1. Adobe Fonts: Garamond Premier Pro 'Regular' is buggy, keeps disappearing in Indesign

   Hi there,

   Adobe Fonts is already fairly buggy and annoying, but InDesign also keeps losing added fonts. (InDesign 20.0.1 x64)

   In the drop down font list in InDesign, it splits fonts in the same Add Family into different groups, without giving the groups any kind of unique name so that you can tell which is which, and at the same time, it won't add both groups to the top recently-used section, such that you have to scroll down to find the missing group (and the font you just used), while having to then guess which group is the missing one. If you guess wrong, you're jumped back to the top and have to go scrolling again (or type in the font name, but the menu formatting becomes illegible then, in the sense that names are cut off and there's no longer any hierarchy, such that now you're squinting through a very long, cut-off menu, trying to find your font. It'd be helpful if the drop-down list still had some hierarchy while typing the font name, like it does when you're just scrolling through it)

   Even worse, it's having trouble finding certain added fonts, even though the whole Add Family was installed from Adobe Fonts.

   Garamond Premier Pro 'Regular' keeps disappearing in InDesign, even though the other fonts work. Medium is fine, it's the Regular that it's unhappy about. Perhaps should have been called Roman?

   (Garamond Premier gets split into a group of 22 fonts and a group of 11 Display fonts. So for example, the (22) group gets added to the recently-used fonts, but the (11) group does not, even though Display fonts are also being used. The 'Regular' font has gone pink repeatedly, even though Adobe Fonts thought it was installed. Tried removing and adding back, and InDesign has still been unable to find it)

2. Magnify keyboard shortcut not working?

   When I try to use the magnify keyboard shortcut (space + command), it doesn;t work. Tried restarting ID and Mac but had no effect.

3. InDesign 2025 Lagging on Macs and MacBooks using Sequoia

   This issue has been going on since the introduction of InDesign 2025, I believed (wrongly it seems) that Adobe would be aware. This is a very long ongoing community page and the issue effects many subscribers. More so now as not all users have the issue and are using the 2025 software, causing software compatibility issues.

4. Application Frame Sticks to One External Monitor and Fails to Move Between Monitors (Windows 11)

   I am experiencing an issue with a user where the application frame is stuck on a specific external monitor. When I attempt to drag the window to another external monitor, it automatically reverts to its original position on the main monitor. I can minimize and drag the corners to adjust size of window but cannot move it over to other monitors. This behavior occurs across multiple workstations, and I have already attempted the following troubleshooting steps:

   Ensured that all software is fully updated.
   Restarted the device multiple times.
   Adjusted the resolution settings and reinstalled display drivers.
   Removed and reconnected external monitors.
   Resetting preferences
   Checking required system requirements

   Despite these efforts, the issue persists.

   I would appreciate any further assistance or insight into resolving this problem.

5. CEP HTML Engine

   In Task Manager, "CEP HTML Engine" spawns a couple dozen instances--is that the cause of numerous crashes? We just installed InDesign (and CC) 2024 (v. 19.5.1) for testing on both Windows 10 and 11 Enterprise. InDesign is hanging when I do basic tasks: copy & paste, move a graphic frame, delete a paragraph. The only way to recover is by ending the task in Task Manager. These issues are happening on multiple PCs, and different files. Does Adobe do any testing with CC on Windows?

6. working spaces are not shown correctly after sleep mode

   Adobe InDesign version 20.0.1 (Mac OS): Problem: after sleep mode, the saved workspace is not displayed correctly. The tool palettes are no longer on the second screen after the Mac has been put to Sleep mode

7. Indesign still incredibly LAGGY and SLOW! - But may be fixed in v20.0.1

   NOTE: I just downloaded the latest InDesign update V. 20.0.1 and it seems to be fixed. But I am leaving this rant here until it works correctly for like a week. LOL!

   How the heck can I get my work done when InDesign is sooo SLOW!
   I am on a production schedule and simply cannot believe how incredibly slow and laggy the program has become.

   I have an 18 page illustrated book layout that I am trying to add text to and it takes a full 4 - 6 seconds when I try to copy a line of text from MS word and then place it into ID. Also if I try to click and drag a copy of a text box within Indesign the response time is awful. Switching between the text and selection tools is also a 3 - 6 second lag. I have to be able to nudge things around quickly in my layout work. Waiting on a 3 second lag just to nudge text and center stuff is truly terrible.

   I am using v. 19.5.1 (Had to downgrade from v. 20.01 which is worse)
   It is the only program open except for Acrobat reader and MS Word. My computer is fine. it's the program.

   I pay monthly for these programs- it would be nice if they worked as expected.

   Please Please FIX the awful lag.

   So many of us use these programs to earn a living. .

   I have used Adobe Creative Suite and CC for over 30 years as a graphic designer and this is just ridiculous.

   NOTE: I just downloaded the latest InDesign update V. 20.0.1 and it seems to be fixed. But I am leaving this rant here until it works correctly for like a week. LOL!

8. no spellcheck

   there is no spellcheck which really bothers me, I had to manually type in the right spelling, wasting my time because English is not my first language i forget how to spell some words, it takes hours for me to type something without spellcheck. Please add this function to InDesign it really is necessary

10. View menu failing to load

    When I roll over the Plug-Ins menu item, and then scoot over to the View menu item, the full View menu does not load. If I come off the menu header, and then hover directly over the View menu head, the full menu appears.

11. Application switching delay & laggy

    Application switching (Command Tab) from any App to InDesign 20.0.1 has a 2/3 second delay. If I directly click on the InDesign window, it's switches quickly. Happens in all files. MacOS 15.1

12. ID version: 20.0.1 & MacOS Sequoia: 15.1.1 horrendeously sluggish

    I recently had my 2019 Mac Pro go down, and IT ended up wiping and reinstalling everything, including updating my OS to Sequoia 15.1.1. After that, I updated Creative Cloud to InDesign 20.0.1—and wow, what a nightmare. It’s incredibly sluggish. Opening the app? Wait. Opening a file? Wait. Moving a window? Nothing happens at first, then a bit of movement, followed by the spinning beach ball... and more waiting. I tried merging a file, and what used to take seconds now feels like an eternity. Basic, insert type bar to type text, i have to wait, and wait. Is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

13. text looks different in the same file from Mac to MacBook

    The same file look very different while opened on my Mac as well my MacBook Pro, – both have the latest version installed and the same fonts, etc, as I work from/with both computers via an external SSD.

14. Latency issue on Mac since version 20.0.1

    Every action, every time I switch back to InDesign after using another application, every event is preceded by a 1-2 second delay. When spending the whole day working on InDesign, this becomes unbearable. This is the first time I've experienced this, and it has been happening since the new version 20.

    See video. The Mac "spinning wheel" appears multiple times in one minute. Imagine this over several hours or days.

    Adobe, cold you please fix it asap?

15. Resizing item using control bar value defaults to unlinked every time

    The resizing tool in the control bar will not stay with linked proportions - I go to resize an object to a specific width for example, I want it to be proportionally linked so I click the link button. It works, but immediately defaults to unlinked. Previously this stayed on what you had selected for the next time you used it. This is causing multiple errors when I am expecting it to stay linked. Using Indesign 2025 v20.01 on Sequoia

16. [ID-4256388] New document size resetting to previous

    Every time I go to set up a new document and put in a size in the preset details, the measurments snap back to the previous size, either immediately, when tabbing from width to height, or when adding margin or bleed details. Happens every time, repeatedly. Using Indesign 2025 v20.01, on iMac 2019 OS Sonoma 14.1, also happens using Sequoia

17. InDesign Mac not remembering window size on open, WITHOUT using Application Frame

    For the life of me of me PLEASE fix InDesign so it remembers the window size when opening a file, without having to use the annoying and PC-like application frame (I'm on a Mac). Thank you.

18. Indesign freezes when connected via VPN

    Indesign freezes when launched/when using VPN client which restricts internet access. Indesign unlocks when VPN client is disabled. (Spinning beach ball)

19. document stuck halfway below view after zooming

    this is a bit hard to describe but basically when i'm working on a square shaped document, when zooming in or out—i think mostly out?—the document will stick halfway visible (see screenshot) and the only way to see the full page again is to hit cmd-0 to have it centre itself back on the screen. this happens to me uncountable times an hour and it's a real pain.

20. set default save location to original file folder

    Please make a setting in preferences with two options for default file save locations:
    a) Always save to last used folder (the folder you used in the last save to session)
    b) Always save to doc uments original folder (the folder where each individual document currently is saved and opened from)

    Currently InDesign uses option a) which in my case is a total desaster since everytime I am in a hurry saving or exporting something the file lands in some other project folder where i can search / delete or move it afterwards which results in a bad workflow.
