1. placed .svg - can't double click to select the svg content

   Indesign 20.5, Windows 11, german

   settings, perhaps relevant to the bug:
   - is disabled: "highlight objects with selection tool"
   - Extras > "Content Selection Tool" disabled/enabled – makes no difference

   Context: you can double click pageItems with places images and vector graphics to move or scale the content.
   With a placed SVG i can NOT double click to get to the the transformable orange content borders.

   I am forced to use either the "direct selection tool" (white arrow), the content selection tool (focus ring), or the "select content" icon in the controlpanel.

   Can somebody confirm, please?

2. facing page bleed issue on pdf export

   If I have facing pages setup with art that touches the inner page edge but does not go over that page border there is a tiny slice of that art that shows up when exporting a pdf. My client always notes it as an error. Example: left hand page has an image that fill the page and bleeds off the left but only touches the right hand side of the page. I use align to right of page so it is right on the edge. I export to pdf and a teeny tiny sliver of that image shows up on the right hand page. Evident when viewing the pdf as a single page. I have to move the image away from the edge by a 1/4 pt to fix.

3. Multi-level lists

   1. VERSION: 19.4

   2. ISSUE: If you create a multi-level list (1, 1.1, 1.2.3, etc) and export as an accessible PDF the list structure is not correct and presents the incorrect "List level" to the reader when using any assistive technology.

   EXPECTED RESULTS: When a new level of a list is created the sublist's <L> goes INSIDE the <LBody> tag to properly indicate the list is sublevel.

   ACTUAL RESULTS: In the most recent build of InDesign, the <L> is just a sibling of the <LBody>. This is not only incorrect an a violation of PDF/UA-1, it also requires fixing EVERY TIME you use this feature in InDesign because it voices the incorrect level to the user when listening using assistive technology.

4. Close/Minimize/Maximize buttons are hidden under the top menu on Mac OS

   For some reason the very top bar of the InDesign window is hidden underneath the top menu (File, Edit, etc.), making it impossible to minimize or move the window to another monitor. Currently the only solution I've found is to unplug my external monitor's HDMI cable from my Macbook which forces the InDesign window to appear properly.

5. Find/Change | Glyph | Failure to find characters with applied character styles

   Version: Adobe InDesign 19.5.4 and 20.3.1

   I cannot post a .zip here apparently, so I've put my InDesign file.

   Steps to reproduce:
   1. Make a character style that ONLY sets the font to bold.
   2. put down a glyph twice, I used the AE glyph (GID/CID 138).
   3. For one, apply bold manually.
   4. For the other, apply the bold character style.
   5. Open the Find/Change Glyph menu and enter the GID/CID used, along with the font and bold style.

   Expected Result:
   Both of the glyphs would be found

   Actual Result:
   Only the glyph without the character style applied will be found.

   As listed in multiple other reports, managing missing glyphs is a major pain point.

   Version: Adobe InDesign 19.5.4 and 20.3.1

7. Find/Replace doesn't jump to parent pages

   ID version 20.5, Windows 11
   Problem: when using the Find/Replace dialog, there is a switch to also search in parent pages. Usually, the find action would jump to the text it finds, but not to a parent page, at least not if the found text is in a locked text frame. But that's illogical. It could at least jump to that parent page. Whether it would mark the found text or not in the locked text frame, is discussable, but even that is no magic. Just mark the text, even if I, as user, cannot change it for the moment.

8. 2025 InDesign (v20.0) Frequent Crashing on MacOS 15.0.1 Sequoia

   Ever since the 2025 version of InDesign released earlier this month, I have had constant crashing issues while working on multiple files. I have been using MacOS 15 Sequoia since it released in September. At first it seemed to crash at random every 5-30 minutes while going between open indd tabs. I think I can more consistently trigger it now by trying to open/navigate around a .indt file. I have a screen recording attached of me clicking around with a 2025 .indt file, a 2025 .indd file, and a 2024 .indd file. Within this minute long recording, InDesign crashes twice, both times when going between/opening the .indt file to the regular 2025 .indd file.

   Adobe InDesign – PDF Export Page Range Defaults to Previous Settings

   When exporting a document to PDF in Adobe InDesign, the software retains the page range from the previous export session and uses it as the default setting for the next export. This behavior can lead to unintentional partial exports if the user forgets to manually reset the page range to "All" before exporting a new document or version.

   This issue disrupts workflow and increases the risk of delivering incomplete documents, particularly in environments with high output volume or multiple concurrent projects. It would be more efficient and user-friendly if InDesign automatically defaulted the page range to "All" for each new export operation, or at least provided an option in preferences to reset the range between exports.

   We request Adobe to consider implementing this feature in a future update to improve usability and prevent accidental export errors.

10. stroke window - drop down menu options

    Indesign 20.5
    In the stroke window there is functionality issue in the drop down menus - 'type' and 'start/end' for arrows etc. The drop down menu does not stay open to select an option. Very annoying and can't add arrows to lines. Also noticing the issue is in the toolbar as well for strokes.

11. Rulers units change from mm to point spontaneously

    Very odd: my units of millimeters suddenly turn to points - without me even touching the rulers. Problem is that scripts I made, go haywire now that InDesign seems to go back to its native points? This must be a bug, as the scripts worked fine up till very recently. But it's not just in the scripts. When I look e.g. at corner options, all millimeters have been replaced by points as well.

14. Bug: Wrong centered text justification in round text frames

    Center-aligned text in round text frames is misaligned, i.e. too far to the left. Please see screenshots for all details.
    As soon as you convert the frame to a rectangular one, text is aligned to center correctly.
    This is simply a calculation bug which should be fixed now finally - it persists for years already.

16. Indesign rimane incastrato negli angoli

    all'apertura del software, come si può notare in foto allegata, indesign rimane bloccato nell'angolo senza la possibilità di poterlo muovere in nessun modo, questo problema è presente ormai da diversi giorni e non riesco a capire come sistemare la situazione. Io uso il software per lavorare e facendo così non mi è permesso di continuare il mio lavoro. Ho provato ad disintallare e reinstallare, ma nulla.

17. PDF comments import issues

    PDF comments are imported in wrong places in the InDesign. If a text contains more than once in a frame, the comments are imported in improper position in the file. Samples files are uploaded for reference. Can you check and update.

    "In the 'Advanced' workspace ('Geavanceerd'), the 'Swatches' panel ('Stalen') does not open; instead, the 'Links' panel ('Koppelingen') always opens. In the 'Essentials Classic' workspace ('Essentiële werkruimte – Klassiek') it works correctly. This issue occurs in the Dutch-language version of InDesign and seems to be a bug in the workspace configuration."

20. shift-click to deselect is not working

    Shift-click to deselect is not working: Drag to select multiple objects, then shift-click on one of them to deselect from the set, and it deselects ALL EXCEPT the one object you were intending to deselect! Just happened after updating to InD 20.4.1 MacOS.
