    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  2. Will not apply master other than "Master A"

    InDesign 13.0
    Letter size document. When applying a new master to a single or a larger selection of pages or spread, it automatically goes back to "Master A".

    We have released an update for InDesign CC2019 (v 14.0.1) which contains fixes for some key issues. If you are not already on 14.0.1 (build 209), then we recommend you to update to latest version.

    If you still face this issue even after updating, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    Reproducible Steps –
    • What were you doing when the issue was observed in InDesign?
    • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue.
    • Is the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, can you please share the document(s)/asset(s) with us? Please package the entire document(To package the document, Go to File → Package)

  3. Buttons and Forms

    I am using InDesign CC (13.0) on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6 using a MacBook Pro13 in, mid-2012.

    When The Buttons and Forms panel is docked with the other panels, it will usually refuse to expand. There does not seem to be a set pattern to it, but it seems more likely to expand correctly when working with TextFields than when working with Radio Buttons, Check Boxes, or Combo Boxes. I have seen it work correctly when working with a Text Field, then when I select a Radio Button, the Buttons and Forms panel will momentarily populate with the expected content…

  4. Prompted to save with no changes made to document

    InDesign CC

    I open a saved document in InDesign, but have no made any changes or touched the document at all. InDesign puts the asterisk next to my file anyways, prompting me to save upon exit. But no changes have been made. This is very annoying because I don't know if a change has been made or the program is messing up. I then have to update all of my PDF exports just to be safe.

    The fix for this issue is now available in the latest update 14.0.2 of InDesign 2019.
    If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
    Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.

  5. Activated font could't use in some InDesign-Documents (and in this special documents never again)

    Until an update of Indesign CC2017 up the actually CC2018 version I have sometimes problems with using activated fonts in individual documents.

    In these special documents it happens that suddendly Indesign say the font you used before its missing even if it is activated.

    It's in the list of fonts, you can choose it, but in this Document you could never use it in anytime again.

    The only solution is, to build up a new document and copy all pages or elements in it. This is a realy worse thing to do, especially if you have Dokuments with 150 pages,…

  6. Disabling UI scaling for high PPI displays causes truncated descriptions in "Preferences"

    Installed InDesign CC 2018; when disabling UI scaling for high PPI displays, and restarting.

    When "Preferences" are launched, all options turn up with their descriptions truncated, and replaced with an ellipsis.

    Two images are attached, when UI Scaling is disabled vs enabled.

    This is happening on MS Surface Pro 3, Windows 8.1, screen resolution 2160 x 1440 px (max supported by Surface Pro) and all resolutions below.

    Copying multiple objects and switching documents causes InDesign to crash every single time. Copying text from inside of a box or copying a single object doesn't seem to cause the crash to happen.

    Importing this icon and the transparent background is showing as black in current inDesign CC. Didn't have issues with similar icons from same site.

    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2022(v17.0.0.96). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

  9. Non-Printing Layers in Italics

    InDesign no longer italicizes the name of non-printing layers in the layers panel. This made a scan of which layers were printing or non-printing quick and easy.

    With the 2018 update, it seems like non-printing layer names just display as a SLIGHTLY lighter weight of the standard layer name type, making it hard to tell which layers are doing what at a glance.

    An update that clearly demarcates non-printing layers would be appreciated.

  11. You seem to have gotten rid of the 'Recent Items' workspace!!! I loved that feature!@!

    I used to love being able to quickly switch to a visual look at my recent files and then load one and it would go back to my previous workspace... Its now gone!!!! Upsetting....

  12. IDML custom page sizes

    When using an INDD file with custom page sizes, IDML export does not keep Master Page and Document Pages aligned properly, because it registers them as different sizes.

    Even if the pages are the same.

  13. Unable to add Paragraph Styles to Creative Cloud Library, InDesign 2018

    Not sure how you can reproduce this as I haven't found anybody else with this problem, but hopefully you can figure out how to help me. I cannot add paragraph styles to the Library, and I have tried every way:"+" button on the panel with text selected, cloud button on the styles panel, dragging from the panel... nothing works. Everything else--including character styles--can be added normally.

    The issue is due to the Kerning being set as None, if one sets it as Optical or Metrics, it solves the issue. The issue is currently under review.

  14. Publish Online RTL (Right-to-Left) support

    InDesign CC has a very good rtl support but when i publish online a document with binding from right to left it works in Print but not in publish online. Publish online always leads to left to rightsliding. Is this a bug or do i miss something? Thank you

  15. GREP queries not saving correctly

    I'm having a GREP issue in InDesign CC2017.1, I tried saving three different GREP queries but it saved the first one three times. I tried about three times to go back and correct the other two, but it would just remain the first GREP query. It seemed to only affect the Find field, what I saved in the Change field seemed to be fine. The only way I could get them all to save correctly was to physically go into the GREP XML files and enter my GREP query and save. I'm using OSX 10.10.5

  16. indesign add text tutorial

    The new Indesign "add text" tutorial on the Adobe site has the incorrect practice files linked to it. I'd like to be able to download the correct files to work with. Thank you.

  17. Opening file in Adobe InDesign CC 2018 prevents same file from opening in InCopy CC 2018

    InCopy CC 2018 users get kicked out of file if file is opened in InDesign CC 2018. InCopy CC 2018 cannot open files create in InDesign CC 2018. See attachment.

  18. InDesign - Incorrect Spelling Field in SpellCheck NOT FIXED CC2018

    The incorrect spelling field in spellcheck is still not fixed. I have had communication via twitter stating it has been and a screen shot showing difference between 2017 & 2018 releases.

    It maybe slightly better but still not bright enough. This could be a very expensive issue if an incorrect spelling slips through.

    Better still the field should be a different colour all together ie red text on white field background so this stands out as a possible error.

  19. links panel problems

    So many problems with Links Panel after recent update:

    1) Right click on PSD asset, EDIT ORIGINAL now doesn't work - "No editor associated with this link"
    2) Right click on AI asset > Edit with Photoshop, opens in Illustrator

    Activating font "AmstelvarAlpha" crashes inDesign CC 13.0. Having the font activated on startup also Crashes inDesign.

    Disabling the font fixes the problem.

    We’ve fixed the issue with InDesign’s latest Mar’18 update.
    Please download the latest InDesign version (InDesign CC 13.1) for the fix.
