PDF Comment Loading in the Master Page
>>>We have recently updated to 2020 version. In the previous version when I load PDF comments in InDesign they appear in the pages where they are suppose to appear. Now, in the 2020 version, they appear in the Master Page. Why is it like this?
>>Also may I suggest when copying text in the PDF Comments panel that the "Command+C" be activated as this is more instinctively than clicking the "Copy" button from the panel.
>8 votesFix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign 2020 – that is, InDesign 15.0.1
In the Creative Cloud Desktop application, click on the Updates section on the left. You should be able to see the Update available for InDesign. Please update your InDesign application to this version to try out the fix.
Let us know in the comments section if you face any problem with the updation process.

Text wrap select subject or user-modified path causes hang ID 16.1
>>Using ID v 16.1 on an iMac running Catalina.
>
> To reproduce: I just have to touch any image that has select subject or user-modified path text wrap applied and attempt to move it or modify it in any way. One image just caused the hang by existing, I couldn't work on the file until I deleted it.
> Expected result: For the text to wrap around the image without causing program to hang.
> Actual result: endless beach ball spinning until I force quit and try again.>I just spent the entire day trying to work on

TOC Generation or Update Crashes InDesign 2025
>>macOS 15.2, InDesign 20.0.1
>>When I generate or update a TOC there is a roughly 7 in 10 chance InDesign 2025 will crash. This happens with multiple documents and has been happening consistently with every document since the release of 20.0 in October.
>- >
- >I initially thought it was because I was using ID '25 on macOS Ventura, but it's still happening with existing and new documents since updating my Mac to Sequoia. >
- >Additionally, the same files moved to other computers (Windows 10, for example) also crash there when generating, updating TOCs. >

Bug: Find/Change of conditional text partially bad
>>>Version: Indesign 17.x, Windows 10
>
> Description: Find/Change dialog cannot find a text that has two or more conditions set when you select one of these to find.
> Step to reproduce:
> 1. Write some text and mark a word.
> 2. Create two conditions, A and B, and assign them to that word. Exit edit mode.
> 3. Open Find/Change and set the filter in "Conditions" to find condition A only.
> Result: Indesign cannot find a match. Logical bug.>P. S. I wanted to add an INDD to demonstrate, but software says it's not allowed

Selecting text is offset slightly so you select the wrong characters
>>Selecting text is sometimes really difficult as where you click is slightly off from what InDesign thinks you're clicking on. That means that when you highlight a word, it often misses the first character that you're trying to select. You then have to move the cursor slightly over another character for it to highlight it.
>>It's really frustrating as it doesn't seem to happen in all documents. The ones I'm having issues with at the moment use the customer's own font but I've been using that same font for about 5 years with no issues until now.

2-9% CPU usage when application is in background/minimized - happens on multiple computers
>>>2-9% CPU usage when application is in background/minimized. This happens on multiple computers. Older machines have seen up to 30% in IDLE. My newer PC runs 2-3% even with only one document open.
>>This is unsustainable both for PC resource use, energy efficiency, and usability.
>>There is no GOOD reason for this.
>>It has been an issue for multiple years now. Please fix!

Black Backgrounds When Copying PNG from Web to Indesign (Return of Bug)
>>This is a recurring bug that was solved in a few past updates, but, it's back in InDesign V. 18.5.
>>When you copy a transparent background PNG from Google Images (or any website) and paste it into InDesign, it will display a black box as the background.
>>If you paste the same image into Photoshop, copy that, paste it into InDesign, it will not show the black background.
>>This was working 100% flawlessly over the last year, but, is now broken in this new version on multiple Macs. Tried different browsers. Reset preferences, same issue.

Paragraph Keep Options to "Start on next Odd Page" confused by Text Wrap
>>>Noticed a strange behaviour with keep options. If Keep Options says to start on next odd page, and there is Text Wrap that makes the upcoming odd page unavailable the Paragraph may start will start on the next available text frame, even if this is on an even page. I would have assumed that the Paragraph would start on the next available odd page.

Text whites out and becomes invisible while writing
>>>I have 2 issues. 1. Since the newest update the program takes an extra long time to load when opening, and 2. the whole body of text turns invisible while writing, frequently and repeatedly. It's very disruptive and frustrating, as there is no sure way to get the text to become visible again. It does return to visibility after either typing, or using the space bar a number of times, but it just turns invisible nearly right away if not right away again. It's not unusable, but it is very unpleasant to use.

Quadclick to edit text in grouped textframes doesn't work anymore

Preflight bug (?) non-proportional type scaling
>>>Hi, I am working with InDesign version 16.4 and am currently experiencing a new strange 'problem': I am making a calender with on each second page a text frame with some text. Now I get 12 'non-proportional type scaling' warnings in the preflight panel for these frames, but when I look at the texts, no non-proportional scaling shows up in the character panel. I have never experienced this before. Can this be a bug?

Mongolian
>>Issue: InDesign does not support Mongolian vertical text direction from left-to-right.
>>Version: InDesign 2019, 14.0.2 x64
>>Steps:
>
> 1. Place or paste Mongolian text into an InDesign text frame by using the attached Word document
> 2. Skew the text frame 90 degrees (as done with vertical Chinese and Japanese).>Expected result: Please see the attached Word document and screenshot.
>>Actual result: Notice that the vertical text direction is right-to-left and not left-to-right. Even if the text frame is skewed in the opposite direction (minus 90 degrees) the text is just mirrored and thus not

InDesign highlighted text sometimes has blanks in attribute sizes, & increase/decrease doesn't respond to blanks.
>>After we highlight text, InDesign many times shows blanks in some of the attribute sizes. Sometimes with highlighted text all the sizes do show, but often with highlighted text the sizes are blank for some of the attributes we want to adjust. I can't figure out how to avoid this. Many, many times, highlighted text shows blanks. It's a regular occurrence. Further, with the blanks, the increase/decrease tabs (the small up/down arrows) don't work. This causes a big waste of time, repeatedly, as we highlight text. So we have to un-highlight the text. Look back at the attribute size,

Bullet/number markers included in adjacent hyperlinked text when exported as HTML
>>>When exporting content containing bulleted/numbered lists to HTML (using the Bullets/Numbers: Convert to Text option in HTML Export Options), bulleted or numbered list item markers that are immediately followed by hyperlinked text get included with the text inside an <a /> tag. It would be more predictable (and easier to format with CSS) if the bullet/number markers remained outside of the <a /> tag.
