1. PDF Export causing font/item misalignment

   InDesign 16.2.1 x64
   There seems to be an issue caused by Exporting PDFs created by Steinberg Dorico. The expected result can be seen in the file:

   Hancock - Organ Album AJ - Toccata PDF from Dorico no issues

   look at measures 25 and 31 for comparision to

   Hancock - Organ Album AJ - Toccata PDF from inDesign issues

   there is a clear misalignment of stems with noteheads and tails. This only happens when you Export out of inDesign, the PDF created by Dorico is as it should be.
   Any idea why this is happening and can you do anything about it?

2. Scrolling loop

   I have a scrolling bug in the share for review feature. Even in a small file of 10 pages, when scrolling too quickly up or down. The scroll gets stuck in some kind of loop, only reloading the page seems to solve the problem. Tried on 2 different macbook pro's and an Imac running Big Sur and High Sierra.

   In the attached video, you first see me scrolling 'gently' which doesn't cause any problems, but after 'flicking' the mouse pad / magic mouse a few times it gets stuck in this loop.

4. Fonts not copying when packaging a file

   I've been having issues ever since the update of InDesign 16.4. The issues have been fonts copying over when packaging a file. It's on all computers MacBook (personal) and two iMacs (work). Projects have been different but have same issue. So far I've only gone the manual route to retrieve the fonts but main problem is still ongoing. The fonts aren't from type kit or have certain permission restraints. These are purely installed fonts that I've had zero issues in the past been using them for the past 2yrs and ever since the update they no longer copy over. So I'm not too certain as to why I keep having the packaging error of copying the fonts.

5. Stylistic Sets do not work alongside feature variations

   Hi there! There seems to be a bug when applying OpenType Stylistic Sets to fonts that have feature variations. This has occurred with multiple fonts produced by me and colleagues, so I have made a simplified test font that you can use to duplicate the issue.

   Version of Adobe InDesign: InDesign 16.2.1

   Steps to reproduce the issues:
   - select variable font with feature variation
   - use variable font slider or select named instance to apply feature variation

   Expected result: Alternate glyphs from Stylistic Sets are applied to font.

   Actual result:
   - Selecting alternates from tooltip does nothing
   - Applying stylistic set to selection does nothing
   - Contextual menu says “OpenType properties are not available” even though they are

   when anchored objects (such as column Text or line numbers) are anchored in a Text using the options "Paragraph border" and "paragraph Shading" the borders and Shades will "randomly" disappear, or new border-lines will appear (when more then one paragraphs are merged, the lines always appear between the different styles, even though they work fine again when the object is de-anchored). Sometimes the appearance doesn't change when an object is anchored, but when the anchored object is edited (for example, when the size of the anchored object is changed).

   This is reproducable on my Windows 10, using InDesign 15.1.4.
   Steps:
   - create a new document
   - create a paragraph styles using paragraph borders/ paragraph shading
   - create 1 or 2 more styles, based on the previously defined style
   - create an object-style using "benutzerdefiert" (individual?) - positioning
   - anchor 2 or 3 objects using this object-style in the shaded text/ the text with borders

   expected result:
   the paragraph border/ paragraph shading does not change, but looks just like I defined it to look

   actual result:
   - the appearance of the paragraph changes, and that also affects the PDF.

   The problem also sometimes appears when an object is anchored in a text using Paragraph border/ shading, when text anywhere else in the same story is edited.

10. Shift + Tab / Ctrl + Shift + Tab doesn't work properly with reordered Windows

    Shift + Tab usually switches to the next open window/project. with Ctrl is switches to previous window.
    That works so far.

    It doesn't work anymore though, as soon as you rearrange the order of the windows.

    Say you have project A, Project B, Project C open, but you move the window from Project C between A and B

    so now its: A, C, B

    if I now want to switch from C to B I would click Shift + Tab. But instead to the obvious next Tab "project B" it switches STILL to A.

    So Indesign constantly remembers the original order, no matter how you sort the tabs, which is kinda stupid. I think this should be fixed.

    For instance this works as it should in Illustrator already.
    Photoshop has the same Problem as Indesign.

12. Urdu fonts not working in InDesign 2021

    Tried various Urdu fonts in InDesign and only one seemed to work fine (Jameel Noori Nastaleeq). On others attempted, the glyphs were all over the place and it looked like some baseline shift might be required on some characters. In others something called 'missing glyph protection' kicked in and all the characters looked like they were piled on top of each other.

    The same fonts worked fine in MS Word (365) so I prepared two PDF files showing the same text in 5 different URDU fonts - one prepared from Word and the other from InDesign to illustrate the difference.

    I already had the MENA version of InDesign and with the help of Adobe Support I was able to install the Urdu Hunspell dictionary files. However, neither of these things helped. Adobe Support informed me it was a bug that should be reported.

    Hopefully it might be resolved soon?

13. nested style does not appear

    When creating a new Style using the Nested Styles dropdown, the new style does not appear in the Styles Panel. I need to remove a number of unused styles created using the Nested Styles dropdown method, but since they don't show up in the Styles Panel, there is no way to remove them.

15. Align to grid

    When you have a text box with multiple columns and paragraphs are set to align to grid + Align first line of text only, if text from one paragraph flows to the next column, that 'first' line of text will NOT align to the grid as it is not the first line in the paragraph. I can't think of any situation where this is an optimal outcome.

16. Remove color failed

    Hi,

    I'm facing a new issue.

18. problem with optical margin alignment and world-ready paragraph composer

    1. This happens in multiple versions of InDesign. I've reproduced it in ID CS 6 (8.1.0.420), ID CC 2019 (14.0.3.433), ID 2021 (16.4.0.55), and ID 2022 (17.0.0.68).

    2. Steps to reproduce:
       (1) Open InDesign
       (2) Create a new empty document
       (3) Create a text frame that is 100 mm by 100 mm
       (4) Place Text4.txt
       (5) Go Type > Story > check Optical Margin Alignment

    3. Expected result:
       The left margin should be somewhat ragged because the * character needs to be shifted left to make the margin appear straight. The right margin should be completely even because each line ends with the same word.

    4. Actual result:
       The left margin is correctly ragged. The right margin is ragged instead of being even.

    5. Text4.jpg shows the result with the ragged right margin.

    6. Notes:
       (1) This bug occurs with the World-Ready Paragraph Composer. It does not occur with the Adobe Paragraph Composer. Switching the composer produces the expected results.
       (2) This bug is related to soft hyphens (0xAD). If these are removed from the data then the expected results are produced.

    The fix of the issue is now available in the latest InDesign 2024(v19.5.0.084). We recommend you upgrade to the latest version for the fix.

    If you are unable to see the update, go to the Creative Cloud application and click on the context menu on the top right and click on Check for App Updates.

19. Span columns not working properly (16.4)

    InDesign 16.4 on Windows.

    I have an issue with spanned text.
    It looks like a "break column" special character is created above and below the text when I span it across a 2 column frame. Or a text column is "skipped."
    This is happening on flowing text, on primary text frames. The text was initially imported from a Word document (without styling).

    This "bug" doesn't happens on on other text frames where the text was not imported.

    I am trying to upload the INDD packaged rar file but the platform is saying that that type of file is not supported... Kindly text the screenshot.
    You will see some empty columns above and below the spanned text that should be filled with text.
