Inconsistent Text Wrap across two column layout
Text wrap is applied inconsistently from column to column, i.e. text will offset by uneven amounts in adjacent columns. This happens for all types of Text Wrap except for the Jump Wrap, which does not misalign the top two lines of text!
The only fix I could manage was to Force All Lines to the Baseline Grid, and redraw the bottom Text Wrap line unevenly for the two columns. The images attached show first the problem and second the fix.
I believe this started happening with the introduction of CC versions, but I'm not 100% sure of that timing.11 votesThanks for reporting.

Placed ICML files do not appear in the Assignments panel
Placed InCopy ICML files should appear in the Assignments panel. They do not. This is under InDesign CC2018.1.
The only step needed to reproduce this is to create an InCopy file. Save it and then place in InDesign.

World-Ready composer breaks hyperlinks for Publish Online
When the WR composer is applied to text, it breaks hyperlinks when the document is published via Publish Online. The hyperlinks work fine when the document is sent to PDF. The hyperlinks work fine when the WR composer is changed to the Adobe Paragraph Composer.

Dotted line looks pixelated in pdf
When I export a Indesign file to pdf that has lines in it with japanese dot style, the dots appear pixelated in the pdf. But only the dots on a straight line, the dots in the rounded corner (see attached screenshots) look good, as do the dots on a circle line.
When I print the file they look good. But as I need to show this document on screen as well it has to look good on screen too.
Could you please fix this?

[ID-4256710]InDesign 20.0 is unable to open INDD files without any error or alert
InDesign 20.0 can't open some files - they start to open and then the process is just somehow cancels and nothing happens. No error - you can try again but the files doesn't open.
I have macOS 15.1 on a 2.4GHz 8-core Intel Core i9 macBook Pro
10 votesHi,
We are aware of one scenario where the issue is reproducible. The workaround resolves the known scenario as stated below:
- Open the document in InDesign 19.5.
- Export it to IDML.
- Open the IDML in InDesign 20.0.
Please share the document with us at sharewithID@adobe.com.

BUG: Small Caps not applied correctly to Variable Text with World-ready Composer
Using Adobe Indesign 19.3 on MacOS 14.4, Apple M1.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Make new document.
2. Define a text variable "Test" with custom text "Handgloves".
3. Insert variable in text frame.
4. Set the composer for that paragraph to "World-ready..."
5. Set the paragraph in Small Caps
6. Try different fonts.Expected result: small caps.
Actual Result: only first two characters are changed to small caps. Typing characters after the variable placeholder changes how many characters are changed to small caps. See attached video.
Workaround is to change the paragraph to a non World-ready composer.

Pdf comments - Sticky notes freeze file
INDD 18.0 PDF comments has something chronically slow going on with the sticky notes. We have done some testing here and also confirmed by other in the forums https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/pdf-comments-sticky-notes-makes-document-extremly-slow/m-p/13368359#M503963
If you delete the sticky notes the file will work as expected. But if you have 1 sticky note on a page, any editing on that page is painfully slow!
WORKAROUND - action sticky notes outside of INDD then delete them and import the file. Not ideal but manageable until Adobe can fix this one.

Resizing table cell causes InDesign to crash
- Adobe InDesign 17.0 x64 (2022).
- Resize the single-cell table so that the content overflows.
- Content should disappear and overflow symbol should appear.
- InDesign crashes.
- Uservoice doesn't allow .idml attachments, so the document is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8ui8zrhk5ibm1kt/overflowCrash.idml?dl=0

publish online analytics
This failure to load is a disgrace. I need analytics to sell advertising. When is Adobe going to take its Publish Online program seriously?

Some text in tables is shifted to the right after the PDF export
After the PDF export, some texts in the table cells were shifted to the right in the PDF file. The texts are not correctly positioned one below the other. The values of the deviations from the correct position are up to 0.5 point, but different.
I tested it in InDesign CC 2018, 2020 and 2021.
The problem occurs if "Create Tagged PDF" is not activated in the PDF export options and metric kerning is selected. I've tried different fonts.
The PDF file with the suffix "High Quality Print" was created with the job options "High Quality Print" ("Create Tagged PDF"…10 votes -

Multiple Share for Review Issues
I work with a team of 6 designers and we are all experiencing regular and multiple different issues with Share for Review – we are all using the latest version 2021 and are needing to try multiple things each time with varied results to get Share for Review to work – these include:
1. Restarting Indesign
2. Logging and in about of Adobe CC
3. Trashing preferences
4. Saving a file CopyThs is extremely frustrating, wasting a lot of time and energy and money – I am sincerely hoping you are aware of all of these issues and are…

Background Tasks Panel - Missing Progress Bars
Since InDesign 15.1, the progress bars are missing from the Background Tasks panel. Luckily, the percentages are still there but the bars are needed for quick progress reference.
10 votesThe issue has been fixed in the latest release of InDesign – InDesign 2021. The fix was also available in the previous version of InDesign – InDesign 2020 (v 15.1.2).
Please update to these newer versions of InDesign to get the fix.—

page range for publishment in 'share for review' is set by last print/export job
When sharing for review, the published document can be limited to a certain page range, because it takes that setting from the last print/export job. The only workaround is to first reset that range in the print/export window. Then publish for review to see all of the pages.
Being able to select what pages to share (or not) would be a nice feature in the 'share for review' interface. This way, I would not have to make versions, separating artwork ready for review, and artwork that is not.
10 votesThe fix is now available in the latest InDesign update, 15.1.1
Please update to the latest version to get the fix.

InDesign opens with tiny window
For several recent versions of InDesign, and Windows, including the most recent of both (just updated InD yesterday, and this happened shortly after), I have on rare occasions had InD open as only a tiny box showing only the basic minimize/maximize/close buttons, and a window edge, positioned in the upper left corner. If I click on the maximize button, it goes to maximized, but then cannot grab outer edges to resize the box, and minimizes just goes back to almost nothing. If I then quit InD, USING FILE/QUIT, OR COMMAND-Q, then it will reopen OK. I think, maybe, this is…
