  1. Export to HTML of Tables structure is incorrect

    InDesign CC2019+2020

    Create a table
    Convert first row to Header row type
    Convert last row to Footer row type
    Export to HTML

    you get (simplified)

    <thead>
    <td>

    </td>
    </thead>
    <tfoot>

    <p>Text</p>
    </td>
    </foot>
    <tbody>

    </tbody>

    The HTML spec specifies that tfoot should appear AFTER tbody.
    Also the <td> in <thead> should be <th>.

  2. InDesign 2020 freezes when placing articles with endnotes (big file)

    Working with a approximately 500 paged book, 30 articles with endnotes.

    Now with 20 articles / 300 pages done, InDesign 2020 freezes when placing new articles.

    Please, please, please: fix the issue with a possibility to keep all endnotes in a separate ID-file (linking endnotes to other ID-files)! Because of this, now forced to have the whole, massive book in one ID-file.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  3. 15.0.1 - can't copy any aspect of a table and paste into another row/column/etc

    You can no longer copy a cell or row or column and paste into another table. Allows you to copy but when you highlight the new row/cell/column to paste into it, both the quick key and also Edit > Paste do not work.

  4. Working with files from a very fast server,

    We are having issues with using files on server with someone who has a file open in indd and while watching their own computer screen see someone else actually changing text in the file on their computer. How is this possible, we never had this problem before until 2 weeks ago. I thought that when the first person opens a file and the ldbk file is created, only the first person has full access. Everyone else would then have read only access?? Help? By the way we have been using this method for 14 years without issues until now>>

  5. PDF Comments Unmapped / Adobe Indesign 2020, 15.0.1 (latest issue)

    1. Adobe Indesign 2020, 15.0.1 (latest issue, updated)
    2. Several files opened and attempted to edit with PDF markups. Have checked the PDF file in acrobat and correct.
    3. Comments should be mapped to identical document but are not.
    4. Most, if not all comments are unmapped (latest document completely unmapped - 50!!).

  6. tabs in table

    It is not possible to tabulate within a table of In 2020. When you perform Control + Tab, you jump and open another document in the background. Tabs can only be entered manually via the Type - insert spicial charecter - tab .
    In the previous version 2019 when I used shortcut of ctrl+tab the tab was adgusted and the defenition was kept and I was able to place text the way I wanted, now when I press ctrl+tab as I mentioned it throws out to other doc

  10. InDesign 15.0.1 Find/Change dialog does not show on OSX Catalina 10.15.2

    InDesign 15.0.1 Find/Change dialog does not respond to either keyboard prompt nor to pulldown menu choice. Was working fine all morning. Just stopped. Strange?? Any cure??

  11. Presentation

    When changing to the presentation mode the side visualization glitches. Same happen when I want to scroll through some pages. Even if the first page looks finde the second one isn't.
    With only one side the problem isn't there every time I use the presentation mode. But you can see the visualization glitch for a seconds before it goes back to normal.

  12. hangs on export to epub3

    I have one file that will not export at all. InDesign hangs every time and I have to force quit. I have tried not including the cover, the fonts, the TOC, in all combinations. I was able to export by opening the IDML in CS6. Mac OS 10.3.6 and InDesign CC 15.1

    As confirmed by the customer, the issue was due to hyperlinks inside footnotes in the document. Deleting them resolved the issue.

  13. Adobe Fonts don´t load

    Adobe Fonts don´t load. When I click to activate a font it changes icon to "activating" but it never activates.

  14. Moving pages cause the shift of the pages moved

    Is a big problem: when moving pages from different Documents with the same options, master pages and Layouts the pages moved are shifted (to the left or to the right).
    I've made an Example in the attached Files.
    1.png shows the way I move the last two pages of the document to the other document (identical copy of the same file).
    2.png shows the pages moved in the second document (they should be the same but the imported ones are shifted by a few millimeters).

  15. Data Merge function "Honor existing frame fitting option" is not working on master pages

    Version of Adobe InDesign, InCopy or InDesign Server

    Steps to reproduce the issues
    See also attached video

    Open the file > 01ExposeTEMPXMLStart.indd
    Generate a merged document by clicking the button
    Choose "Honor existing frame fitting" in Content Placement Options
    Click [OK]
    Jump to page 1 in the merged document
    The pictures are placed without honoring the existing frame fitting options from the object style
    This only happens with frames that are placed on a master page. The same frame on a document page works…

  16. Outline color of tables changed

    When I open a file which has been created in InDesign 2019 (by another person) with my version 15.0.1, some outline colors of the tables are displayed incorrectly. (not all of them) In my case they should all be 60% black, but some of them are 100% black now.

    This issue has been fixed in the latest update of InDesign 2022 - version 17.3

    Please update to this latest version of InDesign using Creative Cloud Desktop Application to get the fix.

  19. Printing error with Acrobat

    I get the following error message when I try to print InDesign documents to Acrobat.

  20. inDesign 2020 removed the zoom view box from the top menu bar

    This user is much unhappy that inDesign 2020 no longer provides the zoom view box that appeared in the top menu bar, directly to the right of the help tab. That was a fast, easy way to change the view size of the file in the screen.

    I was told by Adobe that this feature was dropped because the screen size view could be achieved by other existing features. Sure... now one must pull down a tab, then go to another command and activate a feature like zoom in and zoom out. And that only shifts the view in or…

    The change was made to reduce the UI clutter for the user and it was moved to the bottom left of the screen in the Status bar where other controls like page navigation, preflight profiles, etc. are available.

    To continue using this feature, we can suggest a simple workaround which takes less than a minute to accomplish – just open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, choose Views, Navigation from the Product Area drop-down, select the ‘Access zoom percentage box’ from the list of commands and assign a shortcut – example, Ctrl-Alt-5. You can customize the keyboard shortcuts as you like and save a new Keyboard Shortcut Set.
