  1. World-Ready composer breaks hyperlinks for Publish Online

When the WR composer is applied to text, it breaks hyperlinks when the document is published via Publish Online. The hyperlinks work fine when the document is sent to PDF. The hyperlinks work fine when the WR composer is changed to the Adobe Paragraph Composer.

  2. renumbering pages during optimization

I combined single pdf pages into a new binder. Labeled page numbers, and some with prefix. Saved it out as a optimized file and the numbers are now relabeling themselves. Tends to happen when I have created a prefix in the page labels. Never happened before Adobe CC 2018.

  3. The numbered portion of a heading in its own frame cannot be included in conditional text

    Windows 10 InDesign version 13.1 x64 (CC up-to-date)
I created a sequentially numbered head using bullets and numbering in Style editor. Placed the head in its own frame at the top of a page (# mark at the end of the head). Selected the head (variously using click-drag and 4-click) Only the directly entered text highlighted - not the numbered portion, not the # symbol. I applied a text condition. When the condition was made invisible, the directly-entered text disappeared as expected, but the numbered portion of the text ("Section 9:") did not. Numerous attempts to select the numbered portion…

  4. En Dashes turned into a Russian Cyrillic Small letter Yeru

On Feb. 19, 2018, I worked on a document in InDesign CC 13.0 (Mac). I saved the document and all was good. Yesterday, March 28, 2018, I made some edits to the same document using CC 13.1 (Mac). But when a co-worker reviewed it, they noticed that the En Dashes (Unicode: 2013) I had used as a Bullet character had turned into a Russian glyph (Cyrillic Small letter Yeru, Unicode: 044B).

The bulleted section of the document was not revised between Feb. 19th and yesterday. The edits I made were in other sections of the document. Nor did I change…

  5. Performance GPU

Issue at hand. The latest InDesign and Illustrator have poor GPU performance. All of my fonts and graphics are "blurry" and Pixlelated. No one has called me back, and am pretty disappointed.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Open existing document.

    4) Setup...
    5) Preferences
    6) Change anything in printer preferences.

  7. Changes are not tracked when you copy and paste text from more than one cell into a table

    1. This exists in all version of InDesign and InCopy.

    2. To reproduce (see corresponding images):

    a) Create a new document with a table filled with text and in InCopy set it to tr.ack changes.

b.) Copy the contents of at least two cells.

c.) Paste the contents into different cells.

d.) Initially these changes will be showed as tracked in story/galley view.

e.) When the document is saved and the reopened these changes are no longer tracked.

    1. The expected result is that the changes should remain tracked after the document is saved and reopened.

  8. copy multiple text-frames > crash

When I try to copy more then one text-frame InDesign (latest version, Mac, El Capitan) crashes.

Sad to say that this does not happen in every document (but in more than one), so it's hard to find the cause.

  9. Table Footers Prevent Auto Row Creation

Normally, if a table with fewer body rows than will be needed if content gets pasted, body rows get created automatically. However, if there is a footer row, then the additional rows get created in the footer.
This behavior does not seem intentional since the automatically-created body rows seems more useful. A workaround can be to remove the footer row, then add it back after the contents have been pasted and the body rows created.

  10. pasting crash

InDesign CC 13.1 — EVERY time I copy text from another program (PDF, email, Word, ANYTHING other text within InDesign), InDesign crashes immediately upon pasting into a text box within InDesign. No spinning beach ball. Just shuts down and closes. This is untenable and needs to be fixed. Productivity and my job depend on it. Can anyone please help solve this issue? Thank you.

To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

If you still face this issue even after updating to the latest version of InDesign, please submit the crash report to us. (The guidelines to submit crash are available at (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/submit-crash-reports.html)

  11. Exporting a Snippet Causes Crash

Whenever I try to export a snippet, either through dragging the ID item onto the desktop, or by going to File > Export > Snippet, InDesign will crash. The only way to get a snippet is by adding it to a library by using the flout menu in the Library panel.

I am on mac OS 13.13.3 and InDesign 13.0.1

  13. [BUG] PDF size is to high using the export feature

With this post I would like to report an issue regarding the export feature of Adobe Indesign. When exporting a PDF-file from Indesign, the PDF file size is unnecessary to high and the document contains a lot of overhead. After the same pdf-file is resaved using the default Os X preview application, the overhead is removed and the file size is correct. Please fix this issue.

    Hello All,

Thank you for your patience all this while.
We had launched our investigation into the matter to get to the root cause of the problem. As the part of our investigation, we had reached out to many of you personally over email.
We have concluded our investigation and have come up with few findings.

    1. For many of the users the issue got fixed after updating InDesign to a newer version.
    2. For some, the issue got resolved after disabling a third-party application such as Suitecase fusion etc.
    3. For few, the issue was intermittent and is no longer reproducible.
    4. For majority of the users, the underlying cause of the performance issue was identified to be related to span columns, cross-references, third party plugin etc.

We have created separated threads for these issues and we are now working towards resolving them.

However, over the time this thread…

  15. Accessible PDF Exported from ID contains SPANS in Reading Order panel

    InDesign Version: 13.1

To reproduce issue, create an InDesign document with some styles, map styles to tags and export to PDF with tags (accessible pdf).

Expected result is that in the Reading Order panel (and Content pane), each paragraph is wrapped in an appropriate container.

The actual result is that each line of text within a paragraph is wrapped in a span container.

Although this doesn't seem to directly affect the accessibility of the file, it makes additional remediation difficult because of the many containers found in the PDF file.

    Hello All,
We acknowledge that the issue is slowing you down and we regret the same.
Our investigation suggests that the issue lies in the latest update of Acrobat and there is little that can be done at our end to resolve the issue.
The problem has been communicated to the relevant team.
In the meanwhile we are closing this thread for InDesign.

    Regards,
    InDesign Team

  16. [ID-4206993] InDesign crashes when exporting to PDF, but not to JPEG

I'm using InDesign 13.1 for a simple 12 page booklet (see attached)

First issue: ID was doing background work on a file for about 4 days and then ID crashed. Now whenever I open the program it asks me if I want to do "Automatic Recovery" for the file. If I click YES or CANCEL the program crashes. If I click NO the program stays open and I can continue to work. But if I go to export the 12 page booklet to PDF it crashes.

I have: (1) uninstalled and reinstalled ID; (2) tried to export the file to…

  17. Incorrect Page Count Value

It appears that InDesign CS6 or any of the later CC versions is incorrectly writing the page count metadata, such as CC2018.

This can be demonstrated using Adobe Bridge or ExifTool with the -XMP-xmp:PageImagePageNumber command.

Files consisting of 1 to 2 pages are correctly reported. In all cases, only 2 pages are being shown, whether the file has 3, 4, 128 pages etc.

    Screenshots from Bridge CC2018 uploaded/attached.

    Hi Stephen,

There is a preference in InDesign to save preview images with document, by default ‘First 2 Pages’ is selected in that preference. You can change the setting as per your requirement. It is under ‘InDesign CC/ Edit→Preferences→File Handling’.

    Thanks

  20. HTML Export Endnotes with Hyperlinks

    Version: InDesign CC 2018 - 13.1

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Use the endnote feature and in one of the endnotes (preferably after the first one), add a hyperlink.

    2. Export the InDesign document to HTML

Expected Result: All endnote references are hyperlinked and the numbers for each endnote are backlinked back to the reference.

Actual Result: Endnote number is missing for all endnotes after the hyperlink that was added to the endnote and no linking occurs after the manual hyperlink.
