object style override plus-sign when multiple elements selected
>>>Object style made. Works fine.
>
> Multiple items on page need same style. When applied to ONE item, styles menu looks "normal." When applied to multiple items, with items selected, the styles menu shows plus-sign after style name.
> All of "clear overrides" options tried. Does not fix. Cannot verify that use of style is correct if styles panel gives false feedback.
> In the past, earlier versions, I don't remember ever seeing this apparent conflict.

formatting
>>>There NEEDS to be a way to keep formatting when copy/pasting. I need to keep formatting when copying text from .docx and pasting into indesign. This is a MUST! Us copy editors need this ability. Using textedit/notepad and copying from there doesn't work (that is the solution recommended to me by technical support). Please Please PLEASE fix this!

Copying a page: Wrong position
>>When making a copy of a page, for example a copy of page 1, the new copy lands on a wrong position in the page palette.
…
> 1. Click and drag page 1 in the page palette while holding the alt-key. Then move mouse to the right, until a line appears between pages 1 and 2.
> 2. Releasing the mouse button should result in a copy of page 1 between the original page 1 and 2. All subsequent page numbers should increase by 1.
> 3. Instead of landing on position 2, the copied page appears on position2 votesWe have released InDesign CC2019.0.2 with lot of bug fixes. If you are not on 14.0.2.324 then I would recommend you to upgrade to latest version as it is more robust.

Selecting text is offset slightly so you select the wrong characters
>>Selecting text is sometimes really difficult as where you click is slightly off from what InDesign thinks you're clicking on. That means that when you highlight a word, it often misses the first character that you're trying to select. You then have to move the cursor slightly over another character for it to highlight it.
>>It's really frustrating as it doesn't seem to happen in all documents. The ones I'm having issues with at the moment use the customer's own font but I've been using that same font for about 5 years with no issues until now.

Data Merge to PDF ignoring text variables in tag line

>>Data Merge to PDF ignoring text variables in tag line
>>I posted the previous in Communities over 5 years ago on Sep 13, 2019 and it still hasn't been addressed.
>>Is there any reason that a file merged directly to a PDF (rather than to an Indesign file, then saved as a PDF) would refuse to parse text variables set in InDesign?
>>Document has text variables selected so that final will have a tag line with date and page count.

"Same" font sizes, but they're not
>>>In the most recent version of indesign, when I copy or duplicate a text box, the font size says it's the same, but it is about 2-3 points bigger. Even after eyedorpping the previous style, it doesn't change. I have to manually make a new text box, recreate the font details before copying and pasting it into the box.

Text wrap around anchored objects needs to work according to settings. It is inconsistent and erratic.
>>Text wrap refuses to wrap properly around my anchored objects regardless of anchor placement in the paragraph or text wrap offset settings.
>>This causes the object to overlap the text and/or have inconsistent margin offset around the object. It's erratic and inconsistent among the various objects, even though they all have the exact same object style applied.
>>Some of the objects wrap a little better than others - at least they're not overlapping on top of text - but the wrap margins are still inconsistent. Not a single object wraps how I believe it should based on

A problem about converting right-to-left text to the newest version
>>Hello,
…
> I have been using Indesign v18.5 and created a lot of documents for a book in Hebrew and Arabic.
> My paragraph styles have the property "Character Direction: Default" which, of course, organized my text as RTL for Hebrew and Arabic, and LTR for English text.
> After converting the documents to the newest version (v19.0), some (and only some) of the punctuation marks (such as ".", "!", "?") and even some of the spaces, were placed in a wrong manner: to the right side of the text, instead of being placed to the left of the1 vote -

Right-to-Left and Left-to-Right text boxes and style sheets are confusing
>>Dear Adobe InDesign Team,
>>Please simplify how users specify left-to-right Western language text boxes and documents versus right-to-left Middle Eastern language text boxes and documents in the multi language version of InDesign.
>>There are no fewer that four places where paragraph direction and language specification appear in various places in the InDesign workspace.
>>Users would benefit from simplification of language-switching tools, because InDesign's interface does not readily expose what language text direction it is using and sometimes switches paragraph direction without users knowing what these international language settings are defaulting to.

If the two text boxes are connected, how does the footnote restart from ①
>>>I have a book that needs to be typeset that is single-column and contains footnotes, but the footnotes start at ① for each article.
>>I don't want to go through and break up each article. I'd like to typeset it in just one text box, but it seems like the footnotes can only be connected.
>>Is there any solution to this?

InDesign 2021 crashes when opening some panels
>>>For example, I select some text and click to open the Hyperlinks panel. ID crashes straight away.
>>Or I select an anchored object, right click to select Anchored Object > Options. The panel comes up with 'Inline' selected and then I click on 'Above Line'. It crashes straight away.
>>I've had a similar problem working in tables, when I right click to delete a row, it crashes immediately.
>>I've had to go back to 2020 to be able to work on some of my documents.

Indesign CC2018 crashes on Cmd-V
>>>I'm working on my masters and using a Split Window to copy and paste text from the same document into a list of references. Cmd-V crashes Indesign. With no warning, or hang, it literally shows me the desktop, no save, nothing. Thankfully auto recover sorts it out, but this is something Adobe needs to look at. I can't tell if there is anything special about the text other than it was a web link and had a paragraph style.

Facing-page layouts always have one un-editable page
>>>If you set up facing master pages with a text frame on each, you can only set the text frame as "primary" on one of the pages. That means every other page you create from the master will be un-editable. This defeats much of the purpose of a master page, and provides no benefit.
>>The only semi-workaround is to connect the two frames, but this is not always acceptable. Sometimes it is necessary to keep the stories separate.

Spacing text is different in InDesign 2021
>>>When opening a document in version 2021 which is created in 2020, the text looks exactly the same, but when you try to change the spacing of a word, the whole alinea is recreating a whole new spacing. Looks like it has something to do with metric, but it's really annoying. Spacing one word means re-spacing the whole alinea. Anyone else experienced the same?

Colours not previewing when changing Paragraph rules and text colours
>>>When changing the colour of text or paragraph rules in my document, the colours are not changing on the page - they are still showing as white, even though both rules and titles have been changed to orange.
>>If I drag the text block off the page to the bleed/slug area, the correct colour change can be seen. When I export the pages to PDF the colour is also showing up correctly, yet I can’t see them when working in the document. See screen shot below.
