1. Arrows not working in Effects Dialog Box / Drop Shadow section

   In InDesign 16.0.1 x64 in the Drop Shadow section of the Effects Dialog Box, there are some values where the arrows are not working. They are 1) Distance, 2) X Offset, 3) Y Offset and 4) Size (marked on the attached file).
   These values should change(increase/decrease) either by pressing the arrows on the keyboard or the little arrows to the left of the value. This isn't happening in the latest version of InDesign. I looked at other effects sectios and the arrows seem to work everywhere else.

3. Drop Cap/Nested Style Broken in InDesign CC 2019

   Since upgrading to InDesign CC 2019, when I edit a paragraph that has a nested style applied to the first line, the entire paragraph takes on the nested style. The paragraph behaves normally until I edit it. Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly, the behavior is inconsistent. If I copy and paste the text into a new text box, the behavior does not occur, but if I link the existing text to that new box, it continues to happen.

   Thank you for your patience all this while.
   This issue is now fixed in the latest update (Id 14.0.1) of InDesign CC.
   If you are unable to see the update notification yet, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.

   Once the update button is shown against InDesign CC, click on the button to update your InDesign to Id 14.0.1 for the fix of the issue.
   Do let us know in the comments, if you face any problem with the new update.

4. updating a placed multipage pdf

   Hello,
   When a multipage pdf is placed in InDesign, and an update of the pdf is needed, it is possible to do 'update link' in the links panel. But when 'show import options' is ON (in the 'place' window), all of the placed pages of the pdf will be replaced by page 1 of the updated pdf.
   For my opinion, if you want to update the instances of a placed pdf, the responsive pages have to be updated. At least the option must be accessible when updating the link.

5. Icon not showing in Windows File Explorer

   InDesign v20.3 shows blank square in Windows File Explorer, instead of INDD Icon. Opens as expected in InDesign 2025.

   I have already done icon cache rebuild, repair install, and reset file associations.

   BTW The reason why it's important: InDesign icon isn't just cosmetic. It’s a visual anchor that helps you quickly pick .indd files out from folders full of images, PDFs, and links. Losing that icon seriously hurts workflow — especially in design-heavy environments with lots of asset types.

6. Opening a menu item such as preferences sets of the "error" sound in windows until the item is closed

   When I open a menu item such as Print or Preferences or Export, windows begins making the "error" sound as if you clicked in an inappropriate spot. The sound continues until I close whatever menu item I opened. This only started with the update to InDesign 2023.

7. Locked to dell canvas screen, can't move to other screens

   On a multiscreen system, when InDesign starts up on the Dell Canvas drawing tablet screen, the window can't be moved to any other screen in the system. If the Dell Canvas is turned off then on, InDesign automatically moves to another screen. At that point, the window can be moved to any other screen in the system. However, if you move it totally onto the Canvas screen, it will be pinned to that screen, unable to move back to the other screens.

   InDesign 15.01 x64. Dell Canvas screen is the primary screen for windows. Other monitors are 32" 4k+ monitor and 28" 4k monitor. Adobe Acrobat Pro DC does not have this problem so this is an InDesign problem.

8. Default underline position misinterprets font’s specification

   InDesign interprets the underline position as the center of the line (from which the "thickness" extends outward), whereas the OpenType spec calls for it to be the top of the line (from which the thickness extends downward). This causes inconsistencies with other application’s interpretation of the same font’s metadata.

9. Don't provide the GPU Performance menu for Windows

   It's outrageous that a giant corporation doesn't have support to GPU Performance for windows, when we sign the creative cloud plan doesn't shows that works differently in each operational system. Please, develop this functionality as soon as possible!!

10. Relink missing image - InDesign shows wrong file name

    If an image (a link) is missing in the InDesign document, then there is a red circle with a white question mark on the image in the document and on the link in the Links panel. When I double click on the red circle in the Links panel, a file explorer window opens, and that window shows the right image file name in the "File name" text field. But if I double click the red circle that is on the image inside the InDesign document, then the file explorer shows the wrong file name. It shows the name of the file I relinked the time before.

11. Workspace not loading correctly

    I use multiple screens on my Mac running 10.13.6 OS.
    I continually loose one of my palette sets from view. When I load my custom workplace the character \ paragraph / etc appear as I have saved them, but this randomly disappears - if I go to window and select character the spinning wheel tales 10 - 15 seconds to load up the pallet again and all is Ok for a while, then it disappears again - Tried saving a new workspace many times but always same thin happens - this is only happening after the last update.
    Running ID 14.0

12. [InCopy] is very slow with some projects, even on a very fast Computer

    We often see a pretty significant drop in performance in InCopy for no apparent reason. This seems to occur on random Projects. As far as i could test there was no correlation with the number of InCopy Files or the complexity of the layout.

13. Drag-and-Drop text editing in Layout view problems

    I was working on InDesign layout with Word text with some text originally in Arabic - with some numbers (dates) only for a reason I cannot understand, but it was a text about oriental philosophy... I discovered that my body text paragraph style (for a strange reason) used Adobe Worlld-Ready Single-Line Composer (it was not my choice!). That selection made the one letter Drag-and-Drop editor in the Layout view not work correctly. When I changed the composer to a simple paragraph composer everything is OK again...
    Made an experiment - on Latin-based text with World-Redy composer one cannot use Drag-andDrop edit on one letter. But change the composer and all is well again...

14. endnote

    There appears to be a bug in the endnote linking when exported to PDF from InDesign. I'm running InDesign 13.0.1 x64 (Windows).

    When I export an InDesign document as a PDF, endnote linking (from the reference to the text and v.v.) is incorrect.

    Create a document with multiple sections (e.g. 1st section with 9 pages, 2nd section with 125 pages). Endnotes in second section will link nine pages too early (e.g., if you have an endnote on page 122, clicking on the endnote in the PDF will link to page 113.

15. indd 2022 - black font seperation incorrect in pdf export with some settings

    after the update to indd 2022 (which some idiot client editor did in the middle of a magazine before saving and thus up-versioning half the files) I have problems with pdf export. Since acrobat/distiller seems not to have been updated at the same time, I assume the problem is with indd.

    When exporting for print, indd exports black print as rich black - regardless of the indd settings - when the export to pdf settings /output / convert to destination (profile) is set.
    If I export with / convert to destination (preserve numbers) then black is exported correctly. This is obviously bunk.
    thw workaround (half a day to find this) is to export with convert to destination (preserve numbers). Caveat all images needed to be converted manually before export, as a specific output profile was necessary.

    needless to say everything worked as expected before the 'update'.

    Seperation is determined with Acrobat CC preflight ink separations.

    I can reproduce the error with a new document, with text cmyk 0 0 0 100 /adobe preset output all blacks accurately /, exported to pdf converted to ISO coated.
    With "preserve numbers" the separations in Acrobat are correct, without preserve numbers rich black is exported.

    In Indesign, the fx effects on text is not available. It does not com up as an option, and when I find it under Window, it is not available to use.
    I have tried Essentials and Typography and other working space without better results.

17. Indesign - main navigation menu glitch

    When I hover my mouse over any of the main nav items (file or edit or layout etc.). and click the menu does not appear. When I click a second time it appears but does not allow me to browse down to select any items - them menu items disappear as soon as I move my mouse. This happens on tool menu items too such as the links window menu. It doesn't do it all the time, but say 1 in 4 times I open indesign. Super frustrating - any one else have this bug/ issue?

18. PDF comments importation Issue (wrong position)

    1. Indesign 16.1 Windows 10
    2. Create a text with no stroke, duplicate it and add a stroke. Export a pdf, insert comments in adobe acrobat, the import the pdf comments in Indesign.
    3. The PDF comments should be imported a their position.
    4. The PDF comments are not imported on their position on the text with a stroke.

    I have an issue when I import PDF comments :
    The issue is that comments are displaced and not aligned at their correct location in the Indd project doc that make the PDF.

    I spent some times on this, and found the reason :
    If your text has a stroke, then the comments wil be displaced.
    If your text has no stroke, no issue.

    On the pic attached, you can see on the left, the inserted comment on the PDF, and on the right, The imported comments on Indesign.

19. Can't rename object in 2022

    Same issue like here, but posting this again to get a response to this, because the response below that post is a big joke. The admin assumes that the bug report is too stupid to rename an object. But the gif clearly shows that 1. the admin hat the window arranged differently and 2. in the gif with the bug you see the rename window flickering.

    I did the work adobe should do and tested it a bit.

    The result is different depending on if the windows is floating, docked or expanded. Float and expand works, dock not.

    I have this issue on the latest ID version 17.0.1 on multiple macs.
    M1 Mac with Big Sur
    Intel Mac with Catalina
    Intel Mac with Big Sur

    So if it's still not clear: You can't rename an object (although you can rename layers) when the layers panel is docked to the side. The rename "box" appears for a short time and instantly disappears again. This does not happen when the window is expanded or floating!

20. saving

    When I create a new document and go to save, I do not get a save window. I have to close out the app and go back in for it to work. Sometimes I have to close out and go back in multiple times.
