1. Show Hyperlinks

   I'm having a problem displaying hyperlinks. Absolutely nothing happens when I enable "Show Hyperlinks" in the menu. I need to highlight my hyperlinks, but the option isn't working.

2. shift-click to deselect is not working

   Shift-click to deselect is not working: Drag to select multiple objects, then shift-click on one of them to deselect from the set, and it deselects ALL EXCEPT the one object you were intending to deselect! Just happened after updating to InD 20.4.1 MacOS.

3. InDesign Color Settings Are Overwritten by Other Versions

   Summary:
   InDesign is unable to maintain separate color settings for each version. Whenever a different version is activated, the color settings are forcibly overwritten by the last activated version.

   Steps to Reproduce:
   Launch InDesign 2025 and set the color settings to “Preset A” (e.g., a print vendor’s recommended settings).
   Launch and activate InDesign 2024.
   Without any warning, InDesign 2024 will adopt the same Preset A color settings.
   This also occurs in the opposite direction: activating either version will overwrite the other’s previously configured color settings.

   Expected Behavior:
   Like Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign should maintain independent color settings for each version.

   Actual Behavior:
   InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Bridge all write the currently selected color setting preset to the shared sync file:
   ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/Color/ACEConfigCache2.lst
   This file is what allows Bridge to synchronize color settings across Adobe apps.

   However, InDesign is the only application that overwrites the settings record for another version of InDesign, regardless of version.

   Root Cause:
   All apps use the same file, but only InDesign fails to differentiate versions.
   This causes one version of InDesign to overwrite the color settings of another—simply by being activated.

   Commentary:
   This behavior disrupts professional workflows.
   In environments such as print production where different versions of InDesign must use different color settings (e.g., for different clients or print vendors), this is a critical issue.

   InDesign should follow the same behavior as Photoshop and Illustrator:
   Write version-specific entries to ACEConfigCache2.lst, and avoid overwriting other versions’ settings.

   Summary:

4. InDesign version 20.4.1: The Y coordinates for lines are the same with the top edge and the bottom.

   See attached video. I'm also having trouble updating Creative Cloud despite following every recommended fix, including repair. It won't let me delete it unless I also delete every Adobe product. VERY frustrating.

5. Bug: tint remains when applying a different swatch

   Indesign 2025, v20.2, Windows 11
   Steps to reproduce:
   1. Have at leat two swatches in the swatches panel. The 1st with, for instance, 20% tint and the 2nd with 100%
   2. Type some text and select it, then apply the swatch with the 20% tint.
   3. Then apply the other swatch.
   Result: the text isn't display in the color of the 2nd swatch, because the tint is not changed to 100%

8. Eyedropper tool should not copy content fill by default.

   I don't think I have ever needed to copy the content fill settings from one image frame to another, but by default the eyedropper tool copies how the photo fills the frame, which is pretty annoying.

   Requested Feature: Please add a checkbox specifically for content fill. Please have it unchecked by default.

   Right now you can only disable content fill from being apply by unchecking "color and tint," which doesn't make sense and is not intuitive.

   Expectation 1: eyedrop a frame to copy it's color/stoke/ other attributes, but not content fill which changes the size/position of the image within the frame
   Result 1: eyedrop tool copies content fill, requiring me to reposition the photo again, or manually update other attributes.

   Expectation 2: after learning you could potentially change what attributes the eyedropper changes, I looked for something like "content fill" but found nothing.

   Result 2: By process of elemination, I fouund that "Color and Tint" disabled content fill from being copied.

9. Where is the link to online Files in Creative Cloud Desktop?

   Up until recently, when I shared InDesign files, I was able to open the CC Desktop app, go to Files > Files, and there would be a direct link to my online files. That very convenient feature has disappeared completely. My workaround has been to add an internet shortcut to my Windows Explorer files.

   I have been told that it was removed because of problems on the backend with InDesign, but if that were the case, then I would have also been able to access that direct link in CC Desktop for files shared from Photoshop or Illustrator. It's bad enough that the Acrobat files are in a completely different area, but I've gotten used to that.

   Am I the only one that finds myself needing to view the online version of a review file instead of just relying on the comments I can see in InDesign?

10. Creative Suite apps are INSANELY slow

    All Creative Cloud programs are insanely slow and lagging. It's nearly impossible to use 2 or 3 of them at the same time, and I need to restart my computer every hour to even be able to do some very basic tasks. The problem is happening in all programs, Indesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro ertc.
    This is happening on ALL computers I used in past years, and everything was up to date. It's not about 3rd party add-ons or resetting preferences, or any advice you offer.
    Some weeks ago I killed off all Adobe/CC background processes and everything worked perfect until the next time I restarted the computer. I tried to re-do this, but it doesn't help any more, or I can't remember what exactly I did.
    Obviously - it's some unoptimized background process or service causing it.
    I can see on forums that many other users have the same problem.
    You should take this seriously and finally fix it up. This is causing lots of problems and time is being wasted for millions of your users.

11. When Application Frame is Turned Off, News Windows Size Behind GUI/Tools

    I'm one of the many users that doesn't like the Application Frame in either Illustrator or InDesign because I usually like to drag&drop things or switch between applications on my Mac as I work creatively.

    I hate that when a new window is generated (opening a file or creating a new one) it is sized beyond the size of my laptop screen and always BEHIND my docked tools in both Illustrator and InDesign software. Photoshop has the sense not to do this so whats going on with these other tools???

    I have to drag the new window over just to get to a corner and scale it back down to match my work environment every single time. Really frustrating and it seems like such an easy fix. Please, please let's do a little QA for UX and UI on these 2 important tools. I would truly appreciate that and so would a large number of your other user-base, I'm sure.

12. Alt Text (Accessibility) not exported to ePub

    1. ID, Version 20.4.1.
    2. Steps: Layout ID document with images. Add Alt Text to images under IPTC Core/Alt Text (Accessibility) in Bridge. Place images in ID. Check for Alt Text under Object/Object Export Options/Alt Text. Alt Text is there under From XCP: Alt Text (Accessibility). Export document to reflowable ePub.
    3. Expected result: Check html. Alt Text appears in the alt tags (alt="").
    4. Actual result: alt tags are empty.

    Podczas eksportu pliku do formatu PDF występuje problem z kolorem tekstu.
    Jeśli plik zawiera grafiki w formacie PNG lub elementy z przezroczystością, czarny tekst po eksporcie ma kolor zielony.

16. Reveal in Bridge not works

    In the image context menu, bridge preview does not work if the image name contains apostrophe characters.
    Bridge will not show a file with this name: abc '123' name.jpg
    and if there are no apostrophe characters it works (abc 123 name.jpg)

18. InDesign 20.4 Windows 11 Bug. UXP Plugin Panel and Dialog have incorrect behavior of html SELECT tag

    InDesign 20.4 Windows 11: After updating from version 20.3.1 to 20.4 UXP, the plugin, which worked fine in the previous version, now has problems with displaying dialogs and panels, namely:
    all SELECT tags on a panel are stopped responding to modification.
    Version 20.3.1 does not exhibit these problems; dialogs and panels display SELECT tags correctly and respond to user modifications.
    In version 20.4, SELECT tags respond only by changing the border color to blue; the list is not displayed at all. It is impossible to change the selected list item. In the dialog, this behavior is observed in all elements.
    Reinstalling version 20.4 did not solve the problem. The incorrect behavior of the application persists.
    Beta and release version 20.3.1: The plugin behaves normally.

19. [ID-4275271] Find/Replace Dialog box functionality was changed in 20.3 tabbing from Find now goes to the Special Character button

    in InDesign 20.3 there was a change to the find/replace dialog box. When I tab out of the "Find what:" field it goes into "Specials characters for search" button instead of the way it used to work where it would tab into "Change to:" field.

    I work on large books with data that I cannot control how it comes in and it is not connected. These books have three versions so there are three layers to work on. I need to make the same changes to all three layers. I have a rhythm, and I tend to work fast. At this point it is pure muscle memory (18 years of doing it this way) when using find and replace. Trying to remember to add an extra tab is constantly slowing me down and really frustrating me.

    If you cannot change it back, PLEASE give me the option to disable it or turn the special character button off so it will bypass it. And work the way it used to. I do not use it, have never in 18 years used it and won't use it.

    I was able to turn off everyone single choice in that button and even with nothing to select it still has the option to open an empty drop-down menu.

    I looked at many different forums. Went through numerous settings, If I missed a way to do this I apologize and would love to know where to look.

20. Variable Fonts in inDesign show different hinting results when compared to other environments

    InDesign v20.3.1 x64, Windows 11

    It appears that inDesign is maybe not able to correctly variate CVT values, causing unexpected hinting results. It seems as though CVT values that are used depend on the variable font’s default style/source. A possible way to recreate the issue: Compare the same variable font built in the same way but with a different default source set for each. If Hair (weight: 100) is set as the default, then it will appear in inDesign as if the Regular (weight: 400) is maybe using the CVT values of the Hair. This is shown in the first screenshot. It is not possible to recreate this issue in another environment such as Chrome. You would expect the choice of default style to not have any effect on the hinting result.

    Also attached is a screenshot that looks at the difference between a static and variable version of a Windows font: Segoe UI. Although this example is less valuable as it does not show as stark of a visual difference as the first screenshot and the static and variable versions are not exact matches, it stands to show a difference in variable font hinting that I found difficult to recreate in other environments outside of inDesign, possibly alluding to inDesign doing something unique with how it handles hinting in variable fonts.

    It appears that inDesign is maybe not able to correctly variate CVT values, causing unexpected hinting results. It seems as though CVT values that are used depend on the variable font’s default style/source. A possible way to recreate the issue: Compare the same variable font built in the same way but with a different default source set for each. If Hair (weight: 100) is set as the default, then it will appear in inDesign as if the Regular (weight: 400) is maybe using the CVT values of the Hair. This is shown in the first… more
