When creating a QR Code in InDesign, Allow User to select VCARD Version
We are having issues with the QR Code generator due to its 2.1 version of the VCARD. Not all readers and phones interpret that correctly, resulting in parsing errors depending on the scanner software used. It would be useful to allow the user to select which VCARD standard they want to use, such as VCARD 2.1, 3.0, 4.0, etc. This will create the metadata to be compatible with more current versions of scanning software. Not sure if version 2.1 is deprecated, but it's not always supported anymore (e.g. RedLaser, etc) causing parsing issues on the address line with iOS as an example.

still can't use international characters (ex.:čšž) with current card QR. When will this get finally fixed?

2023 and ID still uses the old vcard 2.1 which is problematic on iOS...

InDesign 18.2.1 still has VCARD version 2.1. Anybody from Adobe listening here?

Yes. VCards in QR are very important to a lot of designers and we already pay so much for software, we shouldn't have to then pay for more software to do something necessary. This option needs a MAJOR update and overhaul.

My job requires me to create vCards which are scannable QRs. When I can only create the 2.1 version of the vCard, which has a history of causing parsing issues, it can make me look incompetent to my employer. I'd rather not have to use another program or even pay to have QR codes created for me...since I need to create over 250 at a time. Please update this feature soon. Thank you.

I'd like to see all Vcard fields as selectable options to include... need a fax number field for certain! Yes, it's outdated, but people still use it in many businesses.

Yes, at least Version 3.0 support would be great, that's the current format of macos Contacts export.

Same problem here. Select VCARD Version would be great and appreciated.
