Copying multiple objects and switching documents causes InDesign to crash every single time.Copying multiple objects and switching documents causes InDesign to crash every single time. Copying text from inside of a box or copying a single object doesn't seem to cause the crash to happen. 3 votesTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. We are using various Hindi fonts on the mac and designing .indd files, intermittently we encounter crashing with certain Hindi fonts. Only one font has shown stable where we encounter no issues. Also images are coming as thumbnails at first, once it is the full high res-image that is imported the program crashes. 5. The crash reports below indicate the problem:

Cannot export to PDF in a Google Drive folderWhen exporting a large file to PDF which is located in a Google Drive folder, the background (export) process will stop with an error "cannot export to PDF" and sometimes ID will crash.
Tried several times and kept on stopping. Worked well when exported to the desktop (or any other non Google drive location).1 voteTo identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. XML structureI'm working with a client that needs to use InDesign and InCopy to create documents that are marked up with XML. After relinking stories or updating graphics in InCopy, it destroys any special structure set up with the XML. For example, I have a handful of charts that are nested under a parent tag which is then nested another parent tag. Inserted a chart into this frame in InCopy--saved and closed. Opening this file in InDesign, all nested XML is blown open. 2 votes

OpenType All Small Caps disappear when switching dictionary to GermanI have a text that uses the OpenType feature “All Small Caps” in a lot of places. It is currently set to use the English USA dictionary. I am working on translating this text into German, and so I want to use the German dictionary for it. When I try this, all instances of All Small Caps turn to regular lower-case letters. I tried a couple of different dictionaries, some (e.g. other English and Dutch) will retain the SC and others (e.g. None) will make them disappear. 2 votes

Copying from Illustrator pastes with strange colorsI used to be able to do this with no problem: copy a vector from Illustrator into InDesign and it look the same. Now, when I paste a logo, say, a teal and yellow one, into InDesign, the teal turns red! I have color swatches created in the Illustrator file, but even when I haven't done that, I've never seen this happen before. I now have to import many vector images instead, which is a huge inconvenience. 2 votes

STACK ORDER BUG: Deleting page 1 and 2 causes object to change stack order on subsequent pagesProblem
 1. Discovery of text box missing from page 39 in printed Catalogue.Review
 1. Immediately review INDD document to attempt to recreate error and report to client preliminary findings.
 a. The bug effects the stack ordering of objects on subsequent pages. In the Food & Beverage case, this missing text box from page 39 was in fact simply “underneath” the background yellow box.
 b. Error occurs when splitting out the cover pages to a separate document (to allow for a spine), whereby Page 1 and 2 and last 2 pages of document are deleted. Software bug appears to only…2 votes

Workspace disappearing and not being able to get it backSometimes all my right-handed Tools, that I carefully assembled in a workspace i like, disappear, like pages, Colors etc. Although being able to click them in den Window-Menu, nothing appears. The only way to get them back is to change to another workspace and re-create my own workspace piece by piece, which then might last a few weeks before not being able to use them again. Any ideas what goes wrong here?
What should i check?Kind regards, Thomas 8 votesAs confirmed by some of the users on email that the issue is no longer reproducible with Id 14.0.1 Closing the thread as fixed. -Abhinav

English (UK) dictionary apparently not workingWhy, when I have set things to PROPER English rather than American English, is the spellchecker still working in Mericanese? The attached will show British spellings being highlighted as wrong, yet PROPER English selected in preferences. Thank you! 3 votesYou can select the text frame and change the language in the Control panel
or you can select a specific portion of text, say a word, in a frame and change the language for that in the Control panel. If you want to change the application’s default language, in a no document state, edit the [Basic Paragraph] style in the Paragraph Styles panel (in Advanced Character Formats) category.
