Option for fly-out menus to open to the right.
Would it be possible to have an option for the fly-out menus to open to the right to keep the live page area fully visible? It's hard working on spreads in book interiors because any window open covers part of the text. If I have room to shift the spread over, InDesign automatically re-centers the spread when I turn to the next page. (Sample window was chosen in PNG because it's generic.)

Add the ability to color code window tabs and allow custom tab names that are not linked to the actual file name.
Description:
The current window tab design in InDesign can become cluttered, especially when working with multiple files that have long names. The tab size automatically adjusts to the length of the file name, which leads to a cluttered workspace, making it difficult to quickly locate and switch between files. I suggest two enhancements:The ability to color code window tabs, allowing users to visually differentiate between files at a glance.

PDF comments - Option to remove all resolved comments at once
Option to remove all resolved comments at once. An option to remove all resolved comments in the comment window would be very interesting, because indesign has a performance issue with too much comment.

Move both documents pages when in Split vertical mode
When comparing two documents in Split vertical window mode it would be handy for both documents to move to the next page at the same time rather than having to move one, then the other.

Ability to sort swatches by most recently used
I have to scroll down a lot to get to the swatches I'm creating, so it would help to be able to resize the window or sort by most recent to the top.

Make 'Preferences/Grids/Baseline grid' changes live
When using 'Preferences/Grids/Baseline grid' to set, or change, or modify the baseline grid, it would be really useful if the changes were visible live, rather than having to repeatedly open/close the dialogue window to see changes.

Application retain windown size and position
On open, have InDesign's application window return to the size and position it was in when the application was last closed. The way Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Dreamweaver, etc..., do when they are closed and then reopened.

Open location from 'Recent files' in explorer or bridge
I normally save my exports to somewhere very close to the INDD file. Would love to be able to open a bridge or explorer window to the location of the files listed in 'Recent files' (the home screen when nothing is open).

type colour fill under Properties > Appearances
Hi, I love the feature under Properties, that I can work on the colours, the shapes, etc in one window. However, I notice that text colour fill is missing. Can I request to have that added in there too?

Add a preference option to allow InDesign to give you PDF import options when you drag a PDF into an open InDesign window
When you drag a PDF into InDesign, it only loads the cursor with the first page of the PDF. In order to load multiple pages or specific pages of a PDF, you need to place the PDF and tick the box to show PDF import options.
Would be nice to have a preference to turn on so that when you drag in a multiple page PDF into an open ID window, it pops up those PDF import options dialogue box automatically. Of course, if it's just a single page PDF, it will just load the single page into the cursor.…

Integrate Optical Margin Alignment into Paragraph tab / Properties Panel
The Optical Margin Alignment sits as a standalone checkbox in the Story Window. It would make much more sense to have this in the Paragraph Widow, and in the Properties Panel. Hyphenation is a check box here, why not have the same thing for hanging punctuation / optical margin alignment?

Color Swatches Menu too small and not resizable
In InDesign CC 2019 the Color Swatches Menu is too small and not resizable, like in CS6. It was very useful to resize the menu so not to have to scroll in a small window through the many colors of some projects.

new document palette
The new layout palette window, starting new document, is very very slow to pen, and, while open, is very difficult to read. Older version are the best (version Cs6 for example) very simple and fast to open. Please return to older release!!!

Scale pages thumbnail size by width of of panel
Sometimes I need to reference other pages in the doc I'm working on. It would be helpful if the pages panel adjusted the size of the thumbnail based on the width of the window. The Panel Options sizes don't offer enough versatility.

table of content popup
the table of content popup UI needs updating. When working on long docs with many paragraph styles, and many levels of TOC. There's a lot of scrolling involved.
Let us resize the window so we can see more paragraph styles / TOC levels at once.
Or even just copy word's interface, although not great, but it a lot more useable.

Ability to completely disable start screens in AI, INDD, PS, Acrobat
Ability to completely turn off these start screens in AI, INDD, PS, Acrobat. When I close a document window, I expect to be able to see my desktop, not a wall I then have to close or hide. Old school workflow, never had a start screen, never needed one, it's not helpful imho, tho it may be to others, so we should be able to choose how we want it.

Non printing folder in pages
It would be very helpful if we could have a non printing folder in the pages window. This would allow pages to be switched in or out if multiple options for spreads are being used for a client. It would then be useful to have the ability to select a pages (or pages) and right click - swap pages with ones in the folder.....

Add a 'Change all buttons to Rollover State' on Buttons and Forms panel
When creating buttons with rollover states we currently have to manually click each button and select the rollover state on the panel window to adjust the formatting.
There is an option to reset back to Normal State – but not the reverse. Having this extra option would mean less time checking each individual button rollover format is correct and less chance of missing out buttons when changing formatting between normal and rollover states.

Scale the Find Font Box
Can you make the 'find font' window scaleable please! Across Indesign and Illustrator. It is so annoying to not be able to enlarge the missing fonts box to see all the fonts that are missing at once. Particularly when you have to jump between Suitcase.
If it could also indicate what foundry type of font is missing (Open type or Postscript) etc then that would mean NOT having to guess which type of font needs to open.
