Random blocks of color, screen skipping
InDesign v16.2.1 - Started getting large blocks of color in my InDesign docs - never in the same file, appears randomly but always when scrolling. And this morning, a weird "skipping" thing happened - see attached. I've updated my iOS, un- and reinstalled InDesign to no avail.

As Allison Hoog wrote: I also got a huge fright when it happend, because I just bought a new Mac 1.
It happens quite regularly and usually when zooming or changing the view from preview to normal.I tried switching of GPU but that doesn't change the issue and also stops animated zooming, which is annoying.

I've had the same issue and it's July 2023 - Version 18.4. My heart sunk for a minute because I thought it was my computer, but it seems as if it's the program. How annoying!

This is so frustrating I also have this issue. Please NOTE this is still occurring in Version 17.3
The problem appears to be random when I scroll through a document, any document but only happens in InDesign.
I have to scroll the banded colour off the screen and then scroll back to the area I want to edit.
I just went to capture the attached image "One" and when I went back to InDesign to get the version details the banding had changed to image "Two".I do have GPU Performance "Checked", But it is a compatible GPU! Therefore it should work without this issue.
I see "DERJUNG" has suggested turning off the GPU acceleration in InDesign.
Adobe people, this is a very inconvenient workaround and is not acceptable to us users who pay an overpriced subscription for the service and the lack of response we get in return.
I have since turned off GPU Performance and I still get the colour banding! But now it is in Green rather than in Red!
In frustration, I have downloaded and paid for the full Affinity suite and find Affinity Publisher quite acceptable.

Experiencing the same, disappointingly persists with latest 2022 version. Initially suspected a problem with new monitor but it only happens with Indesign. Colour blocks and random dotted and dashed lines.
What is behind this and why has it not been addressed with the update? -

disable GPU acceleration for the moment. It is broken.
My guess, the quality checker only has indesign on the computer and does not work with other programs at the same time like the "normal" user. I can't explain it any other way, because after a very short time these beautiful red bars appear with some users here. I have the same problem on my 2019 Mac Pro and have already written here. – Only the opinion of a frustrated user.
