I see this has been around for almost 2 years.
It would really be a great feature/ability.
Here's hoping it gets some attention.Phantom Steve supported this idea ·

I like this - but how do you prevent the application of conflicting Character Styles ?
For example - how do you prevent the user applying a CS for Condensed Bold and a CS for Extended Bold at the same time ? -

The ability to find colors in documents in now available in InDesign’s latest release 16.0.
It can be found in a new tab of Find/Change dialog – Color.

Hello All,
Kindly provide more information about this ask. How do you plan to use the Action Panel in InDesign? Do you want it to work exactly like that in Photoshop? What are the most important actions/operations that you want to record?
Thanks
Abhinav Agarwal

Most of these requests can be achieved in InDesign as it is — without an actions panel.
Sorry, correction — for repeating and running FIND/CHANGE requests one after another you can get third-party add-ins or scripts to create multiple changes.
It would be nice if ID included a panel (similar to Multi-Find/Change — a third party add-in) to allow us to run GREP and TEXT queries one after another as a batch.
That's maybe what this request should be asking for. -

That was stupid - although careless is probably a better word ;o)An error occurred while saving the comment Phantom Steve commented
Double-clicking the .vbs file on my iMac opens Text Wrangler.
Is there any other way to install ?Phantom Steve supported this idea ·

Hi Abhinav, why is this taking so long to fix?
It was a silly modification to begin with, but now it's a major user problem.
I'm not sure who comes up with these plainly ridiculous updates.
Can you not release a patch to address this one critical issue in a hurry ?
It's months now - and still we all sit with the problem. I haven't come across one person who thought this was a good idea.An error occurred while saving the comment Phantom Steve commented
Ravi - this needs a more urgent review. It needs a patch to offer the ability to permanently disable it.
It's a massive problem for print workflows.
Please urgently attend to it and have a patch released. An error occurred while saving the comment Phantom Steve commented
Could we get a fix for this asap please ?
It's affecting me a few times a day - and it seems like I'm not the only one.
It should be viewed as a critical failure requiring immediate action. An error occurred while saving the comment Phantom Steve commented
Definitely needs to be OFF by Default.
No question.
Or at least a preference for all documents.
I have never needed the feature and probably never will - now it's just adding extra steps and messing with my otherwise smooth workflow.
Terrible waste of time.Phantom Steve supported this idea ·

I have the same issues.
Please fix this urgently — this is supposed to be a working feature — now I have a 350-page document that I must struggle with.
Another issue is that if I save a Book under a new name, all the documents in the "new" book no longer link to their comments. This seems bizarre as the actual INDD documents have not changed — only the name of the book.
