  1. Add a preference option to allow InDesign to give you PDF import options when you drag a PDF into an open InDesign window

When you drag a PDF into InDesign, it only loads the cursor with the first page of the PDF. In order to load multiple pages or specific pages of a PDF, you need to place the PDF and tick the box to show PDF import options.

Would be nice to have a preference to turn on so that when you drag in a multiple page PDF into an open ID window, it pops up those PDF import options dialogue box automatically. Of course, if it's just a single page PDF, it will just load the single page…

  2. Bug when embedding pdf objects in Indesign Layout.

A PDf with text is embedded in Indesign. When exporting the Indesign document, certain fonts that were correctly displayed in the PDF are torn. In the appendix an example with incorrect display.

  3. PDF of thumbnails of file

This is a basic feature request. Let me send clients a 2x2 or 3x3 thumbnail PDS for easy printing and comparison. Currently, the print dialog box says PDF of thumbnails not supported.

  4. Placing multi-page PDF (script)

The script PlaceMultipagePDF is a very usefull and neat tool. However, I feel it miss a few options.

    • Scale to document page size. With additional option of "fill frame proportionally", "fill content proportionally, "fit content to frame", "fit frame to content" and "center content".
    • Option where to place the frame on the page: -- Option to place on any corner or center of page. -- Option to place on any corner or center of bleed. -- Option to have different options above on left and right page.

  5. PDF of thumbnails from Print Dialog box

I'd like to send a PDF of my 3x3 thumbnails for a client instead of printing out or sending a PDF of individual digital ads. My print dialog box says Not Supported when I try to create a PDFs.

Seems like a simple fix. Anyone else?

  7. Media Panel - PDF options of Video playback

Would be good if you could have more control over the behaviour of a video once output to PDF.

Currently all videos properties are set to "disable Content is selected from the context menu"
As a result I then have to edit each video property individually in acrobat DC to set it to
"The page containing the content is closed"

  8. PDF Password Print (BUG and New Feature)

As suggested by @Abhishek Rao on Adobe community
I report here the problem and the new functionality...

PDF Password (BUG and New Feature)

When I export a document to PDF from Indesign (or illustrator), I would need to password protect the Copy/Modification of the elements in my PDF, at the same time allow READING and PRINTING of that PDF document.

All this is currently ALLOWED BY "INDESIGN"! in PDF export.
When I create a PDF with these limitations, I open it in ACROBAT and I can SEE and PRINT IT.
When I try to MODIFY IT, Acrobat asks me…

  9. Export Adobe PDF > Create separate pdf > Suffixes options (looking for Page Master suffix)

Exporting pages as separate PDFs, I want to ad the Masterpage-names in the PDF-file-name as an Suffix. (Perhaps followed by the pagenumber if necessary.)

    Example:
Making single-page flyers, I've got Masterpages (Which contains a footer.) for different languages.
I make the same flyer on p1: UK, p2: FR, p3 DE, ...

When exporting all pages to a separate PDF I would like to ad the Master-page-name (or prefix) as a Suffix to the filenames like:
    FlyerUK
    Flyer
    FR
    Flyer_DE

Or if the Master-page is used on multiple pages:
    FlyerUK-p1
    Flyer
    UK-p2
    FlyerFR
    Flyer
    DE

  11. Export a specific color separation directly to PDF without having to print to file first.

Let's say you have a file that's CMYK plus one spot color (let's say Pantone 123). You want to create a PDF file for print that is only the separation of the Pantone 123 spot color. What I have to do now is create the color separation first by printing to file, then distill the resulting .ps file.
Can there be a way to directly export the color separation by using Export to Print PDF?
Maybe there is a way to do this already, but I have not been able to find any info online on how to do…

  12. print to pdf as poster in custom page sizes

Please add print poster to pdf as pages size feature like adobe dc in windows. In mac, we can't print poster as pdf files. Like print 1650 mm x 630 mm as 15 files pdf in F4 size, 330x5=1650 210x3=630. 1650 x 630 = 15 F4 Papers.

  13. Add and option to auto-convert RGB images to CMYK in Indesign, instead of doing it in Photoshop

When we package any file from Indesign, we many times need to make sure, that all images are in CMYK color profile before sending it to printer. We get warnings if images aren't in CMYK, but it would be nice to have an option to auto-convert all images to CMYK, instead of individually going in Photoshop.

  14. Easy way to convert text to outline while exporting

Most of our printers still ask for fonts to be outlined.
Unfortunately the process to outline is very complicated and usually results in bullets, text box backgrounds and underline/over-lines disappearing. I also don't always want to flatten the whole document but simply rasterize the text. Especially when sending something to print that has different ink layers. Being able to outline text in the Export dialog box would be the best solution. This way I don't have to save a separate document or undo all my changes before saving so I retain my text in the Indd file.

  16. possibility to change the filename when making a PDF while packaging

We always define our PDF's with a coding for HR or LR, and I always need to manually add it after packaging. Why not make the naming of the PDF standard as identical to the indd filename, but with an option to change it or add something to it, like what PDF settings where used.

  17. Export PDF to Google Drive (Cloud)

Please make it possible to export a PDF directly from InDesign to Google Drive (see Adobe Spark)

Currently this is only possible if you use Google Drive File Stream. (Desktop App)

  18. Interactive PDF with validated (a.k.a. pre-formatted) fields

In inDesign, the PDF dialog really needs to have all of the functionality when formatting interactive fields as Adobe Acrobat Pro does.

I try to set up my interactive forms in inDesign for ease and efficiency of workflow, but when my manager asks me to "create them as validated fields" (i.e. the phone number is pre-formatted to be a 10 digit number input only, a SSN is also formatted to be a 9 digit number only, etc.) then I have to add another step in the process by re-doing the interactive fields in Acrobat, which is a major headache and…

  19. Open pages of a pdf file in a single InDesign file

I always face this problem where I need to open a single page of a pdf. file to do amendment. It’s difficulty when my client doesn’t have the working file (indd). I hope adobe is allowing me to open all pages of a pdf. file in a single InDesign.

  20. Missing Native macOS PDF/Email Workflow Support

As a macOS user, I’m frustrated by how the Adobe suite bypasses one of the platform’s most useful features: the ability to generate and email PDF files directly from the Print dialog.

macOS includes a built-in PDF menu that allows users to save a printout as a PDF or create an email with the PDF attached—no intermediate steps required. It’s fast, efficient, and built for productivity.

However, Adobe applications ignore this native integration. Instead, we’re forced to go through an outdated and cumbersome process: export the document as a PDF, save it manually, open an email client, and then…
