  1. Actual size (with web artboards) does not shows the actual pixels sizes

    Issue to visualise correctly the zoom in indesign

    with 2 identical artboards for web (300x300px) one in indesign and one in photoshop, click on 'view' 'actual size'.. the difference is huge

    Seems photoshop scaling looks ok

    and indesign is way bigger than the real size in Pixels

  2. Small implied movement when selecting elements

    I have an issue with the latest versions of InDesign.
    Whenever I select any element/object/text/images etc inside my Page or any pages, there is a delay in the selection with a tiny registered displacement of the selected object by one or 2 pixels.

    My only solution to fix it is to Cmd+z to invert the latest action that resulted from it. I didn't have that issue a month ago and it is very disruptive, could say that it is anti-productive. I am running Indesign on the latest version of Mac OS sonoma on a M1 max machine. The problem occurs…

  3. pdf compare

    Hi Team,

    While performing Textual compare in Acrobat DC if there is any changes in optinal hypen in a Paragraph it not shown in the compare report both Textual and Visual.

    But if we perform the same test in Acrobat 7 optional hypen changes show perfectly. We are ready to use Acrobat DC but becuase of this issue we are still using Acrobat 7. We mentioned this compare issue number of times but no action was taken so far.

  4. InDesign crashes while accessing printer setup or printing on Windows

    I've had no issues in writing documents, but printing an existing one crashed InDesign2018. A crash report was automatically generated and sent to you &/ or Apple.

    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2021(v16.0.0.77). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

  5. Online Publishing not taking all images

    Using both InDesign 19 and 18.5, publishing online no longer functions on a Mac running Sonoma 14.1. This issue started days ago. I’ve Packaged projects, saved them locally, and confirmed all images are linked but when I publish them, some images do not tranfer. And it’s random. If I publish over and over again, an image that didnt appear before may make it through. This is a terrible bug for me personally as I rely on digital publishing and sharing interactive presentations for my business.

  6. Adobe Indesign Ruler - Corrupt Display

    Adobe Indesign Ruler - Corrupt Display.
    When opening a document and mousing thru the document the display of the ruler starts to add "marks" in the measurements.
    We have been able to reproduce this in versions 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
    We have gone and used the rename "enUS" method and it only works temporarily.
    The issue is sporadic and can happen on new documents or old.
    Also sporadic through out the versions as well - same document can happen on one version and not another version.

  7. InDesign 14.0.2 constant spinning beachball - especially on text related commands

    Working in InDesign 14.0.2 on High Sierra, (single computer home network) the programme is exceptionally slow - taking about 10 seconds (of beachballing) to select a line of copy. Clicking between objects takes 5-10 seconds also. This is happening on my Mac Book Pro and iMac, both running High Sierra - all other programmes are working normally. I have tried trashing my preferences and uninstalling etc, but nothing has improved the lagging issue. I have had to revert to the 2018 version to get my work done.

  8. Recent files panel is unreadable

    InDesign Version: 16.1

    Steps to reproduce the issues: Open InDesign

    Expected result: Text of recent files would be readable and not stacking text on top of itself

    Actual result: Text stacks on itself and is completely unreadable.

  9. Paragraph style not applying when selecting the wanted style

    Indesign version 20.0.1

    When highlighting the desired text that I wish to apply the paragraph style to and clicking on the preferred paragraph style. The click animation attempts to very briefly 'grab' the style rather than select it. This works on any paragraph style I try.

    I have a similar issue when selecting a colour swatch to apply, the only option is to grab and drag the desired swatch to where it is needed.

    I also cannot change the font when selecting the text I wish to change and selecting a font from the drop down.

  10. spelling

    I am using InDesign 15.0.1 with the English (UK) dictionary. The spell check doesn't work at all - the dynamic spelling feature underlines every single word. I finally upgraded to CC from CS6 because InDesign v8.0 had started doing the same thing, but it still has the same issue.

  11. Ventura Indesign file not found

    I have a number of files when I double click them to open, I get an error saying "<file name> not found. If I make a copy of the file, I can then open it. I don't know it that's an InDesign issue or a Ventura issue.

    I use CC 2017, but of course have seen this issue in other versions, Mac, and PC. When typing in a search term, like search term, the letters I type in show up backward, if at all, so mret chraes... which of course makes searching impossible. I can close the program, close the dialog box, and it still keeps coming up. It's so frustrating when you have 1000s of pages and need to find multiple words in between to keep opening/closing/shutting down

  13. Splitting large documents using Extendscript Toolkit script hangs InDesign v.14 for several minutes

    Running script (extendscript) that takes a large document and splits it into individual documents based on their section hangs for several minutes before completing task in InDesign v14. Prevous version (v13) of InDesign did not have this hanging issue and complete task quickly. Attached is the script (and referenced script) used.

  14. Separations Preview is not displaying any values

    EDIT:
    I appear to have resolved the issue by uninstalling some Dell software that was pre-installed on my workstation. Why or how that would interfere with InDesign I have no idea but colour this resolved.

    I'm having an issue with the Separations Preview panel not showing any percentage values, it's just blank. I think it started after updating from 20.3 to 20.3.1; but I installed versions back to 19.0 to test and it strangely seems to be effecting those versions too.

    Widows 11, all updates current.

  15. Export as InDesignMarkup (IDML) ignores the color profile

    When exporting an indd-file as an IDML-file we've experienced a problem. In the original file there's an embeded a specific color profile (ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)).
    If we check the exported idml file we found out that InDesign ignores the specific color profile and resets the profile to it's standard profile (U.S. Web Coated (SWOP)) - which is not the desired profile and not suitable for our european print environment.

    That was the reason of some color problems with some printing stores or agencys we're working with in the past.

  16. SmartStream crash

    We are experiencing an issue where InDesign v21 will crash while we are using HP SmartStream Designer. This occurs when we start creating an imposed job, and will fail at different times with our templates. We notice this occurs predominately with the 6x9 postcard template.

    This happens often enough to where we are hesitant to upgrade to the latest version of InDesign, as we are not having this issue with v19. We have tried remaking the template file, which did not fix the issue. Is this a known bug? What steps would be best for us to try next?

  17. Type is shifting inside text box upon moving.

    I've been noticing when I use the type tool, I can fill it as normal. Style things with the appropriate fonts/colors but should I move the box it self to a new location the spacing above the font will grow or shrink and shift everything inside that text box. It almost acts like it is adjusting like it has text flow around an image feature selected. Sometimes remove all the styles then re-applying them will fix it but this is issue had been annoying me for maybe the past 2 months.

  18. Publish online feature not working after deactivating renewal of creative cloud plan

    After I deactivated the renewal of my annual plan (long before the date of renewal), I experienced an issue. When I try to publish from InDesign, it says "error #315: this service is unavailable...". On the My Plans section of the website it says I should still have access to this service until my plan expires. I contacted customer support and they basically told me they can't do anything. I assume this is a bug as the website says I do have access to it, but the app wont let me use it.

  19. Variable Font: top of "U" wiggles as you change weight (FreeType bug)

    1. Download and unzip https://www.dropbox.com/s/3b6k0izkm5ma3dy/200719-AdobeVFBug.zip?dl=1

    2. Install the font from font/DaikonVF-mini.ttf

    3. Run InDesign 15.1.1

    4. Type "AU" and choose the Daikon VF font

    5. Click the Variable Font button and move the weight slider between the extreme locations. Observe how the top of "U" "wiggles" (jumps up and down). This is shown in videos/DaikonVF-InDesign-15.1.1.mp4

    6. The same problem occurs in Illustrator 24.2.1 and I have logged it at https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/40945024-variable-font-bug-wiggling-top-of-u

    7. The same problem occurs in DTL OTmaster 7.9 and in FontView 2019 (an open source app built from https://github.com/googlefonts/fontview ) — both apps use older versions of the FreeType library.

  20. CC 2020 - Text tool switches back to previous tool, deselects itself

    Indesign 15.1.2 user here.

    Abnormally while im working in big sized files in indesign, whenever i press my Type Tool shortcut (which is "T") cursor goes to Type tool for a second then goes back to usally selection tool.

    When i go and choose the Type tool from left side bar it works.

    Im using windows pro 10. Re installed the program for few times.
    Saw other threads opened for the same issue but looks like you guys closed time bc it is fixed. But it is not! And it is incredibely time consuming!
