Adobe Paragraph Composer interferes with spans and table
My system: MacOS 15.3.1, Indesign 20.1
I have found a combination of column spanning paragraphs, a normal paragraph with Adobe Multi-line composer, and a table, causes a very disruptive recompose fault.
Using my demo Indesign document, type characters in the magenta paragraph where indicated.
Expected result:
The character is added, with no dramatic text reflow.Actual result:

Bug: copying text set to French between documents changes language
Windows 11, Indesign 20.1
Problem description: I have six documents, two in German, two in English, two in French. In all six is a paragraph with the same name, but the language setting is according to the document language. Means, the style is set to French (for spelling checker) in the french documents. When copying text by copy & paste from one french document to the others, the language setting of that text in the target document changes to German. This doesn't happen when copying english text from an english document to the other english document, same with the german…1 vote -
Shift option drag crashes InDesign
I have used Shift Option Drag for a million years. Roughly a month ago it started crashing InDesign. I removed Plug-Ins, I uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign. I ran maleware, all good. App was up to date. How does that happen out of nowhere???????

Unable to move any layers with mouse
All layers are unable to move by clicking & dragging with mouse. When trying to drag, a red circle with a cross appears. Only way to move any layers is by nudging with keyboard. *All layers are unlocked

curser blink affecting whole screen
Not an idea, however when the curser blinks, it's affecting the whole screen - very subtle, but on larger monitors is extremely noticeable.

History panel logs issues
The history panel does not allow some actions to be undone. One is the act of stepping back several steps. As long as no new actions are done, you can step forward again, but as soon as you complete a new action, the inbetween steps disappear. The undo/redo history is also cleared; only new actions completed after that point can be undone. This is a problem because is makes it impossible to test various options and then quickly return to the original option, as I have often done in the past. Copying text frames results in pasted PDF
Copying text frames from older versions of InDesign (example 2022 to 2025 – v.20.1) results in a pdf frame, meaning the text is uneditable. The only workaround I have discovered is to copy the text itself, paste it into the new document, and reformat the frame. I believe the discussion posted here - https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/indesign-locking-text-frames-with-old-id-files/m-p/15147987 – is referring to the same issue.

“Change Case” option does not refresh when opening saved search
When a “Change Case” option is set on the GREP tab of the Find/Change dialog, it remains active until it is manually cleared or InDesign is restarted. This is a problem since it means that saved searches are producing unexpected results. Other options in the “change format” refresh as expected, so this appears to be a bug. It is especially problematic when running a chain of GREP searches because incorrect capitalization can result in numerous errors.1 vote -
Help Improve Adobe Products Screen causes InDesign to hang
So I have to force quit. Then when reopened the menus won't open, so I have to quit again before I can use it.
Imagine the attached image with a rotating beach ball on top.
Is there a way I can disable this screen before it comes up?

InDesign 2024 (Mac) crash on quit
Almost every time I quit InDesign 2024 (19.5.1), I get a crash report. I ve tried re-installing and deleted the preference files. No dice.

Cannot move spreads
InDesign has started glitching; not allowing me to shuffle pages, and whilst attempting to move objects – they jump un-aligned to the cursor.
I have tried simply re-starting the machine, and I have uninstalled and re-installed the program, but the issue is persisting. Do you know if there is something else that I could attempt to try and fix the issue please?

Something has broken in ExtendScript's Folder.prototype.create method on MacOS and Indesign 20.1.
To test yourself, save the following script to your disk, and run it in Indesign.

Cannot drag objects in second monitor
Ever since updating, I cannot drag objects with my mouse if I am displaying InDesign on my second monitor. On my laptop screen it's fine, but if I move the program to another display, I get the red "unable to move" circle. I checked my preferences, made sure all layers and objects were unlocked, restarted my computer, and still nothing was able to move if InDesign was being displayed in another monitor.

Error in cursor position when dragging items
Hello, InDesign is not letting me move objects (or any items at all) correctly. As soon as I click and drag anything, the position drasticaly changes to about 50px upper-right. Beyond annoying, this is getting in the way of my work. Besides moving objects on the page, I can't drag and drop between layers, or reorder pages easily. It does not happen when selecting text or dragging to create new objects.
Anyone know how to correct this? It started last week, out of the blue. I have read some similar issues on the forum, from Mac users, but I'm running…

There is a feature that I have been missing in InDesign for years, but which is/was realised in Adobe XD, for example: Live Gaussian Blur (see screenshot). There you could assign this to an object as a property: ‘Blur background’, set parameters and you're done! In InDesign, this can only be achieved by tedious workarounds ...

If the Paragraph Styles palette is on the secondary monitor, then can not possible to reorder styles names with drag up or down in the list.

Selection Tool Doesn't Allow Dragging to Move After Windows Update
Using InDesign 20.1 x64 on Windows 11. After the recent Windows security update (KB5051987), the Selection Tool no longer allows dragging to move elements on a second monitor. It could be related to the fact the monitors are not the same size and do not have the same UI scaling. It functions properly on my laptop screen but I normally work from my larger 2nd monitor and it is no longer functioning properly there. The Free Transform tool still works.

[ID-4259937][Document Specific] InDesign and InDesign Server go into infinite recompose
The attached IDML file is a minimized test case for an infinite recompose loop. To start the loop, open the document in an InDesign client and select the gray text frame and turn off its text wrap property. To stop the loop, select Undo or close the document.
The test case is taken from a real-world IDS incident where this loop monopolized the IDS process for several minutes until our watchdog killed it.
(Reproduced with Adobe Indesign CC 2025 v20.1.0.71 running on MacBook Pro M3 / macOS 15.2.)
