  1. Indesign 2020 keeps asking me to save files

    It says it has been altered (asterisk next to name) immediately after I open a file
    even I haven't made any changes. After I save it , the asterisk shows up again as soon as I scroll down!

    I am using InDesign 2020, Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6

  2. Invisible character

    Apply all Auto Edits inserts an invisible character before which then interferes with Find and Replace. When pasted into a GREP search, it looks like ~I, but can't be found. It can be manually removed, but this is not helpful, as I need to be able to perform a comprehensive Find/Replace.

  3. Indesign CC 2014 build 10.2.0.69 crashes when closing Mac OSX 10.14.5 Mojave

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

    If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  4. Data Merge not populating fields CC2019

    I use Data Merge for variable data production every day. I am using IDCC2019 v14.0.1. iMac 27 inch late 2013. OS High Sierra 10.13.6. Processor 3.2 GHz Intel Core i5. 16 GB memory.

    This problem started with IDCC2019. I link to .csv for data merge. When exporting to PDF, I choose a record range – for example 1-1000. In the PDF result, the first page is not the first record. It is a random record in the middle – for example, 319. It merges records 319-1000. Then the remaining pages of the 1000 page output are not populated – in the…

    Hello All,

    Thank you for reporting the issue to us.
    We have fixed the issue in the latest version of InDesign, Id 14.0.3

    Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update yet, go to Creative Cloud desktop application, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right corner and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

    If you face any problems with the new update, do let us know in the comments.

  5. Paragraph shading not aligned in justified text when optical alignment is on

    If optical margin alignment (story) is ON the paragraph shading doesn't align on the right margin of justified text. hyphens seem to push the edge of the shading out. This is in build 13.1.1 but is also reported in 15.0.0.155. I cannot update to the newest version without buying a new computer—so I won't be anytime soon or maybe ever.   6. Centering lines have disappeared.

    vertical and horizontal centering lines have disappeared. Pink lines used to show up when I was centering an object. Any way to get them back?

  7. column break

    Adobe InDesign 2020, macOS Mojave
    If you have a very long word or a URL without breaks, if that is inserted into a narrow column, so that it fills the entire column, at the point where hyphenation is forced, a column break also occurs. Obviously, that's wrong.

  8. Image catalog Script for Contact Sheets Not Working

    Since update to Adobe CC 2020, Image catalog script in InDesign doesn't work. The Apple Script version of this sample script always gave me an error, but the Java version always worked. I LOVE this script. WAY better than creating Contact Sheets in Photoshop or Bridge. Please fix this. I use it every week.

  10. You are able to open, already opened documents

    Indesign 2020
    At the office we work as a team on the same documents. It is important that only one person at a time can work on a document. With the new 2020-version, you are able to open the same document on two computers... with a big risk to save over/erase, the changes that the your college has done.

  11. Import PDF Comments - New Bugs identified - Part 3

    We're also facing below issues in the new feature, called 'Import PDF Comments':

    (1) [CRITICAL ERROR] When any insertion is happening at the end of paragraph, InDesign is swapping the last character after the new insertion

    (2) When any PDF comments appeared within the tinted panel, it's not replacing properly

    Please let me know for any clarifications on the above given feedback.

  12. Export stops at 0%

    Exporting common documents often results in a "crash" at 0%. No error comes up, it just stays at 0% indefinitely.

    If I try stop the export I can't, if I try close InDesign I can't. I have to force quit the program and open it numerous times following in order to get all of my fonts back and registered... even if it's in a package.

    Extremely time consuming and painful.

    We tried with some custom InDesign files, but export works fine

  13. Space character inserted following ligature replacement

    Hello,
    InDesign v14.0.2 inserts an (inaccessible) space character immediately following a substitution performed by the OpenType "Ligatures" feature. This does not occur in Illustrator, Photoshop, nor any other text layout app I'm using.

  14. InD responding slowly

    This isn't a "bug" per se, but InD has slowed to a crawl when using. Doesn't matter if I am trying to select text, change tools, or click on a menu item. It's been going very slow for a while now, doesn't matter the file. I have tried to trash preferences and reinstall InD, and nothing has changed it. Oh, and I just have major lag, not a spinning ball.

    I am Win10, InD CC 14.0.2. The only plug-in I am running is Suitcase Fusion, and that is up to date as well.

  16. Background Tasks stuck on "Cancelling"

    I was exporting multiple PDFs that were not exporting properly. When I figured out they were stuck, I manually cancelled the export in "Background Tasks". Both tasks have been "Cancelling" for two days. I cannot close the files nor can I close InDesign.

  17. InDesign to InCopy Layout Malfunction

    My company's graphics department develops scientific posters, and as a writer, I often have to make small adjustments to the text and am only given access to edit through InCopy (using version 14.0.2). This problem does not happen with every poster, but I often find that the whole frame of the poster is shifted when I open the assignments file in InCopy (please see example photos). I'm able to make my edits, but I can't export to a PDF without having the bleed, header, etc. shifted as I see it in InCopy. Our graphics department thinks this is a bug…

  18. Workspace panels not reappearing when exiting and reentering application

    I've noticed lately that my workspace panels are sporadically disappearing when I have a document open and I click out of the document on macOS Mojave and reenter the document shortly after. If I click 'tab', the workspace doesn't reappear. The only way to make it come back is to go to Window/Workspace/Reset [Name for workspace]. Application frame is disabled.

    Currently on macOS 10.14.6
    InDesign CC 2019 14.0.2

  19. Performance: Import documents / style apply

    my MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016) is super slow when importing word documents, search and replace styles or adapting styles. Does it improve when changing to the Mojave system? Or is there a conflict with FontExplorer X Pro. Any suggestions are welcome. I'm suffering…

    1) Please let us know the version of InDesign on which you are facing this issue.
    2) It would really help us a lot, if you can share the documents( and other resources) with which you are facing the issue.
