Please add automated color bar, separation color information - Print PDF export
Hi! I am missing a choice in PDF export. In the print industry is needed to add colour information for the customer, what colours is the artwork made from - esp. when we use solid colours. Customers need this for the approval process so we have to add this colour-bar manually. In the PDF (composite PDF) window there are Marks and Bleed choices, but there is missing a choice to choose a colour information automatically generated from the document colours - separations. The colour information can be graphical (squares with separation names) or text based (separation name in that…

Add a preference option to allow InDesign to give you PDF import options when you drag a PDF into an open InDesign window
When you drag a PDF into InDesign, it only loads the cursor with the first page of the PDF. In order to load multiple pages or specific pages of a PDF, you need to place the PDF and tick the box to show PDF import options.
Would be nice to have a preference to turn on so that when you drag in a multiple page PDF into an open ID window, it pops up those PDF import options dialogue box automatically. Of course, if it's just a single page PDF, it will just load the single page…

Placing multi-page PDF (script)
The script PlaceMultipagePDF is a very usefull and neat tool. However, I feel it miss a few options.
- Scale to document page size. With additional option of "fill frame proportionally", "fill content proportionally, "fit content to frame", "fit frame to content" and "center content".
- Option where to place the frame on the page: -- Option to place on any corner or center of page. -- Option to place on any corner or center of bleed. -- Option to have different options above on left and right page.

Export a specific color separation directly to PDF without having to print to file first.
Let's say you have a file that's CMYK plus one spot color (let's say Pantone 123). You want to create a PDF file for print that is only the separation of the Pantone 123 spot color. What I have to do now is create the color separation first by printing to file, then distill the resulting .ps file.
Can there be a way to directly export the color separation by using Export to Print PDF?
Maybe there is a way to do this already, but I have not been able to find any info online on how to do…7 votes -
Media Panel - PDF options of Video playback
Would be good if you could have more control over the behaviour of a video once output to PDF.
Currently all videos properties are set to "disable Content is selected from the context menu"
As a result I then have to edit each video property individually in acrobat DC to set it to
"The page containing the content is closed"3 votes -

Export Adobe PDF > Create separate pdf > Suffixes options (looking for Page Master suffix)
Exporting pages as separate PDFs, I want to ad the Masterpage-names in the PDF-file-name as an Suffix. (Perhaps followed by the pagenumber if necessary.)
Example:
Making single-page flyers, I've got Masterpages (Which contains a footer.) for different languages.
I make the same flyer on p1: UK, p2: FR, p3 DE, ...When exporting all pages to a separate PDF I would like to ad the Master-page-name (or prefix) as a Suffix to the filenames like:
FlyerUK
FlyerFR
Flyer_DEOr if the Master-page is used on multiple pages:
FlyerUK-p1
FlyerUK-p2
FlyerFR

Add and option to auto-convert RGB images to CMYK in Indesign, instead of doing it in Photoshop
When we package any file from Indesign, we many times need to make sure, that all images are in CMYK color profile before sending it to printer. We get warnings if images aren't in CMYK, but it would be nice to have an option to auto-convert all images to CMYK, instead of individually going in Photoshop.

Easy way to convert text to outline while exporting
Most of our printers still ask for fonts to be outlined.
Unfortunately the process to outline is very complicated and usually results in bullets, text box backgrounds and underline/over-lines disappearing. I also don't always want to flatten the whole document but simply rasterize the text. Especially when sending something to print that has different ink layers. Being able to outline text in the Export dialog box would be the best solution. This way I don't have to save a separate document or undo all my changes before saving so I retain my text in the Indd file.93 votes -
print to pdf as poster in custom page sizes
Please add print poster to pdf as pages size feature like adobe dc in windows. In mac, we can't print poster as pdf files. Like print 1650 mm x 630 mm as 15 files pdf in F4 size, 330x5=1650 210x3=630. 1650 x 630 = 15 F4 Papers.

Create button to open PDF file in a separate tab, from InDesign
If I create an interactive PDF with a button to open another PDF, it overrides the currently open PDF with no route back to the original PDF. In InDesign, it would be useful to be able to tell the button to open the file separately rather than overriding the original. This is obviously only an issue if it's a PDF as other file types will naturally open in their native program, ie: .doc for Word.
The current work-around for this is to create a link field directly in Acrobat to open the file, as this allows for opening …

Options to enter #firstpage #lastpage in PDF filename
It would be great if you could add the option to add #firstpage and #lastpage to PDF filename. Lots of typographers require that in order to keep publications in order.
I work for a monthly magazine and in our workflow we create single articles that we gather into an InDesign Book. This would avoid the need of renumbering ALL the publication filenames – in case something changes in the articles order of appearance – and rebuild the Book before the PDF creation (I do this via a script by Peter Kahrel that exports the Book as single documents)2 votes -
possibility to change the filename when making a PDF while packaging
We always define our PDF's with a coding for HR or LR, and I always need to manually add it after packaging. Why not make the naming of the PDF standard as identical to the indd filename, but with an option to change it or add something to it, like what PDF settings where used.
