1. Cannot use bold version of Adobe Caslon Pro in version 16.0.1

   In the 2021 version of InDesign, the bold version of Adobe Caslon Pro does not work. It leaves a blank space, and if you click on the opentype box, it says "opentype properties are not applicable." The font itself is not the problem...I cannot reinstall the fonts because creative cloud tells me they are already there. Caslon and all its versions are also correctly installed in my windows fonts folder. I also cannot export to a PDF when I have the bold version of Caslon on a page. I CAN see, print, and use the bold font in older versions of InDesign. Something is wrong in 2021 InDesign and needs to be fixed.

2. Accessibility Alternate Text Issues in Acrobat

   The file is designed where certain graphic elements are grouped together to make editing easier for others. In this case, horizontal dividers are made from two basic rectangles and a text box, grouped together.

   Each rectangle shape is tagged as "horizontal divider" in the export options for accessibility. When I export to PDF and run the full accessibility check, I'm told that the group failed the "figures alternate text" test.

   I then apply alternate text to the group in the export options. I run the full accessibility check in Acrobat and I am told that everything inside the group failed the "nested alternate text" test.

   I remove the alternate text from the rectangles, export, run the full accessibility test, and I'm told the rectangles failed the "figures alternate text" test.

   The bug is that no matter how the file is set up, it can't pass the full accessibility test. If I include the alt text, I get an error that alt text is nested and that I need to remove the alt text. When I remove the alt text, I get an error saying that alt text is needed. I either get one error or the other.

   While this could be fixed in Acrobat if it were a one or two page document, these horizontal rules exist across hundreds of pages and there should be a way to set it up in InDesign so that they export with the correct alternate text applied to them so it passes the accessibility full check.

3. Won't allow me to create a new document. Acts like it will, but doesn't.

   Make it woirk. Have to open a document, save as, change all the details and then can make a new document.

6. [ID-4206781]Text wrapping has changed to before 2019 use textFrame based indent

   To place a graphicItem with text wrap, it is not an object-based indent like 2020, but a text frame-based indent before 2019.

   2 Steps to reproduce the issues
   1. Make TextFrame. To places graphicItem above the textFrame and set text wrap.
   2. The indent set in the textFrame does not take effect for the object for which wrap text is set like before 2019.

   Indent set in the textFrame does take effect for the object for which wrap text is set like 2020.

7. Index sorting in Book-document in Danish/Norwegian

   I'm using InDesign version 16.0. There is a problem with sorting alphabetically when using Danish/Norwegian with Book-function. This only happens from the second letter and on.

   The first letters in words sort correctly.

   Here's an example for the letter Ø, which should sort after Z and Æ:

   ‘Tørres’ is sorted before ‘Torstein’ (which means ø is here sorted under o). This only happens when sorting an index from two or more documents linked with the Book-function.

8. Location of link,indd & export files

   INDD CC on PC win10
   Working with local files and 2 LAN locations.
   1) Sick of Indd updating every week and forgetting file locations.
   2) the two options "Original Link folder" and "most recent Relink Folder" are meaningless.
   I would like to be able to drag a job folder from the network and work on it with Indesign first looking in that local folder for its links, link folder and fonts instead of the original job folder on the LAN.
   
   Why? - lets say I had an idea and want to test it without ruining the Main job. I make a local copy work with it, Decide that I like the result I can drop the folder on the network and tell it to overwrite the network files.
   EXCEPT only the local indd file is new all the work on the links will be overwritten with the original files - because it was still linking to the network - result all the new work is lost.

14. issues with video content being supported from Indd output to viewabiity and interface as pdfs in acrobat

    make it so pdf's can have view-ability and functioning controler when exported from Indd. This used to work but has gone away. If you are phasing out flash please post a replacement. We dont all use digital videos linked from the internet and dont always have an internet connection.

15. New Share tutorial animation loops continuously when opening ID, with no affordance to terminate.

    When opening the application, ID can dramatically improve the user experience and the opportunity to show new features (in this case, the new Share feature) by giving the user a choice to opt-into learning about a said new feature by presenting the user with a [yes | no | maybe later | never show again] dialog message.

    Currently, on a MacBook Pro running Catalina (10.15.7), ID 2021 immediately starts looping a tutorial animation within a fairly large overlay which appears to be intended to promote the new Share functionality. This all happens immediately when the rest of the UI is rendered onto the screen with the overlay sitting above the rest of the UI covering up about 50% of the available real estate. The looping is infinite and without any obvious mechanism or user affordance to hide the tutorial or close it. This happens on the first run of the newly updated app (2020 > 2021). I have not tried to see if it would do the same thing on a second and third run.

16. Can't access free templates

    If you create software, and have templates that are labeled free. There should be no reason why I need a adobe stock account to access FREE TEMPLATES!!

    If it requires said license, it should say, REQUIRES ADOBE STOCK LICENCE

    If you are going to offer a product and put a paywall subscription behind it, that you can't access. What is the point of paying for a product that you can't access FREE content or basic options to try out.

    Who ever designed that, needs to re-word it.

    As you can tell, not a happy client.

17. Images Blurry when PDFing from Book

    I'm working with catalog documents in an .indb file and when PDFing from the book, without any other files open, all of the images come out looking like they are unlinked.

    Images are all high resolution and linked in their individual files
    I am using press quality/X1A presets with no compression set
    Preflight shows no errors

    The only way to get clear images is to have every single INDD from the book open and THEN make the PDF, which, to me, defeats the purpose of the book functionality.

    I don't remember this being an issue in earlier versions but i hadn't used the book function since college so it's very possible it's always been this way and I've forgotten in the ten years that have transpired.

18. ID print postscript to network drive failed to create file.

    When using InDesign CC 2021 to print postscript file to a network drive. There is always no file created as the filesize is 0 byte. What's wrong with InDesign CC ? I don't have this problem with InDesign CS6.
