Objects drawn with Pen tool (including paths for text) disappear when placed over Photoshop file—text wrap is NOT the issue.
>>As a children's book designer, I often type on paths, and almost always place text over images. Everything was fine until InDesign's February 2023 update. Now, anything I draw with a pen tool on my text layer—shapes, or paths for type—are invisible, unless I turn off the image layer below it. Note that text wrap for the image is turned off. Text wrap is not the issue!
>>Attached are side-by-side screenshots showing my attempts to type on a path. The text disappears when the image layer is turned on. As an experiment, I also drew a random shape

Indesign 2020 intolerable lag of up to 10 seconds when switching from selection to text tools
>>>Since the latest update, InDesign has extensive trouble switching from selection to text tools. This appears to be exacerbated by having more than one layout file open. I'm running Windows 10 Pro, i9 system with 64GB of ram. I've reinstalled, deleted preferences, reduced fonts installed, deactivated preflight, deactivated opentext options bug on boxes. The problem is very repeatable and proving a major work disruption.

Eyedropper in tables (ME indesign 2018) crashing
>>>Using the latest copy of indesign ME and everytime i use the eyedropper tool on a table it immediately crashes
>2 votesTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.
We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.
We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.
If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)
We seek your support in our continual effort to improve InDesign.

Footnotes won't number sequentially; cannot select multiple or all footnotes
>>When I place a Word document with footnotes into InDesign, the footnote paragraphs become separated from each other. I cannot click and drag to highlight text from more than one footnote, and I cannot use Command>A to select all the footnotes. Command>A only highlights all the text from the single selected footnote. Furthermore, the numbered paragraph style applied to the footnote paragraphs won't recognize that there was a previous paragraph flowing to it, so each paragraph is numbered as number 1. Even though "continue from previous" is selected in the numbering options. Also, the numbering style from Word imports

[Performance] Footnote disappears
>>>A footnote disappeared without reason then appeared back when I changed something in the page layout. This is a very important bug because InDesign didn't display any kind of warning about this problem: no red indicator of missing text or overfull text block. I noticed it by chance. Please look at the screen captures to understand it: the number 2 footnote is missing whereas the footnote number is present in the text. In the other screen capture, the problem has been solved.
>131 votesThe fix for this issue is now available in the latest update of InDesign – version 16.1
Please update to this version to get the fix. To prevent problem on existing documents and see the footnotes again, you will have to force recompose the stories.
To force recompose stories, you can use the shortcut Command-Option-/ (slash) on Mac or Ctrl-Alt-slash on Windows-InDesign Team

Before tag and after untag frame with different behavior
>>If you tag a frame object (XML), this object does not behave the same after untagging as before tagging. In other words: tagging is not fully reversible. You can see a difference in the layer panel and in the exported PDF tag structure (Tagged PDF)

InDesign not exporting chunks of tags
>>Happening in multiple documents. Some of these documents were originally created by other people and some documents I have created from scratch.
>>Set up indd file for accessibility. Everything done correctly: all text boxes linked, all tags applied, articles created, articles have "Use for Tagging Order in Tagged PDF" checked. And yet, whole pages of the document are not tagged at all in the pdf.
>>I go over the said pages with a fine tooth comb and there is nothing I can see that would stop them from exporting tags. Only solution I've found is to recreate

Indesign CC 2019 Bugs(Preserve Styles and Formatting from Text and Tables)
>>>I usually use the inDesign to import the created word file.

> However, if I check the Preserve Styles and Formatting from Text and Tables in indesign cc 2019 and import the file, the formatting of the text will be deleted.

InDesign 19.0.1 Crashes When Exporting Stories to InCopy
>>I have just set up a new MacBook Pro running InDesign 19.0.1 on Sonoma (pre-installed). Every time I attempt to export .icml stories from a layout file to my SMB Synology share, the file crashes and InDesign quits. When a co-worker on Monterey does the same thing with the same file, the .icml stories export normally.
>>I have tried exporting individual text frames rather than "export all stories" and got the same result. I've tried exporting the stories from a different local .indd file to my computer and got the same result.
>>What else should I

InDesign 14.0.2 constant spinning beachball - especially on text related commands
>>>Working in InDesign 14.0.2 on High Sierra, (single computer home network) the programme is exceptionally slow - taking about 10 seconds (of beachballing) to select a line of copy. Clicking between objects takes 5-10 seconds also. This is happening on my Mac Book Pro and iMac, both running High Sierra - all other programmes are working normally. I have tried trashing my preferences and uninstalling etc, but nothing has improved the lagging issue. I have had to revert to the 2018 version to get my work done.

Direct PDF-Export in Data merge copies "page-1-text" to all other pages
>>>In the linked video you can see a bug in Indesign 17.1 x64 on Windows 10.
> >
> Data Merge offers two ways to output pages. You can generate a merged Indesign-Document (works) and you can directly export to PDF.
> The direct PDF-export doesn't work for me, because texts from page 1 get copied to all other pages instead of using each pages text.
> The video shows the comparison between both methods and i just don't see a reason for what is happening.1 vote -
InDesign freezing when pressing backspace in a text box of more than 500 or 600 words
>>>This only seems to be a problem when using long text boxes more than a few hundred words. InDesign starts to slow down while I'm typing, but if I then select text or press backspace (mostly the latter) then InDesign freezes for 10 to 15 seconds.
>>I've searched the problem, but the only solution I have found is to try closing the info panel, but this seems to be a CS3 fix and doesn't work.

document window turns white while scoping within text box
>>>after upgrade to sonoma 14.1.2 (running INDD 19.0.1), while scoping text - everything inside the document window goes away to white only and, reappears when releasing input device. this makes it impossible to select exact sections of text. it does not occur while double clicking to select an entire line. It did not occur until this morning after upgrading OS.
