  1. InDesign to create powerfull presentations

InDesign should compite with Keynote/powerpoint, or make it easier to export from indesign to those apps.

Animated stuff is actually a need to communicate. Most of us prefer InDesign to create presentations, beacuse you can get a much bigger detail of design, than in powerpoint or keynote.

The point is that the combination of InDesign/PDF give you some limits that can be done in keynote/PP. That is a pain point for me. As a solution,
    1. this combination should compite those apps with the same features
    2. Having an adobe software to presentations, but we still need a format…

  2. Interactive text field options that do not exist in InDesign, but do in Acrobat.

I make a ton of interactive PDFs in InDesign. Why can I not set things like character limits or centered text within InDesign so I can save the settings in the .indd file? Instead, I am forced to make these changes in Acrobat. This means that any changes to the .indd file require that I remake the PDF format changes in Acrobat. EVERY TIME!

  3. Chance to see export estimated file size in Indesign

I think it would be great if Indesign provided estimated size information before exporting to PDF or another format. Just like doing JPEG in Photoshop. Don't you think it's a good idea?

  5. Export from InDesign to Adobe Express with frames & keep the frames as frames not as shapes that can't be filled with photos or color.

Export documents containing frames from InDesign to Adobe Express & keep the frames as frames not converting them to shapes that cannot be filled with photos or color.
I'm working on a project with a document created in Adobe InDesign, which may have photos, fill colors, or be blank to fill in Adobe Express. When I export to Adobe Express, the frames convert into elements/shapes, preventing me from placing photos or changing the fill color. This limits my ability to design efficiently and uniformly. Recreating in Express or using new boxes and masking doesn't solve the issue, especially for…

  6. See Page Content Order and Structure Types (as in Acrobat) in InDesign

The InDesign/Acrobat accessible PDF workflow is a nightmare. Fixing reading order and tags in Acrobat is one particularly frustrating aspect of that nightmare.

It would be very helpful – and a major time-saver because of these issues in Acrobat – to be able to see Page Content Order and Structure Types, as displayed in Acrobat when the Reading Order tool is active, in InDesign so that issues can be resolved BEFORE export to interactive PDF.

A much more productive solution would be to have live updates in Acrobat as changes are made in InDesign. I'd be seriously impressed if…

In Indesign 2018 while printing, we can reduce/increase the width/Height of the page with "scale" option.

Please include this "scaling" option in "Export to PDF" in Indesign, to reduce/increase the page width/Height.

  8. Clear Alerts Crashes InDesign

I have an alert saying, "Version 4 ICC Profiles were converted to 2 ICC Profiles during PDF Export." –– and when I click "Clear Alerts," there is an instantaneous crash. Every time.

What could be causing this issue is that this is a new document created from an old one. I've gutted all the assets and created new stuff, but the old export registrar (or what-have-you) must still be embedded and is causing issues when I try to clear that data. I don't know.

  9. Pages panel for book wiev

I want the pages panel to display the whole book. Sometimes it is very useful to see the transitions between chapters before exporting to PDF. Double click a page and it opens the file.

  10. set individual pages as non-numbered in books

I use the book feature for many, if not most of the documents that I create. Each individual InDesign document included within the book is a new chapter. Because the majority of my clients request printed copies of the documents I create, I usually create customized tab pages that precede each chapter, so that the end user can easily find a specific section. These tabs are printed on card stock instead of the standard bond paper that is used for the content of the document.

The majority of my documents require page numbers, and so I use the feature where…

  12. Merge Features of Share for Review into Publish Online

Looking at all of the different feature request posted for "Share for Review" I feel it would almost be better to just merge the "Share for Review" features into the "Publish Online" since it already has many of the requested features like setting PDF quality, being able to select the number of pages, print as spreads, ect... The only thing it is missing is the ability to make it invite only and the commenting features. That way instead of two tools there is one. Maybe it has an option that when selected it adds the "Review Features" and if not…

  13. List of all buttons in a file

We regularly have to create quite complex interactive PDFs with many buttons. It would be great to have a view like the Links panel that displays all of the buttons in a document, with where they go and which page they are on with a link to jump to that button (again like the Links panel).

  14. Ability to skip certain spot colours while export in ink manager

I often use artificial spot colors to mark some special post processes like UV-lacquering, embossing, etc. But I definitely don't need these colors on preview/revision versions of a document. Now I must export pdf and then remove those channels in Acrobat.
I'd be very happy to see the option "IGNORE" or "SKIP" in the ink manager for each (at least spot) ink.

  15. Add feature to Buttons and Forms

In the Text Field, if there could be an option for auto scalable type, which would automatically scale while writing in a interactive PDF. This would allow the writer to write without exceeding the set text field, which could later be printed instead of hidden when printed, when the scrollable option is selected. The current options are set, scrollable or set font size. It would create a more dynamic set text field.
Also a prompt description in the text field which disappears when writing.

  16. Animated InDesign icon in Apple Doc

When I print documents on a laser printer using the menu item "Print", the InDesign program icon in the Apple Doc is animated. You can see exactly what the progress is with an animated bar. It would be great if this animated progress bar could also be seen when exporting to PDF. Also as the sum of all background processes. THANK YOU!

  17. share for review improvement

Hi Adobe, share for review is an amazing feature. Three simple features I'm really missing

    • A button where my client can officialy approve the design
    • An option to show higher res pdf's
    • Copy paste possibility from the review in Indesign: as a designer you need to copy new given texts from clients. Now I have to type everything with the possibility of mistakes. Moreover, a lot of designers are more visually focussed and sometimes even dyslectic. A must have and simple feature in my eyes.

  18. Need to duplicate Type's Name in the Buttons and Forms - we need to to duplicate large number of these with the same Type Name

Often we need to to duplicate large number of Buttons and Forms and need Type Name duplicated. This is so when we generate interactive pdf file, these can be filled automatically with the same same. Please help.

  19. voice to text

Help us avoid glitches with voice to text directly in InCopy. Yes, we can type into InCopy, but for long documents and articles, all the better with voice to text, to save time, and effort from all the typing. We could read citations right in; read documents in, not have to convert them to Word for Place. Let's get free from Apple/Word conversions and cut/&/pastes, thus the resulting glitches. Wouldn't this doable feature (Apple offers Dictation for free with its package) make Adobe's publishing output even easier and faster to use, and more glitch free from Word? And save us…

  20. Hiding system fonts or warning about using them

Add system fonts in the unauthorized fonts of the preflight panel.
I work in the IT department of a press group; our users work on Mac, but we use a Windows InDesign Server solution to process PDF’s. Our users are warned that they should use only OTF fonts but some of them ignore these warnings.

The other solution would be to be able to hide system fonts in the font dropdown menu.
