Repeatable InDesign Crash with Open Office Data in the Clipboard
I am running InDesign CC, the current version as of March 2018, however I have seen this same bug in older versions of the program. It is not unique to this version.
We use Apache OpenOffice 4.1.0. If there is ANYTHING in the clipboard copied from ANY part of Open Office, it will cause a repeatable InDesign crash. The clipboard data could be text from the OpenOffice Writer program or cell data from the OpenOffice Calc program...it doesn't matter.
With Open Office data in the clipboard, if I attempt to use any of the right-click menus, or choose an item…

Please upgrade to the latest version InDesign CC 13.1 for the fix.If you are unable to see the update, go to Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

Open Recent numbering goes from 1 to 9, then 0 and then repeats 1 to 9, 0.
When selecting File > Open Recent, and there are more than 9 items (I have it set to 20), the items are listed numerically from 1 to 9 and then 0. Then it repeats 1-9, 0. One would expect 1-9, 10, 11, 12, 13, etc.
Obviously not a showstopper, but just something to fix.

character panel and control panel don't match
I've noticed sometimes when changing the font in one panel, the other does not reflect the change—they should always be in sync. The change does not occur on the document either—until both panels are manually made to match. So it appears 'Character' settings in the Control Panel are behaving independent of the floating Character Panel. These are mac installed fonts. Not Typekit.

Incorrect Page Count Value
It appears that InDesign CS6 or any of the later CC versions is incorrectly writing the page count metadata, such as CC2018.
This can be demonstrated using Adobe Bridge or ExifTool with the -XMP-xmp:PageImagePageNumber command.
Files consisting of 1 to 2 pages are correctly reported. In all cases, only 2 pages are being shown, whether the file has 3, 4, 128 pages etc.
Screenshots from Bridge CC2018 uploaded/attached.
1 voteHi Stephen,
There is a preference in InDesign to save preview images with document, by default ‘First 2 Pages’ is selected in that preference. You can change the setting as per your requirement. It is under ‘InDesign CC/ Edit→Preferences→File Handling’.
Thanks

locked into program
While working in InDesign, I have to right click anywhere in the window to be able to access anything else on my computer. It's like it doesn't want me working in any other program except InDesign so it's trapping me. This has been a problem since pretty much the first day I started using creative cloud. There are 6 other people in my office that have never had this problem and we all use the same version of InDesign.

InDesign 2018 crashing when I go to linked endnote text
I'm working with linked endnotes in InDesign 2018 (version 13.1), but my file originated in InDesign 2015 (I skipped 2017). I have already saved the document as an InDesign 2018 file but seem to be having problems importing a document with linked endnotes.
I'm starting with an old InDesign file because I'm working on volume 2 of a multi-book series and want to maintain all my old styles. I don't know if that's relevant, but I have worked successfully placing linked endnotes from word in previous books already. In this one, the endnote references appear to have links but when…

Publish Online Dashboard Analytics disappearing...
Apparently, the analytics for Publish Online are disappearing. Possibly anything before the most recent 25 are gone. Will those be returning? Can we recover that data? My clients need the info and sometimes request it months later, and we publish a ton of stuff using the system.

Table Footers Prevent Auto Row Creation
Normally, if a table with fewer body rows than will be needed if content gets pasted, body rows get created automatically. However, if there is a footer row, then the additional rows get created in the footer.
This behavior does not seem intentional since the automatically-created body rows seems more useful. A workaround can be to remove the footer row, then add it back after the contents have been pasted and the body rows created.1 vote -
Font lost when pasting text to ID 2018 from updated Excel for Mac 2016
InDesign CC 2018
Mac OS High Sierra and Mac OS El Capitan
Excel Mac 2016 updatedFont family used in inDesign document is not found after pasting table text from Excel file (a process that has been used successfully for some years) . First happened in High Sierra, and thinking it was the OS update that caused it, I reinstalled El Capitan. Tested the copy/paste using a newly installed version of Office without updating it, and had no problem. Updated Excel and the problem returned.

[BUG] PDF size is to high using the export feature
With this post I would like to report an issue regarding the export feature of Adobe Indesign. When exporting a PDF-file from Indesign, the PDF file size is unnecessary to high and the document contains a lot of overhead. After the same pdf-file is resaved using the default Os X preview application, the overhead is removed and the file size is correct. Please fix this issue.

The "typographer quotes" box is checked, but does not produce the correct result. InDesign 13.1 OS X 10.11.6 mid-2011 27" iMac w i7 processor. When going back to panel the box is still checked!
Also BIG slowdown in performance in this version - "spinning ball" for a loooong time!

When pasting or exporting, the Preview Panel will not resize, expands to the entire window
When exporting or pasting in Indesign 2018, the preview panel will not resize.
It expands to the entire window which there is no minimize button on top, only the cancel button. I have resize arrows but will not resize.1 vote -

after opening any second (and further) document
keyboard shortcuts doesn't do anything.
you cannot export (ctrl+E), close (ctrl+W), find (ctrl+F) or do anything else unless you click in text frame to activate text cursor. After that all shortcuts works as intended.

2018 Indesign/Incopy Check In Prompt On Close Does Not Actually Check in.
If we close Indesign or Incopy without checking in, the program will ask us if we want to. When we choose to check in, Adobe will act like it Checks In and then closes, but the changes are never saved back to the original file. Check In only works if we choose Check In manually before closing.
1 voteThe scenario mentioned is working as expected for us on both Mac & Win. Could you elaborate on the exact steps you are doing when you see this not working as expected?
Thanks,
