1. Application frame not re-aligning after screen change.

   Waking my MacBook after disconnecting from a secondary (and larger) screen, often leaves my Application frame in the previous size. And due to the fact that this formerly connected screen is much larger than my MacBook, it leaves the frame in a size and postion which makes it impossible to fetch, resize, or drag it to a hot area to force it to re-arrange properly.

   Resetting the workspace, or switching application frame off/on, doesn't help. I have to Quit/Restart InDesign to let it realign its frame to the new screen size.

   InDesign version 19.3, MacOS 12.6.2.

2. Right-to-left paragraph orientation causes problems

   Hello and thanks in advance to the respondents.
   For several months now I have been suffering from a very annoying problem in InDesign and I have not been able to find a solution.
   When I set the writing direction from right to left (using the edit menu - right to left), the arrow keys on the right and left keyboard stop responding as they should, and instead of each click the cursor moves one character to the right or left, clicking on them jumps the cursor to the beginning or end of the line.
   The problem only exists when I select the "Visual" option in the above menu.
   Of course, in my Adobe Creative settings, English is set to support Hebrew, and I also noticed that I am opening a text window of the Middle East type, and in the paragraph settings itself, the direction is set from right to left.

3. Documents not showing when changing screens.

   When disconnecting my MacBook Pro from my Apple Studio Display open documents are not showing on the laptop screen - only blank grey screen. I can mark its content but nothing but bounding boxes are visible. Have to shut down all documents and start all over.

4. creative cloud libraries bug

   Hi, in indesign creative cloud libraries is borked. In each library only the top level will show and only four items from that level, all folders within a library show as empty. True for all libraries. They all load fine in illustrator/photoshop etc.

   Latest version as of 27/03/2024. Windows 11.

   reinstalled, reset prefs etc. Not helping issue only present in indesign, seriously impeding work flow. please fix

5. current page marker font malfunction if 3 digits or more

   The third digit and beyond in the "current page number" marker is distorted in certain fonts, and almost appears to be an old style number (shifted down and squished), even when I set the font's Figure Style to "Proportional Lining" under Paragraph Style > OpenType Features > Figure Style. In fact, it also seems to do it in automated footnote reference numbers, where control of the Figure Style doesn’t seem to work either. However, when I just type out the number using the same style, it appears correct. This issue appears to be in Adobe InDesign 2024 (19.3), but when I got back to ID 2023 (18.5.2) the issue disappears.

   This is a HUGE issue because I am a book designer, and most of the books I design are go into 3 digit page numbers or more -- and if I can't control the look of the font, then it forces me to go back to ID 2023 to make it work. It doesn't appear to be an issue in all fonts, but for the ones I tested, it seems to be in ones that have Figure Style options under the OpenType options (such as Proportional vs. Tabular, Lining vs. Old Style, etc.)

   1. Version: Adobe InDesign 19.3 (v. Adobe InDesign 18.5.2)
   2. Steps to reproduce the issues: Create a document that is length of 100 pages or more. Add a "current page marker" on the parent page. (I made an example on pages 208-209 in the attached documents. Apply a paragraph style for a folio that has a font that has options. (I used “Adelle” from the Adobe Fonts library for my examples.) It seems like anything above 3 digits, the third digit and beyond are distorted or don’t seem to be the correct Figure Style.
   3. Expected result: I expect to be able to control the Figure Style of an OpenType font within the paragraph style and not have this distorted character on the third digit and beyond in automated numbering – both the current page marker and the automated footnote reference.
   4. Actual result: Distorted digits anything the third digit or beyond, even when the OpenType > Figure Style settings are changed.
   5. I have attached 2 test files and a screenshot, one from 2023 where everything appears normal and the other from 2024 (see pages 208-209 in both docs for an example of the difference).

   I don't seem to be able to upload my test InDesign files -- so if somebody could please help I can send them to you.

6. Exporting a page to an existing PDF file

   Hello,
   I've been using Indesign for over 20 years and I often come across the following problem: you're working on a large catalogue, you export it as a PDF and after proofreading, a page needs to be corrected. You apply the correction and export the whole catalogue again, overwriting the previous one, or (another method) you export just the corrected page and import it into the PDF using Acrobat tools.

   It might be interesting to be able to tell Indesign to export only the corrected page and to integrate it directly into the existing PDF in order to save time either exporting or manipulating the page with Acrobat.

   Elements from the library with the .svg file format are no longer supported in version 19.3. In Illustrator the assates still works.

11. Incorrect diacritic position for some letters when using bullets

    When using the latest version of Noto Sans Arabic (2.012), if bullets/numbering is enabled in InDesign for a line containing a word with a medial position jeem ج, the dot of the jeem gets out of place. If bullets/numbering are not used, then all is well. I submitted this as a bug on GitHub for the Noto Sans team, but they say it is an issue with InDesign and the layout engine. You can also see other issues on the GitHub issue at https://github.com/notofonts/arabic/issues/232.

    To reproduce:

    1. Create a text frame using the "ME Type Tool" in InDesign (for a right-to-left text frame).

    2. Paste وين نتجمع؟ in the text frame. Notice the dot of the letter jeem is proper, showing below the main part of the letter.

    3. Place the caret inside the text frame at the beginning of the phrase.

    4. In the "Bullets and Numbering" property section, click the "Numbered List" button to change the line of text to a numbered list.

    5. Notice that the dot for the jeem is no longer below the main part of the letter, but rather is now close to the baseline and barely visible.

13. critical display problems! please fix it!

    New version from 19.0–19.3 causes terrible display/view problems! See the attached screenshot (actions: opened an indd file, zoom in, zoom out...).
    Fix it please, it's unusable in this state!
    Older version 18.5.2 works normally on the same machine!

14. iMac M3 gets very hot and uses excessive CPU while working with InDesign 2024, fan is constantly running

    I am working on InDesign 2024 version with Apple iMac M3 processor, and as long as the InDesign window is open, even if I do not do anything, the iMac gets very hot and the fan is constantly running. This is not a normal situation at all.
    I'm reporting this to the Adobe team for information. I noticed that InDesign did not have this problem when I disconnected it from the internet. However, when the connection is lost, InDesign crashes after a while. You can see the CPU values it uses in the attached image.

16. Dialogue windows open at full screen, and will not scale down or move

    When I open, place, export or save a document, the dialogue window automatically goes to full screen and is not scalable or movable, even though I can select the border or the corner with the cursor (and see the cursor change to confirm I have the window border), it will not resize or move.

    Since upgrading to InDesign 2024, we've encountered a persistent issue where the Links Panel becomes overwhelmed with linked assets. This overflow makes the panel difficult, if not impossible, to use effectively.

    Problem Description:
    The issue manifests when working with documents that contain a large number of unique linked assets. Upon selecting an asset (e.g., an image) within a page, the Links Panel attempts to highlight the corresponding link. However, instead of functioning as expected, the panel becomes cluttered and overflows with the document's other links, severely hindering our ability to work efficiently.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    Ensure your document contains a significant amount of unique linked assets.
    Open the document and select any asset on the page.
    Observe the behaviour of the Links Panel as it tries (and fails) to highlight the selected link amidst a chaotic overflow of other links.
    Troubleshooting Attempts:

    Reinstalled InDesign 2024.
    Reset InDesign’s preferences to default.
    Switched from a custom workspace back to the default workspace.
    Despite these efforts, the problem persists. Attached is a screenshot illustrating the issue we're experiencing.
