An AI procedure/tool creates design variations across disparate custom page sizes in a document.
In a document that has multiple pages, where each page has different custom dimensions, what if there were an AI tool that used elements from page 1 to create adapted layouts for the remaining pages of the document?
You could include a few parameters, like whether or not to allow text smaller than agate text, or to allow new margins to be established vs honoring the document settings for margins, etc. Perhaps a disclaimer flag for elemetns that are small print text and could be omitted from smaller ad sizes.
The procedure/tool could consider heirachy based on size, color, brightnes…

Bring back Click-and-Drag character and paragraph interface
The scale scrubbers on the control panel/menus that allowed us to click and drag to adjust character size, tracking, line spacing, etc. were invaluable. It allowed us to see the changes as we were making them. Please bring them back! It takes me about eight times as long to lay out text now.

Pencil tool to hold specific stroke and color
In previous versions of ID i've been able to select the pencil tool (with no document open) and set it to a specific stroke and color and every time I would then click on the pencil tool to draw, it would do so with those specifications. In the latest CC version, that feature seems to be gone and now I draw and THEN have to set a stroke and color, which really slows me down! Tell me I'm not crazy like the pompous people in the forum! :)
When I'm doing a layout and sending images out for color work,…

Indesign Share for Review User/Stakeholder UI experience
I am finding a lot of user error on my stakeholder's side when it comes time for them to review.
I think some basic information should pop up on how to leave a proper comment when they first access the review or fix it so it is always default to highlight/strikethrough.
For example: They can leave a regular comment just fine, however, I have no idea where in the text the change should be because they don't highlight the text first then click the tool needed. It's a simple step for people who are familiar with these reviews but some…

option to disable power zoom
like the titel says: option to disable power zoom. i never use this 'feature' and its very annoying that this power zoom activates when i try to move the workspace with the hand-tool.

liking the stock images in ID panel. iStock is still easier to use for one reason -- the photos are huge and even bigger when clicked on to comp.

Option to turn off auto centre when selecting layers
When selecting objects in my layers panel, my screen jumps to that object. This is not what I want. No way. Never.
Sometimes i go through my layers and select them to see what they are especially if they aren't named. But i don't want to navigate to them automatically! If i have zoomed in and am looking at a particular object, there is no way i want some automatic feature to take me away to a different part of the document - just so i have to zoom out and go back to where i was focusing on.…

Please add Georgian Language Dictionary to Indesign.
There are many ardent Indesign users from Georgia and as yet there is no official Indesign dictionary. Peolpe manually creates extension files for the dictionary, writes them and also adds the Info.plist file to make it work somehow. I've done it on Windows too and it works, but it kind of doesn't work for Big Sur on mac and Indesign version 16. It will be best if you help design the Georgian language as well. If you'd like, I can send you some ready-made dictionary and spelling files for the Georgian language that I created myself for you to check…

Align Content on page - not just objects or selection
It would be great to have a button panel to align to page, not just align objects or align to selection. For example when I want text or an image dead center on the page it would be great to just be be able hit a keyboard shortcut or click a button and have it align to center of page, horizontally, vertically or both. I know there's tons of ways to work around it, but it would be so nice!

Detect a change in size of linked multi page PDF files
It would be great if ID could see if a placed PDF file changed number of pages. I often place multi page PDFs (financial documents) that span 1-20 pages and are updated/change number of pages as financial data updates. Currently it is a manual process to check the links panel for duplicate (page x) or visually look at the document to see if the total line is not there. These are 500+ page documents, so it takes forever sometimes!

search
Make the search bar visible when users press CMD+F (or windows alternative).
At the moment, when you click to search text on a document that's shared for review, it seems like the search bar doesn't appear. But in reality it's hidden behind the comments panel. You have to close the comments/preview panels to see it.
This causes a lot of "there's no search bar" comments from users, and we have to specifically tell them now when we share for review "it's hidden. Close this panel".
The search function should always be visible when someone presses CMD+F.

selection tool & printing
Canon Printer support team helps you with the latest Canon printer driver and software packages for devices troubleshooting and answers.
The Canon support is divided into two major areas. On the one hand, you will find the customer service for private users and the so-called consumer products; on the other hand there is the support for business solutions. As a private user, you have a variety of ways to contact Canon, should you have questions about your printer.

Direct selection tool selects everything - in 90 percent of the cases is unusable
The direct selection tool in inDesign and Illustrator is almost unusable due to it is selecting everything it touches.
It would be much better to have an option to select the points of the currently active object. I have lots of stacked objects, I want to work with one of the objects, but as soon as I draw a rectangle over the desired points, EVERYTHING is selected everywhere. This makes the tool almost unusable, because it is unable to make a normal selection, it's too greedy.
At least in Illustrator there is a thing "isolation mode" but in inDesign the…1 vote -
Add full text markup options to document review (online version)
When sending a document for review through CC online, my reviewers have very limited edit/markup options (add comment, draw, add pin). Can you add all the text markup options available in the "Comment" tool of the desktop version of Acrobat Pro? For example, insert text, add note to replace text, strikethrough, callout boxes, etc. This is valuable to me because it is much easier to read/understand the edits if they're clear text edits, not just comments in a box. Thank you!

Feature Request: InPage-Style Urdu Nastaliq Kerning, Positioning, and Composition Engine for Adobe InDesign
Dear Adobe InDesign Team,
I would like to request major improvements to Urdu Nastaliq publishing support in Adobe InDesign.
Although InDesign supports right-to-left languages, it still lacks many professional Urdu composition features that are available in InPage and are essential for newspapers, magazines, books, and educational publishing.
The most important request is the introduction of an InPage-style Urdu Nastaliq Composition Engine.
Requested Features:
- InPage-style Urdu Kerning Engine
- Automatic contextual kerning between Urdu characters.
- Ligature-aware spacing adjustments.
- Removal of excessive gaps between words and letters.
-
Font-specific optimization for:

Add ability to define text sections
There could be a panel much like the conditional text panel, which allows you to define and name text ranges/sections, which should be stackable.
Thinking of HTML/XML/EPUB export of content, you are then able to feed the sections into div containers (<div class="sec1"><h1>Blabla</h1><p>blablablablabl</p>...</div>).
Nowadays such containers, which you must have according to the DTD/Schema or Website the content will be published after print publishing, have to be added by hand or with tricky XSLT programming.1 vote -
Collaborating on translating
Hi everyone! First I have to say I love all the new features that are slowly being integrated into InDesign. But in all my honesty I really miss one..
We now can enjoy Share for review which I really love on getting comments from my clients. But what I would love to have is a online tool where my colleagues can enter translation for the file I worked on. Now I export files to pdf and make them in to a word file but that workflow takes a lot of time.
I know tools like redokun.com but they are expensive…

Better Master Pages Concept
if a page is based on a mater page it seems likely that users will want to selectively turn on or off the visibility on a page to page basis.
currently in 13.1 x64 Indesign lets you choose none as an option on a page level of granularity
it would be better if the master page elements had their own layer in the page layers panel and each sub element that is on the master page had an eyeball icon to selectively turn on and off the visibility at the page being viewed.

Integrated controls for styles
I think it would be more intuitive to integrate styles in with the manual controls they go with, especially for character and paragraph styles, like so:
-slide the panel left to see the current settings and make manual changes, slide the panel right to switch to a new style.
-When you look at the manual controls, every element has an icon to show that it is matching a style, and another icon shows if an override is applied.
-click an override icon to remove that specific override1 vote -
Locking Tab Bar
It would be really helpful if the user had the ability to lock the tabs bar under the rulers in inDesign. It's an annoyance to have it floating and having to re-open it constantly. It would be nice to have the tabs panel located right underneath the ruler and then give the option to hide it or show it.
