1. PDF Comments Insert Issues

   PDF Comments do not insert at the correct location when the Insert is marked at the start or the end of a paragraph. The insert at the start of the paragraph instead gets inserted at the end of the previous paragraph. The insert at the end of a paragraph instead gets inserted before the final character (tested with period and question mark and happened with both).

   Thank you for reporting the issue to us.
   We have fixed the issue in the latest version of InDesign, Id 14.0.3

   Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the fix.

   If you are unable to see the update yet, go to Creative Cloud desktop application, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right corner and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

   If you face any problems with the new update, do let us know in the comments.

2. Entire page missing elements and objects, and unable to select objects

   After updating to 14.0.1, I opened a project and found that one of the pages (just this one page for some reason) had missing objects, missing elements, and the objects on the page were unable to be selected unless I clicked and dragged from the outside of the page to select everything at once. The missing images showed up elsewhere in the catalog and appeared in the links panel under the correct page, but did not appear in the page. After closing and re-opening the same file in InDesign CC 2018, everything was intact and totally fine. This issue rendered 14.0.1 totally unusable for me.

   When defining paragraph style with space before, the result is space after.

   Used independant paragraph style.

4. panels keep moving

   The tool panels keep changing position, flying out or closing in a seemingly random manner. Certainly their movement is counter productive to any given use.

   I've just updated to ID 2019 and my panel positions are all lost. This is after several month of wrestling with the demented behaviour Adobe has given them.

   In the 'old' days, one set up the panels how preferred and pretty much left them alone.

   Could Adobe please return to this functional panel behaviour and stop them flying out, moving about, or getting lost on each update?

   Having to click things open and close don each use is time consuming and wearisome. It completely interferes with any creative method - having to literally 'fight' the interface.

5. preview 'w' shortcut doesn't work

   Regularly doesn't respond to the 'w' key shortcut to toggle between regular/preview views.

   Closing entire program fixes the issue.

   As confirmed by the user, the issue is resolved with the latest InDesign 2021.

6. Text Form Fields do not export with inDesign CC 2018 14.0

   Form Fields do not export at all in the PDF when exported in the current version of inDesign. I am using the same exact settings as I did before I updated, and links DO work. Form fields just do not appear.

   To recreate:
   1) Make boxes where fields are required (in this case, on its own layer, which is visible and active)
   2) Using the Buttons and Forms panel, convert them to text boxes
   3) Export to PDF, making sure that the boxes for exporting interactive elements are checked, and the dropdown says to include appearance

   Resulting PDF does not have text fields.

   It looks like you are exporting to a Print PDF.
   For the Form Fields to work, you should choose Adobe PDF (Interactive) Format instead.

7. PageMaker import doesn't work.

   InDesign is supposed to import PageMaker 6.5 documents. Adobe gives instructions for it here: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/converting-quarkxpress-pagemaker-documents.html#convert_pagemaker_documents

   This doesn't work. Not only are p65 files not recognized as loadable by default, but attempting to load them forcibly results in an error message from InDesign.

8. What about screenplay? Will InCopy replace Story?

   Hello everyone.

   I know that Story will be discontinued, and I noticed that the InCopy just came to play.

   I was happy to have a screen writing software that I have already paid for, even though I am an adobe client for it's video editing softwares.
   If InCopy is capable to assist me on writing, I will not need to spend more money on writing

   What I need from InCopy is what I had on story regarding to format, I mean: Scene Header, Action, Character, Parenthesis and Dialog... I just hit one key and I can swap between what I need and write the script without having to worry about format

   Can it be considered for a next update? Now, with the discontinuation of Story, there is no tool for screenwriting whatsoever. I really thought/wished/hoped that InCopy could and would take on that task

   Adobe is always so proud to be a complete production tool. It has even an ingesting and logging software... but the genesis of all that is the script
   And adobe just abandoned the birth of production... This is sad.

9. Jumbled Text

   I'm having an issue with catalogs I'm working with. When I open the most recent version of an INDD file, there is jumbled text in the headings and subheadings, even though the PDF exported fine when the file was last opened. Advice?

10. Going to the end of the line includes the whitespace(s) also

    Typing in illustrator has an issue when going to the end of the line - when pressing the End key moves the cursor to the end of the line, including the space; therefore typing again will prepend text to the word on the other line.
    To reproduce:
    - Type a text which is long enough to break on the next line. Let's say, the text will break between "word1 word2"
    - Go to the first line.
    - Hit End, then x on the keyboard.
    + Expected result: "word1x word2"
    + Actual result: "word1 xword2"
    All text editors prdouce the expected result...

11. Links panel

    When you highlight a link in the document, it used to highlight the corresponding image in the links panel, so you could easily edit or replace, instead of having to scroll through the links panel trying to identify the asset from the thumbnail. A minor workflow thing but it makes a difference. Would love to have this feature back in.

14. Table of contents problem

    Hi.
    i am concerned about table of contents generation under indesign cc 2019 (14.0.1).
    When the titles to be placed in the table of contents are in a text box, everything happens normally. On the other hand, when the titles are in a table, the generation of the table of contents does not happen properly. See attached example.

15. incopy

    InCopy is going SO slow it's greatly reduced our efficiency in editing magazine text. Every text box takes at least 1 whole minute to check in and out of, and even when I've opened the text box, it takes ages for me to move my cursor to make an edit. I can barely move my mouse without it freezing up. This is happening on all of our work computers and my laptop at home, so it's not an isolated issue. Also three of our computers are brand-new and those computers are also having the same issues with InCopy. This started happening after we updated to Mojave. We've updated our applications (InDesign & InCopy) to the latest versions as well.

16. indesign not printing

    I recently upgraded to Mojave. I have the Adobe Creative Suite Premium and a Canon ip3500. Printing from the internet and PDF work fine. Illustrator CC 2019 and InDesign CC 2019 won't print directly from the app. I find it silly and inefficient to save a document as a PDF for printing.What happened and how do I fix it?

    When I send the file to print, the printer goes through the motion but all I get is a super faint outline of the art. The image is a solid fill of 100% black. The printout is a 20% outline of the vector image.

17. short name in wrong order in TOC

18. Publish Online Does not work if you have Allow Download (Print) chosen.

    Publish Online will get stuck at 98% if you choose the option to allow for download (Print). Even if you go to the Advanced tab and change the PDF settings, it still will not work.

19. data link

    In Adobe In Design CC 14.0.1 x64
    We use a previous file to keep the formatting of a merged mailing list. I used to be that when you copied the file to a new directory it could no longer find the old data file and gave you a warning. It also would not show you a preview because it could not find the data.

    Unfortunately, the new version seems to have held the old data so we printed the old merged file by mistake. It doesn't even make sense that it should be able to do this if the link is broken. This is very dangerous. If the data link is broken you should see the fields but no data!

    I am fairly certain this did not happen in previous versions.
