   keep the option to remove the share button as long as it not working.
   It is the 4th major update it it still does not work at all!!!!!

3. InDesigns gives me random stuff when clicking on an option

   Recently, I'm in for a surprise when trying to use InDesign. I click on a certain option, and something random pops up, for example while typing this, I'm clicking on "Window > Pages", I'm getting redirected to Adobe website to buy InDesign (note, I already bought the license). Clicking again, redirected to another InDesign file, clicking another time, now I get my Table Style, basically I get everything except the Pages.

   It's always a surprise what I get and I don't know how to get rid of this issue once and for all. This is the case for every option. Sometimes something random happens, something nothing happens. All my tools seems to work normally, so there's that.

   This is the third time that it happened to me. Closing and reopening Indesign seems to work, although that's not really something that I want to do all the time, but it's necessary since this pretty much breaks the whole program.
   I don't know what causes this, leaving InDesign open for the night, maybe? I have no clue.

   I was working on some stuff for work yesterday, the InDesign files are stored on a server. However when going home, I didn't close the InDesign files, but I did get disconnected from the server, now I'm back at work connected with the server, InDesign still open. Not sure if this is relevant, I honestly wouldn't know why InDesign is acting so weird. If I had to give a timestamp on it, I would say it first happened a month ago? Might be little more or less.

   I've inserted a screenrecording. Sometimes nothing happens, sometimes I get something random (which seems to be most of the case from my experience).

5. Converting 2018 to 2017

   Most times when trying to open indd 2018 files from indd 2017, it gives the option to convert. Then says unable to convert because I'm not signed in when in fact...I am.

6. Buttons and Forms

   I am using InDesign CC (13.0) on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6 using a MacBook Pro13 in, mid-2012.

   When The Buttons and Forms panel is docked with the other panels, it will usually refuse to expand. There does not seem to be a set pattern to it, but it seems more likely to expand correctly when working with TextFields than when working with Radio Buttons, Check Boxes, or Combo Boxes. I have seen it work correctly when working with a Text Field, then when I select a Radio Button, the Buttons and Forms panel will momentarily populate with the expected content before blanking out. But usually, it manifests by simply remaining collapsed, as though there is no content to show in that panel. When this happens, the panel menu options are also inactive.

   I eventually found that if I un-dock the panel, it does show the expected panel content.

7. Crash: "Keep Lines Together" (All) and disabled "Allow Split Footnotes" crashes InDesign if there are footnotes in a table

   100% reproducible on InDesign 15.0.2 on Windows 10.

   Starting point:
   1. I have a table containing some footnotes.
   2. Footnotes are not allowed to be split.
   3. The table (including footnotes) doesn't fit in the frame, so the last row jumps to the next frame.

   To crash InDesign:
   1. Place the text marker in the paragraph containing the table.
   2. Go to Keep Options.
   3. Check "Keep Lines Togheter" and "All Lines in Paragraph".

   Result: InDesign immediately hangs and you have to force quit.

   Please fix? Should be easy to track down the internal cause with the sample document and reliable reproduction. :)

11. Table Fault

    Please, please, resolve this.

    1. Indesign version 18 (2023)
    2. Issue: Create a two column text frame, or as many you want, and fill with text. For illustration purposes, create a table in the middle of the text frame. Span the table across both columns. Exaggerate the table spacing, to 25 pts before and after.
    3. Expected Result: The text in both columns of the text frame, in accordance with the table spacing, should be (i) equal on both sides of the two columns (ii) the text flow before the table should stop, and the text should continue again after the table. The table should span across all columns and have the option to span across in table options.
    4. Actual: The table spacing is applied on the left side of the text frame but not the right. The text in the right column overwrites the table.
    5. File is uploaded and a screenshot is uploaded.
    6. The workaround does work either. It places in text the middle of column A into column B. It is not right

12. "Reverse on Roll Off" doesn't work

    The feature "Reverse on Roll Off" does not appear to work.

    I have a simple button set up with an On Roll Over event to Play an Animation. The button works as intended.
    However, I have the "Reverse on Roll Off" checkbox ticked, presuming it would automatically apply a "Reverse" command to the Animation when the mouse cursor Rolls Off the button.

    It does not.

    Due to the nature of my button and animation design, setting up separate "On Roll Over" and "On Roll Off" Events on the same button is not an option, because the various combinations of the "Hide Before Animating" and "Hide After Animating" options would cause my animation to disappear completely depending on the button activity.

    Through Google Search I saw another reference to this bug from 2017, with Adobe's reply being that this is a "SWF only feature", and would be documented as such. However, in 2025, and publishing in the EPUB format, this feature should either work correctly or be removed as SWF is long since deprecated as a format.

13. system prompts glitch out and bug the program

    So, sometimes when I get a prompt, that might be rare I got it once for now but still wanted to share it, so when I get a prompt sometimes, like a system prompt from Indesign like those ones that say some warning and have an ok button(basically a dialog box) so when I get a dialog box it glitches out, disappears but stays active and not clicked and thus you can't do anything in the program because the dialog is in focus so naturally until you click it all the options in the program are greyed out(almost all) including saving the document and the only fix is to restart it and lose my document( or progress) which is not a problem because it only appears when you launch the program so there is no progress to lose but it's still annoying

14. Export or Save dialog box partially hangs if you go to another app's window.

    When exporting to PDF or saving, if you go to another app or Finder window while the dialog box is open, it partially hangs. For example, if you've called up the Export box then hop over to Finder to verify the name/location of the folder to which you want to export, then go back to ID to complete the export. Everything that is normally blue ("save" "export," the name of the file, etc.), turns gray. You can click on it but nothing happens. You have to either cancel and close/reopen the document, or if you have unsaved changes, it hangs in the loop of "save changes" but you cannot click on any of the options (save, cancel, don't save). If you are lucky, you can keep navigating/clicking to get out of the hung loop. If not, you have to do a Force Quit.

    System specs: Mac Sonoma 14.2.1, InDesign CC 19.1

    We have released InDesign 2025(v20.2.0.036) with many stability fixes. We recommend you upgrade to the latest version (if you’re not already using it) as it is more robust.

    If you are still facing this issue even after updating it, please send the following information to santalwa@adobe.com :

    • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when InDesign froze?
    • Video recording of the issue
    • Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If yes, could you provide us with the document(s)/asset(s)? Please package the entire document (To package the document, choose File → Package…)

15. InDesign 2022 (17.1) quick keys not working

    I recently updated to 2022 and now the cmd, option, shift keys no longer work for moving/dragging/resizing with constraints, etc. This is pretty major functionality.

16. InDesign 14.1

    Opening InDesign just by itself makes it freeze completely. Ball of death (on Mac) .
    It asks me if I want to start automatic recovery however I can't click on any of the options because the ball of death doesn't let me. The window with the recovery message consequently shows up on top of any other screen.

    I could make InDesign work ONCE yesterday after restarting and today it completely crashes again. Unfortunately it also means one of my files is now stuck 'open' which is untimely.
    This is the latest verstion both of InDesign as well as Mac OS.

    Aaand while at it my Adobe Creative Cloud is being an absolute nightmare logging me out a lot and when I enter my log in details and confirm it thinks about it and says - you have been logged out. Takes me several attempts to make it work.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    To identify the cause of this issue, we had started our investigation with the aim to resolve it. You might have also received email from us seeking more details to help in our investigation.

    We’ve concluded our investigation and came up with the finding : Either the issue is fixed in the latest release of InDesign or the issue was intermittent in nature at the time of its reporting and is not reproducible now.

    We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign 2020.0.1 (if you’re not already on it). It contains a lot of stability fixes.

17. Indesign 14.0.1 pixellated output in export to PDF

    Indesign 14.0.1
    Export to PDF using press quality job option does not produce high quality images the way the previous version used to do and all ends up pixellated at screen resolution only. The only way I know of producing press ready files is now to "package book for print", in which case, if you select your usual press ready PDF option, the conversion definitely works.

19. Indesign CC 2018 crashes while selecting the type tool or font option from type menu

    I am running Adobe InDesign CC 2018 13.0 x64. Whenever I open a new document and select the type tool, InDesign crashes. Same thing happens while clicking font option from type menu. Also, any premade INDD/INDT files aren't opening, it crashes every time. I have reinstalled several times, trashed preferences but of no use. I am running a Windows 10 version 1909 64 bit with OS built 18363.1801.

20. Inaccessible URL Link in preflight panel

    Inaccessible URL link option in Preflight panel is not working after implementing Adobe CC version. It was working in CS5 but in all CC version still CC 2019 is not working.

    For Digital purpose we need this option. I attached screen shot for your reference

    In the attached screen shot there is one dead link it shows red color in Hyperlink window, but the indesign preflight panel shows No Error. If its working properly mean it need to be show error
