  2. Latest instead of the earliest version required in N-2 policy

Indesign 2024 is buggy on my 27" iMac running mac OS Big Sur. 2025 is not compatible. So I use 2023. Just after the introduction of ID2025, Indesign and Creative Cloud stopped working for some reason and after cleaning my system of Adobe files to have it running again, I only have access to 18.0 instead of the leatest 18.5.X. Why do we only get the earliest version 18.0 and not the latest version of the N-2? Can we get the most recent N-2 version? Thank you.

  3. Inversed Rounded Corners Don't Match on All Sides

When using the Inverse Rounded Corners in Corner Options, the corner shape doesn't match another box right next to it with the same settings when side by side. So when 2 boxes with the same corner options are next to each other it doesn't make a circle in the empty space but rather an angled rounded rectangle. It seems the top left and bottom right are one way and the top right and bottom left are another. It doesn't matter if the boxes are the same size or different. This issue was present in both InDesign 2020 and 2024 versions…

  4. InDesign 2025 stealing focus

InDesign 2025 and 2024 steal focus from all other Windows apps on a mult-monitor Windows 11 system. Make. It. Stop. Now. Please.

  5. scrolling text frame

When publishing my file online, a gap appears in the text within the scrolling text frame. (see attachment) The gap seems to be aligned to the place where the text hits the bottom of the container frame. There are no extra characters causing this gap in the text. I had the same issue with a document a year ago, but it looks like this bug is still there.

    Version: Indesign 2025

    Steps to reproduce issues:
•Paste longer text box into container box.
    •Align content to top left.
•Use overlays panel, choose "Scrollable frame," Scroll direction: vertical, Initial content position: Upper…

  6. The link is set to "anyone with link can comment" but it's still requiring a password

I have created a share for review link for others to comment on, however it's requiring them to log into an account even though it's set to "Anyone with the link can comment". This was not the case before, others could comment as a guest. Using InDesign 2024 v19.0.1

    The issue has been fixed.

Now the Share for Review links set to "Anyone with the link can comment" open in the browser without asking for an Adobe ID login & password.

  7. Footnate Adds Extra Space Above Span Columns

Adding a footnote to the first line of a story adds extra space beneath the second line of a story if line 3 is set to split columns.

  8. Comments in a review are stripped after I upgraded to the latest version of InDesign

Today I updated InDesign to the latest version (20.0, Windows). A client had left some comments in an online review initiated through the previous version, and now those comments are all stripped from the document when I open it in v20.0.

  9. Alternate glyphs change order unpredicatably

If I show some alternate glyphs (whether in the tiny popup - can we resize this? - or in the Glyphs panel), when I select one, the order of the other glyphs changes. This is really annoying - can they PLEASE stay in the same order, so I can easily switch between them. The current (wrong) system goes like this:
    Type a word
    Highlight a character
The miniscule glyphs pop-up pops up
I choose the second (miniscule) glyph in the pop-up
    I don't really like it
I choose the third glyph in the pop-up
    Hold on - isn't that the…

  10. current page marker font malfunction if 3 digits or more

The third digit and beyond in the "current page number" marker is distorted in certain fonts, and almost appears to be an old style number (shifted down and squished), even when I set the font's Figure Style to "Proportional Lining" under Paragraph Style > OpenType Features > Figure Style. In fact, it also seems to do it in automated footnote reference numbers, where control of the Figure Style doesn’t seem to work either. However, when I just type out the number using the same style, it appears correct. This issue appears to be in Adobe InDesign 2024 (19.3), but when…

  11. GPU performance and scrubby zoom missing

I'm using the most up to date version of InDesign and I cannot find my GPU performance anywhere. I wanted to use this to fix scrubby zoom, because my scrubby zoom is gone as well so I can't zoom in and out smoothly now. No matter where I look I can't find anything about GPU performance on any tab in InDesign and I'm starting to get really frustrated. Without GPU performance to fix the zoom, I can't use the program effectively without the scrubby zoom.

  12. 2024 lag

InDesign 2024 is lagging a lot—there's a delay in response when clicking onto a text or content box to edit the content. Even moving from page to page (at typical or fast display) there's a lag.

  13. Preferences: Type: Use of Typographer’s Quote reset to off

    1. Adobe InDesign 14.0.3
    2. Create or open a document with Use of Typographer’s Quote checkbox ticked. Copy/Paste text from a document (Word, TextEdit) into the InDesign document. Note that the resetting of the Preferences doesn't happen all the time, only sometimes and I haven't been able to narrow it down to a certain context.
    3. The pasted text should use Typographer’s Quote according to the Preferences.
    4. The quotes from that pasted text use straight quotes instead, and when opening the Preferences, the checkbox is now unticked.

Note: I've encountered this bug in previous versions of InDesign from CS5 up to the current…

  14. Whenever I use psd files in the links the pdf export file becomes huge like 10x bigger than when I a flatted version

I have a digital catalogue and in working with lots of psd in the links. To create a small pdf I have to instead of links the psd, to export to png and than put it in the indesign. This is a hassle when I have to edit the psd because i hav to take so many extra steps for a minor adjustment. Instead Indesign shoulde be handling the images conversion and flatening. And yes, I'm checking the export only appearce on the export.
The app is up to date and recently I had to format my pc so reinstalling…

  15. InDesign v19.5: Data Merge Problems with Diacritical

InDesign v19.5: Data Merge Problems with Diacritical

I wanted to use "Data Merge" again after a while, but I found that it no longer works as it did in the previous version (v18). In the old version (v18), "Data Merge" worked correctly with diacritics, but in the current version (v19.5), it does not, and it's definitely not a font issue (I’ve tried all of them). The ".csv" file is exactly the same as the one used before, and when I use the old version, everything works as it should. The problem occurs with certain characters, such as "Š", "Č" and…

  16. pdf import corrections

Indesign 19,.5 Imac 2020. When there are many corrections in a file it would be great if after accepting the correction, the correction would be deleted from the list of corrections, because Indesign can become very slow with 700+ corrections. And whats the use of keeping it in the list after accepting the correction.

  17. OpenType mark positioning messed up when using bidi text with Thaana font

The font uses ccmp feature to build dotted glyph from base glyphs.

When a LTR character comes into question, these glyphs are rendered incorrectly.

    See the screenshot.

  18. Deleting spreads takes many minutes

The time it takes to delete spreads increases with the number of spreads being deleted. To delete 200 spreads in one go, it takes ten to twenty minutes. This operation should be instantaneous.

  19. GREP styles do not work in text variables

The title should say it all. When setting a text variable in a paragraph style that includes GREP styles, the GREP styles are not applied to the text variable. This is a severe limitation of the variable functionality, and is similar to many other reported bugs concerning variables, the upshot of which is that variables need to behave more like ordinary text. This is one more instance in which this is true.

  20. BUG: Word import: Styles

    InDesign 19.5 x64 (Win) 2024

When importing Word files wrong styles are applied:

    1. with no frame selected a style is chosen (p.a. Style-A)
    2. click in a frame, selected Style is different (p.e. Style-B)
    3. Word is imported (formatting removed, local overrides kept) -> Text (even if cursor is within text formatted in Style-B) is formatted in Style-A

This is bad p.e. when italics is needed as local override, and the wrong style is italics too (then evereything is italcs ...).
