the ability to generate and email PDF files directly from the Print dialog.
macOS includes a built-in PDF menu that allows users to save a printout as a PDF or create an email with the PDF attached—no intermediate steps required. It’s fast, efficient, and built for productivity.
However, Adobe applications ignore this native integration. Instead, we’re forced to go through an outdated and cumbersome process: export the document as a PDF, save it manually, open an email client, and then…

Please expose a PDF's page count to scripting
To place a PDF in InDesign, you have to know the PDF's page count. The main point of the PlaceMultiPagePDF script is to show how you can place a PDF without knowing its page count, but it's slow business and get very tedious when you want to place part-ranges that include an open-ended range, such as 10-20, 30-
There is a hack, but it's ugly and unreliable.

Please add the possibility to place multi-page ID and PDF files like multiple images with gridify function
When placing a multi-page InDesign or PDF file it should be possible to use the gridify function the same way as when users place multiple images.

Allow upload of alternative PDF for download
An essential option really, to allow a flat non-animated version of the online publication that's being viewed.
As we all know any level of animation or pop-ups elements will end up on the downloadable PDF version making it almost useless.
Unless anyone knows a workaround?

In Indesign interactive PDF buttons set link destination options for opening the url
In Indesign interactive PDF buttons set link destination options for opening the url
like blank page, self etc...just like in html is possible.
So when you view a interactive PDF online and you click on a link the destination opens in a new window or tab, just like you selected in Indesign. And not only in the window you are viewing.

Create button to open PDF file in a separate tab, from InDesign
If I create an interactive PDF with a button to open another PDF, it overrides the currently open PDF with no route back to the original PDF. In InDesign, it would be useful to be able to tell the button to open the file separately rather than overriding the original. This is obviously only an issue if it's a PDF as other file types will naturally open in their native program, ie: .doc for Word.
The current work-around for this is to create a link field directly in Acrobat to open the file, as this allows for opening …

Open PDF in INDD
It is utterly nonsensical that PDFs can be opened and edited in numerous apps, in particular Affinity Publisher, while InDesign cannot. Even Illustrator can do it (with various limitations).
If Affinity and Markzware and so so many others can manage it - and reliably and accurately manage it - it's farcical that InDesign can't.

export pdf
In my previous version of InDesign CS5.5. I could immediately type a number in and it would replace the page range. Now i have to tab to that section or manually select the range with my mouse. It doesn't sound like a lot but it greatly slows down my workflow...

Options to enter #firstpage #lastpage in PDF filename
It would be great if you could add the option to add #firstpage and #lastpage to PDF filename. Lots of typographers require that in order to keep publications in order.
I work for a monthly magazine and in our workflow we create single articles that we gather into an InDesign Book. This would avoid the need of renumbering ALL the publication filenames – in case something changes in the articles order of appearance – and rebuild the Book before the PDF creation (I do this via a script by Peter Kahrel that exports the Book as single documents)2 votes -
Pdf-files export to Indesign
I am missing the following function in Indesign: You have, as an example, 100 pdf files, format A4, and you want to print them 2 on an A3 sheet, but in such a way that the pdfs number 1 to 50 are shown on the left in the file/paper, and on on the right the pdf's of nr 51-100. If you then cut the A3 in the middle, you have two piles with all the PDFs in order of number.

Convert imported bullets to bullets when assigned bulleted style.
When you assign a bulleted paragraph style to pasted or imported text, convert the imported bullets to the paragraph style bullets (instead of treating the imported bullets like the rest of the text resulting in bulleted bullets). It's tedious deleting, either manually or via F&R, all the imported bullets.

Password Protect PDF Properly
I spoke to the support people who seemed to believe that it ok that locked pdf can be edited by third party software just not adobe software. If it is editable by anything it isnt protected. There should be something that allows you change the way it locked a little with each update. Make the the people who ***** them open work atleast a little...

Allow interactive elements when exporting print pdf.
If anyone needs to create a template with bleeds and crops that can be filled out by another party and sent to print, they have to use PDF form fields which doesn't have a paste in place feature so the elements aren't shifting around a page. Also, if I have to make edits to the InDesign pdf, I have to copy, paste and rearrange the form elements over again.

Support "Go-to-Page Button" interactivity in a PDF
It would be nice to create a BUTTON that links to another page in the document (PDF).
Don't quite understand why this type of button interactivity is "dropped" in the first place.

Combine single page PDF into a spread from Books
When using Books and exporting to a PDF, if you have single pages, they just show as a single page. Maybe have an option to combine single pages into a spread.

Predetermine Adobe .pdf settings for Publish Online Documents
I post interactive documents in a double page spread with Publish Online, but when it is downloaded, all the interactivity is stripped out and it downloads as single pages. What is the point of posting an interactive document in a spread format if you can't download it, as an interactive document in spread format!
I would like to be able to predetermine the .pdf download options before publishing online ie double page spread with (cover page) and choose the interactive elements to be included. That way when they press download .pdf it is downloaded with all the interactivity…
