Create button to open PDF file in a separate tab, from InDesign
If I create an interactive PDF with a button to open another PDF, it overrides the currently open PDF with no route back to the original PDF. In InDesign, it would be useful to be able to tell the button to open the file separately rather than overriding the original. This is obviously only an issue if it's a PDF as other file types will naturally open in their native program, ie: .doc for Word.
The current work-around for this is to create a link field directly in Acrobat to open the file, as this allows for opening PDF's in a separate tab. This is fine but as the InDesign file is the master and likely to go through changes, this means reapplying the same link setup repeatedly. It would therefore be very useful to have this feature built into InDesign as it's already available in Acrobat. Thanks!
