Numbering and section options
If you have multiple types of numbering options in one document, (say using Roman for your intro pages, and then convert to regular numbers for the main document) you can't change them even though the option is not grayed out in the Numbering and Sections Options dialogue box. If you click on it, it just reverts back to what the document started as and won't select that other numbering option.
Exact same document, and I (on 13.1) cannot change it, but my co-worker who has 13.0.1 can.

No Panels at Start
Many times CC apps start with no panels at all or panels which won't expand when clicked.
Also happens in Photoshop, Illustrator in my experience and on different machines (Mac Pro at home, different iMacs at the office).
Has been going on for many iterations of CC apps.

Indesign performance issue : Object movement
Indesign is always giving me rainbow wheel even if I edit small slides.

In the latest version of InDesign, Id 14.0.3
We have fixed multiple scenarios where the movement of objects was found to be slow.Please upgrade your InDesign application to the latest version to try out the fix.
If you are unable to see the update yet, go to Creative Cloud desktop application, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right corner and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

Choosing a link's page or layer right in the links panel
I would love to be able to change the page of my links without having to replace the file and select the page through import options. I use a lot of nested indesign files where I'm duping up business cards with multiple sides. It gets timely when I have 4 sides and I have to replace them all 8 times. Keep it in mind guys! You're doing an awesome job! I <3 adobe people!

No longer able to use arrow keys in outer glow size
I used to be able to arrow up or down in the "size" for an outer glow and other transparency effects and the increment would increase or decrease. I am no longer able to do that. It is a bit frustrating. I'm working on a Mac with the latest operating system and my programs are all up to date. Please fix this bug!

Window freezes
the indesign document window tends to freeze, I can fix it by creating a new window for the document and closing the old one. But it's pretty annoying, as you can imagine.

InDesign CC 2018 UK dictionary is wrong
The UK dictionary in InDesign CC 2018 is wrong. It is recognizing both American and British spellings of certain words as correct. The biggest issues I've found so far are "iz" versus "is" spellings (e.g. capitalize/capitalise) and words that need an extra "e" (e.g. ageing). I have all text boxes in my document set to UK English, and spellcheck is finding certain misspellings (e.g. "or" versus "our"), but not others.
This is a major problem for those of us who regularly have to "translate" text from American English to UK English. Is there a way to import a better UK…

InDesign 13.0.1 can not follow an alias on a server share anymore
InDesign 13.0.1 on a apple mac running 10.13.3 does not recognize alias (links) on a server share anymore. Photoshop still does.
Steps: Go to a server share, no matter if an smb or afp share.
Create a folder A. Place an file inside, e. g. 1.jpeg
.
Create an alias from folder A => A alias.
In InDesign choose OPEN:
Go to the server share
The Folder A is in black typo an available. Highlight A and you see the file.
The Alias A alias is gray, InDesign does not recognize the link.
Do the same in Photoshop, you will…8 votesIf you create an alias of a folder (located on a server) and drag it to the desktop, it works. For quick creation of aliases this way, press Option-Command while you drag the original item to the desktop.
Note : Accessing items of an folder’s alias located on a server has not worked in previous releases of InDesign too. -

Place Multipage PDF script not performing how it should
Hi,
I am experiencing trouble within my InDesign using the "PlaceMultipagePDF" java script under the scripts panel. My issue is that when I go to choose my file for my document and choose which page I want the PDF to start on (like page 5 out of 130) it no longer goes to the page I choose, but adds on top of the content on the last page (like page 105) and adds extra pages with the rest of the import of the pdf at the END of the document and not the one I chose.
Thughts?

Fast save is taking 37 seconds
I imported a Word file that has a lot of linked footnotes into InDesign 2018. Spread by spread, I touch each paragraph to fix overrides. There is no reflow of text when I do this step. Yet when I do a plain "save" before going to the next spread, InDesign is taking 37 seconds to save. 37 seconds of watching the rainbow spin. InDesign is acting like it is reflowing every page in the background as it quick saves. That should not be necessary. The last time I experienced this type of slowness was back in the PageMaker days. page not displayed
I am editing a long document (over 300 pages). Several non-consecutive spreads are displaying blank. When I change screen mode from normal to preview, it displays the content correctly. The same happens if I change Display Performance prom Typical to either Fast display or High Quality Display.
Also selecting all the text (ctrl+A) takes more than 5 seconds. The same operation in MS Word is instant.3 votes -

Hi, dragging objects to another layer with the small rectangle in the layerpanel is not secure... it seems that the hotspot or trigger is out of range..

Button area changes size when adding object that only appears on rollover

I am having issues with buttons, rendering my project entirely unusable.When creating buttons on a map:
- Each button is a building on the map.
- When you rollover the building with your mouse, a box appears that gives more information about the building.To accomplish this, I create the button, set it to change on rollover, and drag my additional graphic into the rollover state for that button on the layers panel.

high sierra and Creative Suite
I discovered an interesting bug concerning the Adobe CC suite and the HighSierra OS. Let me explain :
I'm using a LaCie Firewire 800 external hard drive on which I'm recording completed jobs.
Regularly, but not always, when using the InDesign or PhotoShop drop-down menu, the cursor takes the form of the multi-color wheel and blocks any action until I force the external hard drive to eject.
I use many other software publishers such as Panic, Apple, Google, GitHub, ... that never presents this dysfunction.Here is the LaCie drive information:

XML tagging with GREP
GREP is a great tool, but when we use GREP to highlight more than one character style in a paragraph there is an issue with the XML tagging tool.
Only the first GREP expression applies a character style that can be automatically tagged by character style. All further GREP expressions apply the character style but don't then go on to automatically tag by character style.
Currently we have to work around it with scripting, but it is a very strange bug to have.

InDesign performance issue: New document window gives blank screen
Latest version of InDesign supplied by Creative Cloud installer on 64-bit Windows 10 PC.
Steps to reproduce:

Selection Toll
My Selection Tool, does not display properly and makes this wield yellow/green did like image. This means, I can not select objects properly and this is affecting the speed I'm working at.
