Assign paragraph style depending on odd/even page
It would be nice to assign a paragraph style automatically depending on the “value” of a odd or even page? So you can for example make some styles have more margin at the right or left side, depending on odd or even.
Of course you can apply this with different paragraph style, but when a new page appears in the middle of a large document it would be very nice if this can go automatically.

commentedFor me a minimum (already useful) addition would be to have "inside" and "outside" margins. Inside margins would be added to the right margin on even pages and to the left margin of odd pages (and vice versa for outside margins). That already would allow for some neat tricks. But having a full range naturally would be much cooler. I just imagine that the UI is non-trivial for switching between definitions for one style depending on whether you are on an odd or even page (because you basically need to be able to switch within the context of a single definition).

commentedThis would be a terrific feature. Also the Columns capability Grant mentioned.

commentedThat would be perfect. Is this still not possible in InDesign?

commenteddefinitely. imagine paragraph borders that are on the outside of the paragraph, rather than on the left or right.

commentedI would also recommend that this be extended to columns.
