1. BUG: Changes aren't tracked for bottom-right table cell

   The last cell in a table is a “dead” cell as far as Track Changes is concerned. If you copy cells from another row and paste them in the last table row, if the selection you are pasting into contains the last cell in the table, the pasted text will not be marked as a change. Likewise, inserting a new row in a table as the last row via drag and drop isn’t marked as an insertion at all. Inserting a new column in a table as the last column via drag and drop is tracked as an insertion for each cell in the column, except for the bottom cell.

   I recognize that there are some limitations with Track Changes in tables, but the Track Changes feature should work consistently whether or not the bottom-right cell of the table is selected.

2. Bad bug when previewing image area beyond the picture box crop

   There’s a terribly bad bug when previewing image cropping. If you click on an image and hold the cursor down, to preview the image area beyond the picture box window, InDesign literally moves the image inside by a few pixels, so, a) it doesn’t accurately show where you HAD the image placed, and b) you always have to Undo Move Item to restore where you had it placed, which makes picture cropping preview completely useless.

   A simple fix would be to show a ghost of what is being cropped when you select the image so that it shows the move area icon and image size.

   My field may be unique because I am always having to extremely critical image cropping, to the very pixel. I can’t always do critical cropping in Photoshop before importing into InDesign.

   There’s another area for improvement too, when you are resizing an image within the picture box with the red total image area highlighted, when you scale up or down, the X and Y measurements should display the live percentage changes as you the scale the image, so that you know when you are close to 100% reproduction size, for example. The X & Y percentages don’t update until you have finished resizing the picture. This is a missed opportunity.

3. Shortkeys causing program to freeze

   Hi, I'm using the latest Indesign CC on my windows 10 laptop
   Indesign keeping freezing and doesn't recover when i use any shortcut keys.
   E.g ctrl E to export a PDF will crash the program, so i need to go the long way of file - export etc

4. Continuous issues with 21.1 on Windows 11 - Won't Open/Crashing

   Since updating to 21.1 (2026), I have to repair the Visual C++ Redistributables, restart, and then reset preferences with Shift+Ctrl+Alt just to get InDesign to open. Error OXC0000142. I have done this numerous times, and each week, I have to do it again.

   It also has crashed my (and others on our team) computers which makes them boot into the BIOS to a Support Repair screen.

   21.1 is near unusable at this point.

5. InDesign fails to launch

   I cannot start InDesign on my Windows 10 notebook even though the rest of the Adobe apps work relatively well. On my main PC it runs without any problems. I tried re-installing the software, but it didn't help.

6. File saving issue

7. Windows 15.0.3 broke Book TOC when exporting to EPUB; works in 15.0.2

   Windows 10 15.0.3 broke Book TOC when exporting to EPUB; works in 15.0.2

   Not only did 15.0.3 eliminate Book > Export to EPUB option of EPUB Version 2.0.1, it changed the Table of Contents to include duplicate entries linking to every PAGE within a chapter. The Book.epub file had a separate .xhtml file for every page in the book, rather than one .xhtml file per chapter and one TOC entry per chapter. This makes the Table of Contents useless.

   Reverting InDesign back to 15.0.2 fixes the problem.

8. Measurement tool not working on ID 2021

   The measurement tool does not work very well in Indesign 2021. Most of the time there is no reaction to mouse clicks and if you eventually managed to create a measurement line, it is very hard to move the endpoints to a new location.
   I am working on a Windows PC with Win 10.

9. Button: Delete optional state and its content

   In the Button and Forms panel, the button [Delete optional state and its content] is always gray, it will not delete the selected button states.

   This is in ID2018, 2019, 2020 Mac & Windows. I have to go back to CS6 to see it working.

10. footnotes in paragraph borders style

    While using paragraph borders and footnotes, borders break as in attached file. It won't display either preview mode properly though sometime exporting to pdf is perfect in other time it's same as attached pdf.

    I'm using Indesign latest 14. 0.3 one in windows 7.

11. InDesign 13.1 book page numbering does not work

    InDesign 2018 13.1 on Windows 10 64bit: book page numbering does not work anymore.
    book page options: continue on next odd page, insert blank page: check, automatically update page and section numbers: check.
    pagenumbers shown in the book-file begin all with 1,
    in every single file the automatic page numbering is activated

12. Severe UI Latency and Rendering Delays After Updating to Version 21.0 and Later (Windows 11 – Build 26200.7923)

    Description:
    After updating to Version 21.0 and all subsequent releases, the application exhibits significant UI latency and rendering delays. The user interface becomes intermittently unresponsive, with interactions (panel updates, tool changes, UI redraws, etc.) taking 30–40 seconds to visually update. This behavior occurs consistently across sessions.
    Environment:

    OS: Windows 11 Pro — Build 26200.7923
    Storage Tested: OneDrive-based project files and fully local NVMe SSD storage (no performance difference)
    Systems Tested: Issue reproduced on two separate PCs with different hardware configurations
    Application Versions Tested: 21.0 and all newer versions

    Observed Behavior:

    UI redraws and component updates are extremely slow (~30–40 seconds).
    General interface interaction becomes sluggish or temporarily unresponsive.
    No improvement when:

    Moving project files off OneDrive to a local NVMe drive
    Restarting the application or OS
    Clearing caches
    Testing on a second machine with clean installation

    Expected Behavior:

    Instant or near‑instant UI responsiveness similar to pre‑21.0 builds.
    No dependency on storage location for UI performance.

    Impact:
    This issue severely affects workflow efficiency—basic tasks become slow and cumbersome, significantly reducing productivity.
    Additional Notes:
    Based on testing, the problem appears to be directly related to changes introduced in Version 21.0 and later, and not environmental factors such as hardware, storage, or cloud syncing.

13. Folio overlays

    Abode indesign CC 2017 - 08/30 - Windows
    My colleague and I are trying to make a folder with Publish online, and sometimes we need 'Folio Overlays' tool - but it doesn't work. For me it's too big to see on the screen, makes everything slow - and for her, it doesn't work at all, it doesn't show anything at all.

14. JavaScript appliedMaster override causes textFrame to move on X axis

    When overriding via JavaScript, the same elements (textFrames) move 0.75" to the right on the x axis!

    This does not happen when overriding master elements on a page manually - everything works as expected i.e. the textFrames don't move.

    I'm using InDesign 14.0.2 x64 on Windows 10.

15. Updating table of contents causes a previously placed graphic to be placed in the table of contents

    Updating the table of contents causes InDesign to place a previously placed Illustrator file into the table of contents area. It also adds a new link in the document for this duplicated graphic.

    I'm running Windows 10 on a Dell Precision 670 workstation with 32 Gb of ram and a few terrabytes of storage.

16. Cannot place Excel .xlsm files

    Adobe InDesign 2021's File > Place... dialog does not allow the selection of Excel .xlsm files even though it appears to be capable of importing them.

    On Windows, this can be worked around somewhat painfully by showing "All Files" in the Place dialog, but in macOS there is no similar workaround.

17. InDesign process dies after 3 minutes

    I'm facing the following problem. I'm on a new Windows 11 (24H2) and have Creative Cloud and various apps like Photoshop (26,11), Illustrator (29.8.2) or InDesign (20.5) installed. Every app works fine except InDesign. No matter what INDD file I work on, what menu I'm in or if I just leave the app open showing the start page, after 3 minutes the InDesign.exe dies. I've checked that I have the latest updates, reinstalled it, removed all presettings of previous versions, tried to run as admin and in compatibilty mode. Nothing changes. It runs 3 minutes and then suddenly dies. In Windows event logs is nothing reported around that moment so I have no clues, what's the reason.

18. Bug: Cannot cancel or requeue background tasks, ID keeps activating fonts for good

    Indesign 2024, Windows 10.
    Problem 1: even with Adobe Fonts being activated, ID 2024 starts to activate fonts it finds in \Fonts folder, doing that for good and the tasks cannot be canceled.
    Problem 2: other tasks, like PDF export, are then queued and cannot be processed at all unless you could move them up the queue, which doesn't work.

19. Indesign Version 19 - Still can't reorder parent pages via drag and drop or otherwise

    Please fix this bug!! We used to be able to reorder the parent pages and for the last two versions it's impossible to do. This is necessary because parent pages can be used for elements that repeat throughout the document - like Appendixes. It would be nice to have them in order so that other designers will know what they're looking at! Thanks!

    FYI - I believe this is only an issue on Mac. A coworker using a PC has no problem.

20. Color and Swatch in control panel extends pass screen edge
