  2. pdf export

    • I have the latest and greatest just installed 2021 version of inDesign 16.0.1 x64 on Windows 10, i7 3.2Ghz with 16GB RAM
    • I have tried exporting to idml and saving again as I have seen suggested elswhere
    • I have tried restarting my computer, and inDesign many, many times.
    • everytime I try to export the file it gets most of the way through, then hangs on the same percentage everytime.
    • Background tasks shows an error / warning, but gives no clues as to what it is.
    • no matter how long I leave it (hours) it will not advance past the stuck…

  3. set default open folder

    Upgraded to ID 16.0.1x64 today on a Win 10 64 system. File Open, or File Save, both want to use "This PC > Documents" and not the original file folder. Didn't have this problem prior to the upgrade.

    How can I set the default file open folder?

  4. Option-Click and Drag

    InDesign 16.0.1. (and prior)

    I updated to Catalina OS on Mac. Option-Click no longer works as it should. It is supposed to straight duplicate one time. Now it is acting as a step and repeat and is creating 2 duplicates instead of one. Please help. I can't find how to fix this.

  5. Rotate effects same direction with page rotation

    When you need to rotate a page (180º) effects applied to a text frame aren't keeping the same viewable as it was originally set.

    i.e: If you have a text with a Drop shadow applied with an angle of 135º if you rotate the page 180º the effect applied is upside-down, not following the original X and Y position, it should be -45º to keep consistency, please see attached jpg

  7. Unwanted dark lines generated around PNG files on export

    Adobe Indesign 2021
    When I export designs using an imported PNG graphic, the finished PDF shows an unwanted dark line around the crop area of the PDF.
    This doesn't seem to happen with jpegs or ai files.

  9. Flipped text in PDF created from Canva

    When placing a PDF with certain stylized fonts, the text is being flipped and enlarged. Seems to be specific to Mac OS.

    PDF docs have been created in Canva. They appear correctly when opened in Adobe Acrobat Pro, both on Windows and Mac. They are being placed in InDesign, and at that time the text titles being flipped and enlarged. I am working from v. 16.0.1. This was not an issue in previous versions. When I use png docs instead, and place those, I have no issues. I have been an Indesign user for about 3 years.

  12. switching between documents in just upgraded (16.0.1) takes around one minute

    both documents are similar, 20 pages, Indesign has 1GB RAM occupied.

  13. Publish online doesn't work properly in chrome browser on new mobile devices (android)

    Hi there,

    We have published an interactive document with Indesign "publish online" feature. It works flawlessly in every browser, except in Chrome on some new mobiles phones with Android (not possible to go back or forward through pages or zoom). On the contrary, Interactivity and videos work properly.

    We have the last indesign version (2021. Creative suite)

    What's the problem?

  14. FindChangeByList not working

    1 The script stopped working. Doesn’t do anything.

    2 Please let the updater copy the FindChangeList.txt from the previous version. In most cases it’s part of a workflow that breaks with each update.

  15. Montserrat Font Constantly trying to load in InDesign

    Whenever I open an InDesign file the background task starts up and it is Montserrat Bold trying to load. This occurs no matter what file I have open and whether or not the file uses the font being loaded.

  16. InDesign task remains active when application is completely closed on Windows

    Steps to reproduce:

    • Currently running Windows 10 Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042
    • Indesign v16.0
    1. Open InDesign
    2. Open any file and make edits.
    3. Close application
    4. Click on InDesign from program list on Windows to reopen

    Problem: InDesign task remains active in task manager when application is fully closed, giving impression that application may either be slow or inaccessible next time the user select applications from their list of programs.

    Expected result: Once the user closes the program, the task appears terminated from task manager, and application can be started the next time user clicks on its icon from the list of applications.

  17. Publish Online roll over bug

    I'm using InDesign 2021 version 16.0.

    I seem to be running into an issue with the roll over effect in Publish Online. The issue seems sporadic, but once the bug happens, it doesn't fix itself.

    I've setup a timeline so that when you roll over the date, info will be visible. This works initially, but then when I try to go back to some dates that I've previously rolled over, the info does not show up. Expected result is to have the info shown when you roll over the date. Actual result shows that the button to trigger the roll…

  18. Copy and paste from InDesign 15.1.3 to InDesign 16.0

    When copy pasting from 1 version to the other, Objects (including Text Frames) are getting pasted as an embedded EPS without showing as so in the Links Panel.

    I am using online document sharing to retrieve comments directly into inDesign.
    Unfortunately, the name of the correctors are displayed but their comments are invisible (text crossed out, underlined or added text).
    A small blue wheel spins next to the filters icon.
    Moreover, since this document sharing online, InDesign crashes every open.

  20. InDesign 16.0.2 still does not allow making new folder under SaveAs dialog and Cmd+P also does not work

    Updated version of InDesign (16.0. and 16.0.2) does not allow making new folder when using Save As or Open dialog on MacOS Mojave. Also you can not use Cmd+P shortcut in the same dialog - this is very helpful shortcut that opens current folder in Finder. Adobe WHY are you bringing new bugs all the time for things that worked just great :(
