1. CC2020: Alternate text for hyperlinks

   In CC2020 a new function for writing alternate text for links was introduced.
   Using this function and generating a PDF Leeds to wrong PDF notation. The alt text in PDF is presented by alt text, which is forbidden in the PDF world, where alt text only should be used for non text elements, e.g. pictures. By presenting only the alt text the accessibility is lost – this is against the goal to hav a better output!
   A correct output would lead to a content entry.

   Note: Alt text for links is under discussion, as such alt text is not present for all users (it would be read out loud, but you can't read it) – this is not about equal access.

   Thanks for fixing, this would be a good step for all people relying on accessible PDFs.

3. Image tags all grouped in their own article at the end of the tags panel

   I have set up articles in multiple files InDesign 2020 (files first created in InDesign 2019 and updated to 2020 yesterday and today). When I export to PDF, all image tags are added to a new article in the bottom of the tags panel in Acrobat DC rather than in the articles that I assigned them to in InDesign. Luckily, I preserved a version of InDesign 2019 and can open them in there and export to have the tags show up in the correct place. FYI, I also made sure my layers order in InDesign is as I want it to be.

5. Cells formatted as Number/Currency etc. in Excel without decimal places or as Date not imported correctly into InDesign.

   InDesign CC : 2020 / 15.0.0.155
   MacOS : 10.13.6
   MS Excel : 16.30 for Mac

   We were able since ever (last version ID CC 2019) to import Excel data-cells by InDesign with the placing functionality. With the actual version of InDesign CC 2020 numbers without any decimal places (e.g. 153) are not imported from Excel files and are displayed in InDesign with a "0" - (e.g. 153 imports to InDesign as 0). If the numbers in the Excel files have at least 1 decimal place numbers are imported correctly (e.g. 153.6 imports to InDesign as 153.6). Please fix this InDesign CC 2020 as soon as possible. An please in InDesgin CC 2019 Excel-Numbers with a sign for thousands place (e.g. 2'153) imported with a non correct sign (e.g. 2'153 imports to InDesgin CC 2019 as 2Õ153). Please verify this also.

6. Don't work "printPreferences.copies"

   In ExtendScript

   Example

7. There is no way to cancel "Find similar images"

   InDesign 15.0

   Run "Find similar images" and the candidate images will be displayed in the CC Libraries Panel. If there is no image you want at that time, I want to cancel this. I want to delete candidate images in the CC Libraries Panel and return to My Library. However, there seems to be no other way than adding one of the images to the library or restarting InDesign.

8. Applescript Droplet: InDesign 2020 issue

   A much used droplet to export one or more InDesign documents to PDF (with dialog and settings) will not work with InDesign 2020 (v15.0.0.155) anymore (fine with InDesign CC 2019). InDesign 2020 opens the first (or the only) document. I can select options in the upcoming dialogue box, but then crashes immediately by clicking OK with an error message (see screenshot).

   However, the same base code of the script works directly from InDesign to export the active document to PDF without any problems.

   InDesign 2020 may not handle "on open ..." and / or "repeat with ..." in the droplet ?!

   ( InDesign 2020 version 15.0.0.155 on Windows 10 ).

   The custom baseline grid is not working at all if a table's text frame is rotated.

   It is working with text outside a table if the frame is rotated.

10. Non consistent display of PMS colors across applications

    InDesign 15.0 / Illustrator 24.0
    Uncoated FOGRA29 (ISO12647-2:2004)
    PMS 3262U

    Object on the right is an imported Illustrator EPS with PMS 3262U and Uncoated FOGRA29 (ISO12647-2:2004) profile.

    InDesign document also has the Uncoated FOGRA29 (ISO12647-2:2004) profile, object is placed above the illustration: same PMS color but display of completely different color.

    Export to print pdf = correct color

11. column line

    You cant make the column lines shorter in the top of a textframe when you have a preamble text in the frame. How ever, you can make the column lines shorter in the bottom of the frame. And you can make them longer in any direction. The function is there for making them shorter in the top but it¨s out of order.

12. Tab indent of RTL Numbered List does not line up

    See two screenshots attached, both are using the exact same settings, (Default, just changed to Hebrew numbering)
    in InDesign 2019 (14.0.3) Everything is nicely aligned, vs in InDesign 2020 (15.0) it's jagged, and I'm not able to align it in any way (Tabs, Indenting, etc.).

13. InDesign 2020 won't overwrite PDF

    Since updating to Indesign 2020 I can't overwrite pdf files from the export menu it says 'file is still open' when it's not. Yet another thing broken on the yearly beta test.

14. InDesign 15.0 Smart Guides problem on converted files

    After the 15.0 update InDesign does not show Smart Guides on files that are saved with the older version of InDesign. New blank documents show Smart Guides as they should but if I open (convert) old file to 15.0 Smart Guides stop working. So when I drag elements they don't snap to each other or center to the page for example.

    I'm working on Windows 10.

16. No translation in French for the variable fonts panel in Indesign 2020

    1 - Indesign 2020 (15) - French version
    2 - Use a variable font
    Modify it with the properties panel or control bar
    3 - The interface should be in French
    4 - When the panel is shown the interface stay in english

    Thank you for sharing the feedback with us.
    Please note that the design axes names are provided within the font itself, therefore the translated string for these axes names cannot be displayed unless the font designer has incorporated it in the font.

    However, Adobe Illustrator explicitly translates 5 predominantly used design axes names(Weight, Width, Slant, etc.), but this does not seems appropriate for fonts having more than 5 design axes(like Amstelva Alpha which has 16 axes).

    Hence the attribute names are not translated.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

19. Thaana text properly composed in 14.0.3 messed after converting to 15.0

    Weird changes in the text after converting file to 15.0. (Upon opening a file with Thaana text) see attached images.

    Diacritics completely messed up AFTER recomposing (change alignment or reapply World-Ready composer) See attached images.

    Cannot use double/triple-clicking to select text composed in the new composer. (can select paragraphs already composed in the previous version, if no changes are made to that paragraph.)

    To see it in a new document: create a new document, copy and paste Thaana text (ex: Dhivehi Wikipedia), apply World-Ready composer.

20. Cmd-O or Cmd-N doesn't work after InDesign starts up.

    This has been an annoying bug for a while. If you open indesign, then use the command-O or command-N key to open/create a file, nothing happens. You just get an alert sound.
